Chapter 89

The girls arrived in class and took their usual seats. Ann took it upon herself to send Deacon and Wynn text messages to make sure they are aware that Jessica is alive and well and in class.
Ann also informed Jessica’s very worried parents, Juno and Jovita and her own parents that was also up to speed with everything that was going on.
“You father is still not back. He is searching for Eero,” Ann’s mother texted her back.
‘Poor Eero. I wonder where he is,’ Ann thought and put her phone away.

News of Jessica being at varsity changed everyone’s plans and thirty minutes later Wynn, Deacon, Juno, Jovita and Michael were in class.
Deacon walked straight over to Jessica and grabbed her by her arm, pulling her out of her chair. “Come with me,” Deacon said.
“Hey, you are hurting me!” Jessica protested.
“Good morning class. I see everyone has decided to attend today,” Lestat said, walking into class bringing Deacon to a halt. All the supernatural looked shocked.
“I saw him die with my own eyes. Our mate bond has broken. I still suffer from a broken heart,” Jessica whispered.
Deacon let go of Jessica. “We will talk trough mind links,” he said and walked to the back of the class where he took his seat next to Wynn.
‘What the hell is going on? Lestat is alive?’ Wynn mind linked Deacon.
‘His mother must have brought him back to live,’ Deacon mind linked back.
‘I did not know they can do that,’ Wynn mind linked.
‘Makes two of us,’ Deacon mind linked.
“Sorry I am late,” Shysie said to Wynn and sat next to him.
“Where the hell have you been?” Wynn questioned.
“I was looking for Paris,” Shysie said, rolling her eyes.
‘Oh boy, she does not know he is dead,’ Wynn thought.
‘Should I break it to her, or will you?’ Deacon mind linked Wynn, responding to his thoughts.
“You better not be lying,” Michael warned her. “By the way,” Michael looked at her, “Paris is a pile of ash.”
“What do you mean?” Shysie questioned, confused.
“He is dead,” Wynn said, expecting Shysie to flip out.
“Um, well, then I must be looking at his ghost,” Shysie said and pointed at Paris, making all of them look around.
“Pile of ash, hu?” Wynn questioned, looking at Michael.
‘Crap,’ Michael thought.
“How are you in daylight?” Deacon whispered.
Wynn got up from his chair and approached Paris to embrace him, but Paris stepped away from him. “That is a bad idea,” Paris said, putting his hand out in front of him.
“Dude, I am just glad that you are alive,” Wynn said and took his seat again.
“Everyone, meet Paris. He was one of our nighttime students that has now joined the land of the living,” Lestat cracked a joke.
Ann flipped her head around and her heart skipped a beat when her eyes fell on him. “He is alive?” Ann whispered to herself.
“Apparently,” Jessica responded.
Lestat started the class as if he was not dead a week ago, knowing that the supernatural must have a dozen questions for him.
Ann could not wait for class to be over so that she can throw herself into Paris’s arms and declare her undying love for him.
While class was going on, Michael took out his phone and texted a few hybrids to come over to varsity so that they can escort Paris to the dungeons for killing Stella.
One of those hybrids intern mind linked Deacon and Wynn what Michael was up to.
“If you lay one effen finger on Paris, I will end you,” Wynn whispered to Michael.
“You and what army?” Michael challenged.
“Michael don’t push your luck. I order you to stand down and leave Paris alone. I will get to the bottom of things, and I am sure he does not have to be behind bars for me to do that,” Deacon said under his breath.
“Why the fuck am I the vampire king if your sidekick gets to overrule me?” Michael said a little too loud.
“We will discuss this later. We have more important things to deal with,” Deacon said, hinting at Lestat.
“I expect everyone that decided to take the week off to stay behind for a debriefing,” Lestat said after the lesson.
All the students left the class besides the supernatural.
“I actually just have a message for Deacon. Or should I say King Deacon Makens?” Lestat said, looking at Deacon.
“Deacon is fine,” Deacon responded. “See you all in a second,” Deacon said.
“I will stick around,” Michael said.
“Same here,” Wynn said.
“Paris, can we talk?” Ann was quick to request when the rest of them made their way out of the class.
“I am kind of busy,” Paris said, remembering that Ann and Michael are together, seeing together on the very same beach Ann and he made love. Paris grabbed Shysie and sped off with her before she could get a word out. Shysie was no match for him as the hunter strength never worn off like Eero said it would.
Ann felt heartbroken, thinking Shysie and Paris are back together.
Michael smiled and was happy about Paris’s actions. He does not know why Paris is behaving in the manner he did, but he did not care. All that matter to him was that it will push Ann straight into his arms again.
“I will talk to you later,” Michael said and went after Ann.
“My mother left this for you,” Lestat said, handing Deacon an envelope.
“How the hell are you alive?” Wynn questioned.
“My mother performed a live swoping spell by sacrificing her own life,” Lestat explained, giving them the short version.
“Your mother is dead?” Deacon questioned.
“Yes,” Lestat said. “That is all. I have nothing more to say to all of you. I want nothing to do with the lot of you.”
“You are not getting off the hook that fast. You will stand trial for your involvement with Torvald,” Deacon said.
“The hell I will. I had nothing to do with my mother and her shit. I did not even know she used a bloody spell to fate me to Jessica. That letter should explain everything. I don’t know what it says since it is a blank piece of paper, but I assume the person it is intended for will be able to see what is written on it,” Lestat said, pointing at the letter.
“This conversation is not over,” Deacon said and walked away. Deacon turned around again and faced Lestat. “Stay away from Jessica.”
“Or what?” Lestat challenged.
Wynn sped over to Lestat and attempted to grab him by his throat, but a force pushed him of, throwing Wynn across the class room.
“What the hell?” Deacon exclaimed.
“Must be one of my mother’s spells,” Lestat said and turned to his desk.
Wynn found his feet and together with Deacon he left for another class.

When Paris sped of with Shysie he went to the nearest bathroom and smashed her against a wall before sinking his teeth into her neck, drinking her blood. Shysie tried to fight him off, but she was no match for him.
“I knew you are not like Wynn. You killed a helpless hunter to become a day walker?!” Paris hissed, blood dripping from his mouth.
“Not exactly a hunter. The offspring of a hunter,” Shysie explained.
“Who else knows this?” Paris demanded to know, pinning her hands to the wall so that she could not speed off.
“Well, all the hunters, Torvald, myself and I geuss, now you,” Shysie said in fear.
“I swear if anything happens to Ann, I will kill you,” Paris warned her and let go off her, walking over to the nearest basin to rinse his mouth.
Shysie was relieved that Torvald had Lautari put a spell over her memories that involved Torvald so Paris did not see what they were up to.
Paris left and went to the next class. He was not oblivious to all the eyes on him, and he could hear the girls whispered about him. His eyes met Ann’s that was on him. Paris noticed a few girls making space next themselves so that he can have a seat, so he chose a random seat and smiled at the girl that did not go unnoticed by Ann.
‘What the hell has gotten into him and how the hell did he become a day walker?’ Ann thought and forced herself to take her eyes off Paris.
