Chapter 54
‘Mr. Ondrinnk?’ Jessica tried to mind link, her own memory a bit foggy as to how to do it.
‘Jessica? I heard that you got your memory back,’ Mr. Ondrink responded to her mind link.
‘You had no right,’ Jessica responded in anger.
‘Let me explain,’ Mr. Ondrink tried, but Jessica had no interest in his explanation, feeling she can't trust anyone.
‘Just tell me how to unravel the memory spell on Ann,’ Jessica mind linked.
‘She has to fall in love with Michael,’ Mr. Ondrink informed her.
‘Why Michael? Why not Paris?’ Jessica questioned, confused.
‘It was not my choice. Michael, being the king of the Vampires, had the final say,’ Mr. Ondrink mind linked.
‘But she is in love with Paris,’ Jessica mind linked.
‘How did that happen?’ Mr. Ondrink questioned.
‘They have been dating all summer. I have not seen Michael once. Where is he?’ Jessica demanded to know.
‘Paris was not supposed to hook up or come in contact with Ann,’ Mr. Ondrink mind linked and Jessica could pick up his agitation.
‘Did you all truly believe that he will just stand down?’ Jessica snorted. ‘Where is Micheal?’
‘Last I heard, he went searching for his family,’ Mr. Ondrink mind link.
‘So instead of pursuing Ann, he went looking for his prehistoric wives? How the hell is she supposed to fall in love with someone that has a dozen wives and not around?’ Jessica mind linked and sighed loudly, waking Ann up.
“Hey you. I thought you went out with Deacon?” Ann stressed and reach over to her phone to check the time.
Jessica cut Mr. Ondrink out. “We broke up.”
“What?” Ann sat up at the news. “But just this morning, you said, you are in love with him.”
“I know, but after seeing him this morning I decided that I don’t want to spend my varsity years tied up with just one guy,” Jessica lied and fell down on her bed. “Will have to bring our own mattresses,” she complained.
“Tell me about it,” Ann said, and put her phone down again.
Ann was about to continue her nap when the dorm room burst opened. “Hello roomies,” Shysie said, and threw her bags on the only bed vacant.
“Thank you brother dearest,” Shysie said, and took her luggage from her twin brother Wynn.
‘How is it even possible for her to be in brought daylight?’ Jessica wondered, looking at Shysie, who, according to her memories, was nothing but a vampire, unlike her twin brother Wynn, that was a hybrid. ‘Or was a hybrid?’ Jessica asked herself, her eyes on him, remembering that Deacon and his brothers burnt his wolf part to death.
“Out with you,” Shysie said, and pushed Wynn out of the room.
“I will be right back,” Jessica said, and left the room to run after Wynn but Shysie followed her.
“Wynn, wait up,” Jessica called after him.
“How do you know my name?” Wynn asked, confused not wanting to give away to much detail.
“I have my memory back,” Jessica explained.
“Oh, great. So, you fell in love with Deacon. That is good to know,” Wynn said.
“No surprise there,” Shysie said, coming from behind, catching up.
“What do you think you are doing? Was the whole point of whipping our memory not to separate us from the supernatural world?” Jessica asked, giving Shysie an angry look.
“If they really wanted you to be separated from the Supernatural world then they shouldn’t have you study on the door stop of the Higher council,” Shysie chuckled.
“You will not be sharing a room with us. Ann does not have her memory back yet,” Ann said.
“The way Micheal is carrying on she might never get it back and I heard if anyone tells her any of her memories it will make her go insane,” Shysie snorted.
“Do you know what Paris has been up to this summer?” Jessica questioned.
“Yes, helping Michael find his family,” Shysie said.
“Actually, Paris was not with us these past three months,” Wynn said.
“Despite trying to keep them apart, they have been dating all summer long and are madly in love,” Jessica said, with a smirk on her face and walked back into her dorm room. Jessica grabbed two of Shysie’s bags and threw it out and returned for the rest of Shysie’s things.
“What are you doing?” Ann questioned, shocked at Jessica’s behaviour.
“There is no way in hell I am spending my varsity career sharing a dorm room with a lollypop girl,” Jessica said, and threw the last of Shysie’s things out before shutting the door.
“Bitch!” Jessica heard Shysie shout from the other side.
“Won’t you get in trouble for your actions? I know we got to choose to share a room, but do we really have a say in the matter who else shares it with us,” Ann questioned, shaking her head in disbelief.
“Relax, we won’t get in trouble,” Jessica chuckled.
“We? No way I am going down for your actions,” Ann said, and got out of bed.
“Where are you going?” Jessica wondered, watching Ann take fresh clothes from her luggage.
“Showering and then the two of us are going to explore the campus,” Ann said.
“Maybe your half-brother’s girlfriend can share a room with us. She is studying here this year as well, right?” Jessica suggested when she remembered the Were-owl princess that was staying with Ann and her family, pretending to be nothing more than Ann’s half-brother, Eero's girlfriend.
“She is like super rich. No way she will stay in a dorm room,” Ann shouted from the shower.
“You don’t have to shout, I am right here,” Jessica chuckled, sitting on the closed toilet.
“I didn’t even notice you,” Ann chuckled.
“Ami and Eero got a place of their own. We are invited to their housewarming party,” Ann said, lathering her body.
“That is silly of them. They are missing out on the whole varsity experience,” Jessica said.
“Those two lovebirds won’t get around to any studies any time soon,” Ann chuckled.
“Thank goodness we got to move in here today. Don’t get me wrong, I love your half a dozen brothers but my word they can be rowdy,” Jessica laughed, thinking about the crazy summer at Ann’s family's new house in Hudson.
After Michael attacked the higher council, ordering everyone to kill the Hunters, Eero and his brothers that was conceived trough surrogacy was left without mothers. Ann’s mother decided that she will take all the boys as her own and they told Ann that they all came from one family where the parents died, which they did, only they left out the fact that they were vampire hunters.
Ann has met all her brothers before her memory got wiped and thus far, they all did a good job in not telling her the truth. Eero’s girlfriend, Ami ended up staying with the Willow’s because her own mother, the were-owl queen tried to keep her and Eero apart. Ami and Eero was born on the same day and grew up together at the higher council. They went from best friends to lovers.
“Paris is introducing me to a couple of his friends tomorrow night, you should come,” Ann said, as she got out of the shower and took the towel that Jessica was holding out to her. “Thank you.”
“Sure, should be fun,” Jessica said, and wondered who these so-called friends would be.
After drying her hair, Ann slipped on denim shorts and a floral t-shirt along with her slip-on sandals.
“Aren’t you at least going to put some colour on your lips. We are not in high school anymore,” Jessica teased when she saw Ann put on lip gloss.
“Whatever,” Ann brushed the advice off and grabbed her tote bag.
They left their room and followed the overhead signage that led them to the main varsity building.
“Where to first?” Ann questioned.
“Library?” Jessica suggested.
“The library? Only dorks hang out there,” Ann said, but hooked her arm in with Jessica and followed the sign that pointed them in the direction of the library.
