Chapter 85

Jessica kept on catching Lestat’s scent but every time when she thinks she found him he was gone. Not only did Lestat leave behind a trail of his scent, but Jessica also picked up the fragrance of blue cornflowers. ‘I hope Deacon did not return and think he can win me over with flowers,’ Jessica thought but then she noticed a blue cornflower, its fragrance mixed with Lestat’s scent, and she realized that Lestat was playing a game of cat and mouse with her. Jessica followed the trail of blue cornflowers that led her out of the frat house. She soon found herself in the backyard of the frat house which was quiet since all the students were inside the house getting drunk.
Jessica followed the trial of flowers along with Lestat’s scent and wondered why he was leading her away from the frat house. ‘Is he not supposed to be supervised?’
Jessica ended up at a beautiful, modern house that was on varsity property and found herself in the middle of a garden that was filled with a variety of blue flowers.
“Lestat,” she said when she found him standing in the middle of the garden holding what was left of the blue cornflowers.
“Do you like it?” Lestat asked with a big smile on his face.
“You know I do!” Jessica chuckled and swirled around, looking at all the blue flowers, and taking in the different fragrances.
“Whose house is this?” Jessica chuckled.
“Part of the package of teaching here,” Lestat said and pulled her in for a kiss with his free hand.
“You are actually going to show me where you live?” Jessica asked.
“It is time,” Lestat smiled at her and walked her to the back door.
Jessica chuckled while waiting for him to open the door.
“What is so funny,” Lestat questioned with a smile on his face.
“The fact that I have to go in by the back door like a naughty schoolgirl,” Jessica said and walked in.
“You are a very naughty schoolgirl,” Lestat said before putting the blue cornflowers on the kitchen counter, followed by pinning her against it from behind, and kissing her neck.
“Can we talk for a moment first?” Jessica asked.
Lestat grabbed a hand full of her hair and jerked her head back, turning her around. “First let me have you,” he said and pulled her head back by her hair to expose her whole neck. Lestat plastered wet kisses on her skin. He lets go of her hair and lifts her onto the kitchen counter followed by un-fastening his belt and button. Lestat mouths a breast through her dress, slipping his hands up her shoulders and pulling the thin straps off her shoulders, and pulling her dress down, making her breast spill over. “Damn, you are so sexy,” Lestat said before mouthing a breast again.
Jessica plated her fingers in his hair, moaning before pulling his head away from her breast and kissing him. “We need to talk.”
Lestat put his hands on the counter on either side of her and looked her in the eye. “Are you pregnant?”
“What? No,” Jessica said and pulled up her dress, covering her breast.
“That is a relief. You had me worried there for a moment,” Lestat chuckled, relieved.
“Wow, really?” Jessica asked, shocked. “It will just be the worst thing ever to have a baby with me?” Jessica choked and got of the counter. “God forbid you are stuck with me.”
Lestat grabbed her by her arm as she walked past him. “I would love to be stuck with you for the rest of my life, but I would hate to ruin your future,” Lestat said.
“You want to be stuck with me?” Jessica questioned, relieved.
“Hell yeah,” Lestat said and let go of her arm, wrapping it around her waist. “You are my perfect woman.”
Jessica wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him and this time she allowed him to have her body. They started in the kitchen and ended in his bedroom which Lestat lit with candles beforehand.
“What did you want to talk about?” Lestat asked afterward, pulling his fingers through her hair.
Jessica rested her hands on his chest and looked at him. “I don’t want to scare you off.”
“Do you love me, Miss Steel,” Lestat teased and turned her under him. “I love you too.”
“You love me?” Jessica questioned, looking up at him.
“Say it back,” Lestat demanded.
“I love you,” Jessica said, touching the side of his face.
“You better,” Lestat said and kissed her. He was about to make love to her again when she stopped him.
“But that is not what we need to talk about,” Jessica interrupted him.
‘Crap. Did she find out what I am?’ Lestat thought, worried. “Out with it already.”
Jessica pushed him off her and sat up, pulling the bedsheets up to her chest.
“A beautiful body like yours should be on full display for everyone to worship,” Lestat said and pulled at the bedsheets.
“Can we be serious for a moment?” Jessica held on to the bed sheets.
Lestat sat up. “Ok, serious time,” he said with a frown on his face.
“Stop it,” Jessica chuckled.
“Ok, go ahead,” Lestat said and stopped fooling around.
Jessica took a deep breath. “I am a lycan,” Jessica said and waited for him to respond.
“A lycan?” Lestat pretended not to take her seriously.
“Like a werewolf,” Jessica said.
“Cool,” Lestat chuckled.
“I am serious,” Jessica said and stood up from the bed. “I will show you.”
“I believe you,” Lestat chuckled and leaned towards her, grabbing her hand and pulling her back to his bed.
“But you don’t seem shocked by it,” Jessica said, joining him on his bed again.
“Do you want me to be shocked by it?” Lestat said, wondering if he should tell her the truth; that he knew all along.
“I don’t know,” Jessica said. “So, you know about vampires and the supernatural world?”
“I do. The varsity is full of them. I don’t know who they are, but I know that the supernatural higher council is where the ruins of the old Pirelli castle are,” Lestat said.
“How do you know all this?” Jessica questioned.
“I, well,” Lestat started but didn’t know what to tell her. ‘My mother is going to be various,’ he thought.
“You are my fated mate but you don’t smell like a lycan. Is one of your parents perhaps a lycan?” Jessica questioned. “Wait. If you know about the supernatural world, do you know who I am?”
“Slow down,” Lestat tried to settle her. “I am your fated mate?” Lestat asked confused.
“Yes,” Jessica said. “Are you of royal descent?”
“Fuck,” Lestat exclaimed and looked for his clothes.
“Talk to me. What is the matter?” Jessica found her dress and pulled it on.
“Go home,” Lestat said, getting dressed.
“No. Tell me what the matter is?” Jessica demanded. “Earlier you said you want to be with me and that you love me but now that I am a lycan and you, my fated mate, you no longer love me?” Jessica spat. “I told you what I am because I want to claim you as my forever mate.”
“No, you don’t,” Lestat said.
“I do!” Jessica grabbed him by his arm before part shifting and claiming him, biting him on his collarbone, making Lestat scream in pain.
“Why the hell did you do that?!” Lestat exclaimed, grabbing where she bit him.
“Because I want you for the rest of my life,” Jessica said after shifting back into her human form.
Lestat looked at the blood on his fingers. “You shouldn’t have done that,” Lestat said, worried. “Go home,.. to your dorm.”
“Why? Tell me what the matter is?” Jessica pulled against him, that was dragging
