Chapter 27

Michael was relieved when Jason walked away from King Torvald's room, not knowing that Jason was mind linking his entire pack.
‘There is a prehistoric vampire lying unconscious in a room. You will find him when you enter the secret entrance. It leads through a wardrobe that leads to the room where the Prehistoric is laying. Kill him,’ Jason demanded his entire pack that was outside of the council.
Michael and Jason caught up with Shaman Kian and together they ran into some of Jason’s pack members that manage to get into the castle earlier. Michael took the opportunity to speed off, none of them noticing.
Shysie was looking for King Torvald when she found him unconscious in his room, a mob of angry Lycans storming through the wardrobe, making their way into the room through what was no longer a secret passage.
Shysie acted fast and picked up King Torvald and sped off with him.
Stella peeked through the door from the room the hunter kids were hiding and notice that someone was opening all the curtains.
‘I take it someone has declared war against the Vampires then,’ Stella thought, as they are in the Vampire wing.
The person they were peeking at was Jason and he just reached their door.
Jason reached a part of the passage and thought it was odd that there was no door.
‘Kian, come find me,’ Jason showed him where he was. It does not take Shaman Kian long to reach Jason.
“Is it a spell?” Jason asked when Shaman Kian reached him.
“Yes,” Shaman Kian said as he got to work and unraveled the spell, a few dozen children looking at them in fear.
Stella stood in front of the hunter kids, ready to attack.
“Calm down, we are not here to hurt you,” Jason said, his hands out in front of him.
“I think these are the hunter kids,” Shaman Kian said.
“That is right, and we might be kids, but our strength will be whatever strength you have, making just one of us stronger than you,” Stella said, talking to Jason.
“Hey, I did not ask to be a Hybrid,” Jason retreated.
“Should I put the spell back?” Shaman Kian asked.
‘Yes, it will protect them from the Prehistoric, also put them to sleep so that they won’t come out to attack the prehistoric,’ Jason mind linked as to not give the plan away to the Hunter kids.
‘And if I die? They will stay asleep,’ Shaman Kian objected.
‘Put them in a twenty-four-hour sleep,’ Jason mind linked, rolling his eyes.
Shaman Kian started the spell before Stella could object.
After putting the kids to sleep, Shaman Kian wanted to know what the actual plan was, “what is going to happen when the Prehistorics arrive later?”
“Kill all the adults and burn the place down,” Jason said.
“But you just made me put those kids to sleep. I thought we are not going to kill them,” Shaman Kian asked.
“We will carry them out,” Jason said, and that was his last words before Shaman Kian decided he was off his head and put a sleeping spell over Jason.
‘Everyone clear out, we are going home,’ Shaman Kian mind linked the pack before picking Jason up and throwing him over his shoulder.
Bianca, the pregnant Lycan that was carrying Prehistoric Vincent’s offspring, believed to be dead; pain ripped through her whole pack.
“She is still alive!” Shaman Kian took Jason out of the sleeping spell.
“I will deal with you later!” Jason shouted as he sprinted towards Bianca, her pain drawing the whole pack towards her.
Michael saw the Lycans run past him, some in human form and some in wolf form.
“Damn, they look fearless,” Michael said out loud.
“Tell me about it,” Eero said, keeping his distance as he knew what Michael was capable of.
“I am looking for my brother, King Torvald. I left him in his room but he is not there anymore,” Michael said, ‘damn, I didn’t even hear him behind me,’ Michael thought.
“He might be in the meeting hall. Come, I will take you,” Eero said.
“A Shaman put him to sleep so I doubt it,” Michael said, making Eero stop.
“Then we still need to get to the meeting hall to let everyone know that King Torvald is missing. Is he really your brother? It does not make sense because he is not prehistoric,” Eero said, the two of them walking two meters apart.
“I will let him explain once we find him,” Michael said.
“But I thought you said he was asleep?” Eero confirmed.
“Then when he wakes up,” Michael said.
***
“What now?” Shysie, asks all the survivors of the council in the same hall after putting a still sleeping King Torvald on the floor.
“They are here to destroy all of you and, in fact, I am with them,” Michael warns when Eero and he enter the hall, making all the supernaturals panic at the sight of him.
“But why?” Eero asks.
“Because for decades your kind has been killing my kind all the while a Prehistoric Vampire is one of your Kings,” Michael points at King Torvald.
“He created us,” Eero said in disagreement.
“Touch him, I dare you,” Michael challenged.
“Don’t! He is telling the truth,” Shysie stopped Eero, feeling uncomfortable being so close to the Vampire Hunter.
“All I want is for the science and the embryos to be destroyed,” Michael said.
“What about the hunters out in the field and the children?” Eero asked, worried.
“King Torvald and you should track them down and tell them the truth. The children should be sent away to be adopted by humans. If they have offspring with humans, then the hunter bloodline will die out. As for the adults, well, each to their own, there is no controlling them after they know the truth,” Shysie suggested.
“How do we wake him?” Michael asked, looking at King Torvald.
“Shysie, go get Prince Deacon and ask him for his pack shaman to come,” a supernatural suggested.
“Urg, I am really not in the mood for the Lycans to take over and be the rulers again,” Shysie said before leaving but before she got to the door, Prince Deacon walked in, “I guess the cat is out of the bag.”
“We have unfamiliar Lycans in the castle,” Prince Deacon said, walking in as if he was already the newly crowned King.
“My brother had one of their pack members that is pregnant with a Prehistoric child abducted,” Michael enlightened.
“And you are?” Prince Deacon asked.
“He is the prehistoric vampire that caused this mess,” Eero said.
“I am your king Torvald’s brother, Michael,” he introduced himself.
“He is no king of mine,” Prince Deacon said with authority.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” Michael chuckled.
Deacon walked over to where King Torvald was laying.
“He is under a sleeping spell,” Michael said.
“We need a shaman to wake him up,” Shysie said.
“Not while I am in charge,” Prince Deacon laughed.
“Who put you in charge?” Michael asked.
“With the Lycan king and queen fleeing, it kind of makes him the next king,” Eero pointed out, always having great respect for the Lycans.
“I second that,” one after the other supernatural stated.
‘Guess they know what is good for them,’ Prince Deacon thought.
“I have never been a fan of vampires, but I am not about to kill them. I never did agree with the whole hunter business, and it is clear by this prehistoric,” Prince Deacon said, waiting for Michael to remind him of his name again.
“Michael,” he answers.
“Michael, that they are not what we were made to believe, so Shysie, you, and Michael go to the lab and destroy all traces of the hunter's research. Eero, I take it Stella is still around? Where are the kids?” Prince Deacon directed his attention to Eero.
“Hey Michael, before you go; does making a promise also work on your kind?” Eero asked.
“Yes, it does,” Michael said, wondering why he would ask.
“Then that will resolve the biggest problem with them,” Prince Deacon said, relieved, thinking he can do with someone like Eero at his side, ‘smart kid.’
Michael followed Shysie to the science lab, but then stopped in their tracks when they saw the large group of angry Lycans.
“Better Prince Deacon come and sort this out,” Shysie retreated, leaving Michael behind to fend for himself.
“Jason,” Michael called out.
“Where have you been?” Jason asked, ready to break a door down.
“Everyone here is not in agreement and if you would just give them a chance then you will see that,” Michael started to say, but stop, looking at the snarling wolves putting a wall between them.
“Bianca is in there and she is in labor! They induced her labor, but she is not due for two months!” Jason shouted, kicking at the door.
“I am the ruler here and I ask for you to allow me to explain,” Prince Deacon said, arriving on the scene.
“Thanks for letting me know who to kill first,” Jason said, eager to kill someone.
“If you will step aside, I can order the scientist inside to open the door,” Prince Deacon said in a calm tone.
“By all means, take your time,” Jason said sarcastically, stepping aside, his pack snarling at Prince Deacon, but one look from the prince made them retreat in fear.
‘Wow, he really is powerful,’ Shysie thought as she watched them retreat.
Jason wondered why his pack was retreating like puppies.
‘What the hell is wrong with you all?’ He mind linked them but they didn’t have to answer him.
‘Because I am the Lycan king, not a made one, or a chosen one but the actual one, by blood,’ Prince Deacon mind linked him, forcing him to accept it.
“Now, shall we put an end to this nonsense?” Prince Deacon asked.
“Open this door,” Prince Deacon demanded in a loud voice.
“Prince Deacon, I am under King Torvald’s orders,” the scientist said from the other side, his voice shaking.
“Can the labor be stopped?” Prince Deacon asked.
“No, her waters have already broken,” the scientist said, sweat running down his face.
“The Lycan king and queen fled, which makes me the King of the Lycans and above King Torvald. I am going to ask you once more to open this door if you want to keep your head,” Prince Deacon demanded in a calm yet forceful tone.
Much to his relief, the door opened and at that moment Bianca’s cry ripped through all of them, making them all howl regardless of if they are in their wolf or human form. It gave Prince Deacon a thrill to experience the force of such a large pack.
Jason stormed into the lab, shocked to see Bianca tied up, the baby’s head already out, Bianca growling through biting teeth, her wrist and ankles bleeding from struggling against the restraints.
The pack, now under Prince Deacon’s control, can do nothing but howl while they watch Bianca, their true Alpha by blood, being treated like this.
A woman that looked like she could be related to Bianca, ran over. “My darling, you have to push.” Jason broke off her restraints, using his vampire strength.
Prince Deacon stepped in and grabbed the baby. “It’s a boy.”
Bianca was finally loose from her restraints and even weak, she used all she had and launched for the scientist, choking him, the umbilical cord still inside of her and attached to the baby, almost yanking the baby out of Prince Deacon’s hands. Michael acted fast and, in a blink of an eye, bite the cord in two.
Everyone just stared at Bianca, naked, looking like a crazy wild human, choking the life out of the scientist.
“Shouldn’t you do something?” Michael asked Prince Deacon.
“No, let her have him, I never liked him much and he, together with King Torvald are the only living beings that know the hunter formula, so best he does not live past this day,” Prince Deacon said, grabbing sheets and wrapping the baby in it.
“How do we help the baby?” the woman that looked related to Bianca stood closer, noticing the baby was lifeless.
“Give him here,” Michael said, biting open his own palm.
“Wait! What if he is a Lycan or just a human?” she objected, putting herself between Michael and the baby.
“It might be all we have, so just let him help,” Jason demanded.
Everyone’s attention was drawn back to Bianca as she screamed in pain.
