Chapter 73

“Ahem,” Jessica cleared her throat standing next to Ami that was siting on her usual chair.
It was clear from the look on Jessica’s face that she knew about her and Wynn. “See you later,” Ami said while standing up not able to look Jessica in her face.
“Later?” Jessica questioned Ann, sitting down.
“Oh, I invited her to sleep in our dorm. I felt sorry for her but I have a sneaky suspicion she and that Wynn guy are dating,” Ann chuckled.
“You invited her to sleep over?” Jessica confirmed.
“No. I invited her to move in,” Ann said, looking at Jessica that looked like she was going to blow up. “Jeez, I didn’t know it would be a problem. I thought you like her?”
“Well, I did until I,” Jessica started and was about to say, ‘until I found out she is with my ex fated mate,’ but swallowed her words, biting her lip.
“Until what?” Ann questioned.
“I don’t appreciate my class being disrupted like this. If you have better things to do then please leave,” the professor silenced Jessica and Ann.
Jessica sighed with relief that she didn’t have to explain herself but knew she had to either accept Ami sharing their dorm room or come of with a suitable reason why out of the blue she didn’t like Ami anymore.
Ami didn’t need to move into the dorm room, but she didn’t want to offend Ann and besides that, she wanted to work on her friendship with Jessica.
“Thanks for letting me stay here for a bit,” Ami said to Jessica when they were alone in the room.
“Why don’t you just stay with Wynn at the higher council or share your house with him?” Jessica questioned, flopping down on her bed.
“I was hoping to keep Wynn and me a secret until we were sure about it all. How did you find out?” Ami questioned, hesitant to unpack her bag.
“Why?” Jessica questioned, casually taking a book she was busy reading off her bedside table.
Ami took too long to answer, not knowing how to word it.
“Oh, my word. Please tell me it is not because of me?” Jessica chuckled, pretending she didn’t care.
“Well, yes, and your shift of attitude earlier this week towards me tells me that you are not happy about it,” Ami stated flatly, not wanting to bend around the bush.
“Wynn is all yours. I have a new fated mate that I plan to claim,” Jessica snorted and opened her book.
“I heard you un-mated with Deacon somehow. You know he is still missing,” Ami said but Jessica ignored her.
Ami walked over to Jessica and took her book out of her hands. “Will you stop, please?”
“What are you on about?” Jessica questioned and reached to take her book back but Ami step backward.
“If you are hang-up over Wynn and plan to hate me for the rest of your life then tell me now and I will un-mate with him. I am the future were-owl queen and most likely you or perhaps your offspring will end up being the future lycan queen or king so we have a lifetime of being in each other’s lives and I don’t want to live it like this,” Ami said.
“Let me put you out of your misery. I fated to a human, and I don’t plan to make any royal babies for the supernatural world to bend to their will as they please,” Jessica spat and stood up, grabbing her book out of Ami’s hand before leaving the dorm room as Ann walked in.
“Again? What is it with you two?” Ann questioned, shaking her head.
“Not everyone will get along,” Ami said with a sigh and picked up her bag. “Sorry, but I cannot stay here.”
“Sorry. I didn’t expect Jessica to be so uptight,” Ann said, disappointed that Ami won’t be their roommate.
“Don’t worry about it,” Ami smiled. “What are your plans for the weekend?”
“I had a date night plan for Michael, but he has other plans,” Ann said, disappointed because she thought that they are exclusive after the other morning.
“Ann, if I may make a suggestion, talk to Paris again, hear his side,” Ami said, wishing she could just tell Ann the truth.
“Paris?” Ann laughed. “That ship has sailed. Katelina is his current fool.”
“Really?” Ami questioned confused. ‘Something is not right,’ Ami thought, having a bad feeling.
“Yes. I heard it from Katelina herself,” Ann said.
“I have to go, you enjoy your weekend,” Ami said and left before Ann could get out another word.
“Great, another lonely weekend,” Ann said out loud and fell backward on her bed.

HIGHER COUNCIL – VAMPIRE THRONE ROOM
Michael was sitting on the vampire throne, patiently waiting for darkness to cover the earth, with Shysie sitting next to him.
“I don’t understand why I am needed here,” Shysie complained.
“Stop with your whining,” Michael spat. He was about to tell Shysie why she was there but then a few hybrids walked in.
“We found Torvald’s location,” one of them said.
“Where?” Michael questioned.
“An old compound of his, not too far from here,” the hybrid said.
“Alone?” Torvald questioned.
“Yes,” the hybrid lied. Michael chose to believe that all Torvald’s previous subjects were now loyal to him, but they were far from it. What Michael didn’t know was that Shysie and the hybrids standing in front of Michael were actually following Torvald’s orders, a trap for Michael.
“What do you want us to do about Torvald?” one hybrid questioned.
“Let him be, for now,” Michael said, much to everyone’s surprise.
“Really? Is that a good idea?” Shysie questioned. “What if anyone finds out he is not in the dungeons?” Shysie questioned, wondering how she was going to convince Michael to go with the hybrids to Torvald’s compound.
“Shysie, go to the front door to receive my guest,” Michael ordered, trusting that Merch will arrive with Paris and Ketelina as soon as the sun was down not taking into account that Merch can’t travel during the day and neither can Paris.
Shysie got to the front door and walked outside, expecting a group of people since Michael said, ‘guest’ but noticed only one person standing around.
“Who are you?” Shysie questioned.
“I have a message for the vampire king,” the hybrid said.
“Welcome,” Shysie said, making the castle appear. The hybrid followed Shysie to the throne room.
“Everyone leave,” Michael ordered.
“You are kidding right?” Shysie spat in disbelief. “You made me sit here for how many bloody hours only to send me away when the action is about to kick off?” Shysie asked, desperate to be part of the conversation that was about to take place so that she can report to Torvald.
“You served your purpose, now leave,” Michael chuckled.
Shysie stood up furious and walked towards the exit of the throne room.
“Perhaps you should choose your bed partners better if you want to gain my trust,” Michael said after her. “Yes, I know you fuck my brother recently, in my room.”
“You mean his room,” Shysie challenged and sped off before Michael could say another word.
After the throne room was clear the hybrid spoke.
“Merch is at the penthouse in Toronto and probably already left to come over here. Paris and Katelina are with him and un-harmed. He should be here in the next two hours. He asked me to confirm Soroya’s presence,” the hybrid spoke.
‘Crap, I forgot that I promised Merch, Soroya,’ Michael thought. “He will see Soroya when I lay my eyes Katelina and Paris.”
