Chapter 138
Emily helped her father get everything in order for their trip, not aware that they were not coming back.
That evening, Prince Deacon arranged a romantic dinner by candlelight while Wynn had dinner with the princesses.
Deserey, with the help of hired help from a chef Prince Deacon hired presented them with a six-course meal.
Smoked salmon with prawns, horseradish cream & lime vinaigrette to start accompanied with a glass of sparkling dry white wine that had a brutt sweetness to it.
Their Celery soup was paired with a glass of un-oaked white wine and their fried appetizers that consisted of devils eggs and country ham were served with a full-body white wine.
"I was expecting lobster salad," Emily joked when she was presented with a Salmon, pickled beetroot, and fennel salad followed by a glass of orange wine.
Prince Deacon chuckled. "I did not think Orange wine will taste this good." Prince Duncan could not believe himself for having walked this earth for so long and never tried Orange wine before.
"Makes two of us," Emily said.
"You mean to tell me it is your first time trying Orange wine as well?" Prince Deacon asked, happy that they were sharing a first-try moment.
"It is," Emily said.
Their main entrée of roast duck with figs, paired with a medium-bodied red wine, followed by a sweet cheese and port dessert wine.
"I have a surprise for you," Prince Deacon said after dinner, standing up and holding his hand out to Emily.
"I love surprises," Emily said, taking his hand and letting him take her to the drawing room.
"What is this?" Emily smiled, looking at the grand piano and I man wearing tails standing next to it.
"May I have this dance?" Prince Deacon asked when the pianist sat down and started to play the piano.
"You may," Emily said, smiling, her cheeks flushed from the wine.
They slow danced for a while before Prince Deacon leaned in and kissed her on the scar on her neck where he marked her.
“I don’t know how I got it, but for some reason, I don’t care to hide it,” Emily said.
“Don’t ever hide it,” Prince Deacon said with a hoarse voice before kissing her on her lips.
They heard the front door open and stopped kissing.
“It is getting late and my pappa said we will have an early morning,” Emily said in a soft voice.
“I wish you didn’t have to go,” Prince Deacon whispered. Even though he knew if he told her to stay, she will since she still had the compelling over her, but he won’t as he does not want to take away her free will, not when she was so compliant.
“I will see you before we leave,” Emily said before turning away to walk out of the drawing room.
“I will walk you home,” Prince Deacon said, following Emily out.
“Good evening,” Wynn greeted Emily.
“Good evening Lord Wynn,” Emily smiled.
“I am going to miss you terribly,” Prince Deacon said, touching her lips with his thumb.
“And I, you, but it is only a week,” Emily said.
“Puppy might come over tonight. Don’t leave him out. I fear someone might just mistake him for a wild animal and shoot him down,” Prince Deacon said.
“I will look out for him,” Emily said before going inside her house.
Prince Deacon walked home, and he noticed that Princess Freda was watching him from a window and he decided to ignore her.
As soon as Prince Deacon has seen the chef and pianist off, he shifted into his wolf form and ran over to Emily’s backyard and was happy to see her sitting on the windowsill. When he saw her standing up, he ran to the back door to meet her.
“Come on then,” Emily said, after opening the door.
Prince Deacon ran straight up to her room and jumped onto her bed, tail wagging.
Emily got into her room and laughed at Puppy, walking over to close her curtains before getting undressed.
‘How am I going to be without her for a whole week,’ Prince Deacon thought as he stared at her beautiful n*k*dness.
Emily slipped on her nightgown before getting into bed. After putting off her night lamp, she wrapped her arms around Prince Deacon and drifted off to sweet dreams.
The next morning, Emily woke up and found that Puppy has already left. “How did he get the door open?”
‘I hope no one saw him, they will be scared to death,’ Emily thought as she got ready for the day.
Prince Deacon woke early, again in his human form, and sneaked out of the house n*k*d before shifting into his wolf form.
He went to his own mansion's back door before shifting into his human form again to enter his house.
“It is a dangerous game you are playing,” Wynn said, sitting in the drawing room.
“You don’t know what it is like to be so bound by love,” Prince Deacon said, walking up the stairs.
“Prince Deacon?!” Deserey gasped, flushed blood red at his n*k*dness.
Prince Deacon gave her a wink, making her complexion turn a deeper red than what it already was.
“Cheeky one that Prince Deacon,” Deserey said, pouring more coffee into Wynn's cup.
“You must refer to him as lord. You never know who is listening,” Wynn reminded her.
“Of course, my apologies,” Deserey said before hurrying off to get some cleaning done before brunch.
Prince Deacon took a quick bath so that he does not smell like a dog before putting on a day suit.
“Deserey, what did you make for brunch?” Prince Deacon asked as he came down the stairs.
“My lord, it is still a few hours before brunch. Should I fetch you something for breakfast?” Deserey asked.
“No, I wanted to send Emily’s family off with something to eat later on,” Prince Deacon said.
“I can throw a basket of meat, sausages, and bread together?” Deserey suggested.
“Please do and be quick about it,” Prince Deacon said, walking after her into the kitchen.
After helping Deserey put together a basket of eatery, he walked over to Emily’s house, two cabs already standing outside, being loaded.
Prince Deacon thought it strange, Alfred walking from Princess Bently’s residence with a suitcase but got distracted by Emily’s sweet voice, instructed her siblings.
“Lord Deacon, good morning,” Emily greeted when she saw Prince Deacon.
“Not so good, I am afraid,” he said, wearing his best smile but feeling extremely lost inside. ‘She has not even left yet and I already miss her terribly,’ he thought to himself, wishing he could kiss her again, remembering how soft her lips felt when he kissed her ever so softly this morning before leaving, knowing he won’t get another chance.
“What is the matter?” Emily asked, concerned.
“I don’t think I can be without you for a week,” Prince Deacon said, wearing his heart on his sleeve.
“Oh, cheer up,” Princess Freda said sarcastically, startling Prince Deacon.
“Come to see me off?” Emily asked Princess Freda.
“I am following my mother’s advice,” Princess Freda said, standing closer.
“And that is?” Emily asked with a kind smile.
“That I should not let a man put a wedge between a great friendship,” Princess Freda said, not meaning a word.
“Is that an apology from your lips?” Emily asked, smiling.
“Goodbye Emily, have a good life,” Princess Freda said before turning around and was about to walk away when Emily stopped her.
“You two are carrying on as if we are going away forever. It is just a week,” Emily said.
“A week or not, enjoy your family time,” Princess Freda said before turning and walking away, no one seeing her evil grin.
“My darling, I put this basket together for you and your family to enjoy on the road. Where are you going on holiday?” Prince Deacon asked, walking her over to one of the cars as her siblings started to climb in.
“My pappa said it is a surprise,” Emily said, taking the basket and passing it into the car.
“Goodbye, my darling,” Prince Deacon said, feeling hopeless but not wanting to be too overpowering.
“See you in a week,” Emily said, taking Prince Deacon’s hand and allowing him to help her into the car.
“I can just be sick, seeing him so lovesick over her,” Princess Freda said to her mother, standing at their door.
“Now-now darling, they will be gone in a moment and then he will be all yours for the taking,” Princess Bently said before going inside.
Princess Freda gave a wave and a fake smile as the two cabs drove off.
