Chapter 226

The year 2000 and something

“I thought you were dead,” Queen Lana said, sitting up on her royal throne when she saw an old acquaintance.

“Kerraelas, old friend,” King Makens said, standing up from his throne to greet his Raven friend that looked as young as he does.

After the embrace, King Makens signaled his servants to come closer. “What do you want to drink? Are you hungry?”

“I am not staying long,” Kerraels said.

“Where have you been all this time?” Queen Lana asked.

“Does it matter?” Kerraels asked.

“What brings you here? A warning? What has your foresight shown to you?” King Makens asked, looking at the serious expression on Kerraels' face.

“I have seen many things to come,” Kerraels said.

“I heard someone sighted you,” Queen Amirah said, walking in, Prince Andre at her side.

“Queen Amirah,” Kerraels said, taking her hand and kissing it.

“Prince Andre, how is hybrid life treating you?” Kerraels turned his attention to Prince Andre and shook his hand.

“It has its perks,” Prince Andre chuckled.

“My evil friend, one day you will have your Hannah and you will steal her from her husband in the most unimaginable way,” Kerraels said.

“I will? How?” Prince Andre asked eagerly.

“You, my dear Queen, you will have another child, a daughter,” Kerraels said, ignoring Prince Andre's question.

“Does that mean my husband is returning to me?” Queen Amirah asked, tears of hope already building up in her eyes.

“Yes, he will be arriving tomorrow.  I came to tell you and warn you that he is not the same man you once knew and loved but you will find a way to heal his broken soul,” Kerraels said.

Prince Andre embraced his mother who was crying uncontrollably.

“Prince Wynn,” Kerraels saw Wynn walking into the throne room.

“Old friend, I was wondering if the mind links coming through were true.  What brings you out of hiding?” Wynn asked, embracing the Raven.

“He is just Wynn,” Queen Lana said with a snobbish tone not liking the fact that Wynn knew the Raven was alive but she didn't.

“He will always be Prince Wynn to me,” Kerraels said, not caring much for Queen Lana’s remark.

“Let's catch up,” Wynn invited him for a drink.

“I am not staying long, but I have seen a glimpse of your future,” Kerraels said.

“I don’t want to know it,” Wynn stopped him in his tracks.

“Fair enough. Where is your evil sister? As I am sure she wants to know hers,” Kerraels said.

“The sun is still too high for her liking,” Wynn reminded him that Shysie was a vampire.

“Well, tell her that she will lose Paris again to another human,” Kerraels laughed.

“Is Princess Freda ok? Do you know of my daughter?” Wynn whispered, hoping no one heard him.

“She is perfectly happy and her twins are already fully grown adults,” Kerraels said, tapping him on the back.

“What? She had twins? I am a grandfather?” Wynn asked, almost too loudly.

“Actually, you are already a great grandfather,” Kerraels said into his ears, leaving Wynn stunt.

“Where do I find them?” Wynn asked.

“You don’t, not for many years to come, and trust me, it is better that way, it keeps them safe,” Kerraels said, before walking away.

“Where are Princess Jovita and her twin sister? Any children amongst them?” Queen Lana drew Kerraels' attention to her.

“One of your sons will steal Princess Jovita’s and Juno’s daughter from the one and only,” Kerraels said, hinting with his eyes at Wynn.

“So they had a child, after all?” Queen Lana confirmed.

“The child is not born yet,” Kerraels said. What he does not say is that the day Jovita’s daughter is born is the same day her sister Jenny gets killed, being mistaken for Jovita, when Shysie goes to kill them under King Thorvald’s orders.

“What about my sons? Will they marry again? Is there any royal blood out there for them?” King Makens asked.

“Indeed, your bloodline will continue,” Kerraels said.

“That is a relief,” Queen Lana said.

“Any message for King Thorvald? He will end me if I don’t get his future,” Wynn asked.

“King Thorvald will lose his throne one day,” Kerraels said with a chuckle.

“Really?” Queen Lana laughed hysterically and was filled with joy.

“King Thorald might one day lose his throne to a loving brother, but you and King Makens will lose your heads to a resentful son that hates you,” Kerraels said, making Queen Lana choke on her laughter.

“Let me guess, Prince Deacon?” King Makens asked, sadness filling him at the thought of his own firstborn resenting him.

“Where is Prince Deacon?” Queen Lana demanded.

“Happy in the arms of Emily,” Kerraels said, setting the ball into motion.

“Excuse me? That evil woman is still alive?!” Queen Lana choked, filled with anger.

“As evil as the one I am looking at,” Kerraels said bluntly.

“Where are they?” Queen Lana asked, standing up from her throne.

“Can the future be changed?” King Makens asked, wondering if their deaths were set in stone.

“that is why I am here telling you so that perhaps your Queen will let Prince Deacon be,” Kerraels said, wishing that King Makens could have at least had a different future ahead than being killed by one of his own children.

“Guards, lock the raven up,” Queen Lana demanded.

“Wait, why?” Wynn stood in front of Kerraels.

“He will get tortured until he gives me the location of Prince Deacon,” Queen Lana said, anger in her tone.

“No need to lock me up or torture me. He is in the town where you had Emily’s whole family killed on their wedding day,” Kerraels said, causing a few gasps in the throne room as nobody knew.

“Why would you tell her that?” Wynn asked.

“Because it is the way to her end,” Kerraels said.

“If you want something done, you have to do it yourself,” Queen Lana said, storming off in a rage to go kill Emily herself.

“And that right there is why the two of you will die at the hands of your own kin,” Kerraels said, before shifting and flying off.

‘I have to warn them,’ Wynn thought, looking through the tall windows, the sun still far away from setting. ‘At least she can not get to England faster than a vampire and even if she uses a vampire, she can only leave tonight,’ Wynn thought, trying to get through to Prince Deacon with a mind link to warn him.

‘Why am I not getting through? Did he block out everyone for good?’ Wynn wondered, walking out of the throne room.

‘Thank goodness for modern technology,’ Wynn thought, taking out his phone to call Prince Deacon.

“Hello,” Wynn heard the delicate voice of Emily.

“Hello Emily,” Wynn greeted her calmly.

“Hello Wynn,” Emily greeted him back, wondering why Wynn was calling after so many years of silence.

“Can I speak to Prince Deacon?” Wynn asked.

“What is wrong?” Emily asked, picking up on Wynn's urgent tone.

“You are in danger. Queen Lana is on her way to kill you herself.

“Why can that stupid bitch not let me be?” Emily asked furiously.

“Where is Prince Deacon? I need to speak to him,” Wynn asked, wanting to tell Prince Deacon what the Raven said.

“He is out right now. I will tell him that you called,” Emily said.

“Emily, it is roughly a two-night/two-day trip with vampire speed and I am sure the Queen is going to use my sister to get to you. Don’t hesitate, leave tonight,” Wynn urged her.

“Ok,” Emily said before hanging up.

‘I can not ruin his life by having him on the run with me always. I will spend one last evening with him,’ Emily thought, walking up the stairs in the dark house because all the curtains were drawn, ‘surely he misses existing in the day. He deserves someone he can have children with.’

Having made up her mind, Emily took a long relaxing bath, with tears running down her face at the thought that tonight will be her last with Prince Deacon.
