Chapter 28

“It is the contraction for the placenta. Bianca, you have to push it out like you did the baby,” the woman ran over to her, pulling her hands off the dead Scientist.
Bianca collapsed onto her knees, feeling the force to push again. The woman joined Bianca on her knees, Bianca holding onto her, “it is not the placenta,” she said with one hand between her legs, feeling the head of another baby.
Michael held his palm out to the baby.
“Is it safe to give the baby vampire blood if the baby is a vampire? Won't it harm him?” Prince Deacon asked, feeling protective of the baby.
“Anyone can drink from a natural-born prehistoric, shh don’t tell anyone,” Michael said with a wink.
It does not take long for the baby to respond and when Michael took away his palm from the baby’s mouth, the baby started to scream, making the pack howl in joy.
Bianca delivered her second baby before falling to the ground.
“Someone help,” the woman cried.
Michael bite the cord in half just like he did before, “give him blood; any blood,” he said before bending next to Bianca, willing her to drink from his palm. While Bianca drank from Michael, she recovered enough to see his life.
Bianca’s eyes opened.
After Bianca delivered the placenta, Michael picked her up and grabbed some sheets, and wrapped them around her. “Is there another room where I can take her?”

Jessica, that was compelled to stay in Prince Deacon’s room, was sitting on a Victorian-styled day bed, startled when the bedroom door burst open.
In Prince Deacon’s room, Bianca laid back in the four-poster bed, looking weak.
“Please drink more of my blood,” Michael said. While Bianca drank, Michael’s eyes caught the eye of Jessica; he knew he saw her somewhere but can’t place her.
“Sorry for taking over your room,” Jason said, also noticing her.
“It is not her room, it is mine,” Prince Deacon said.
They focus their attention back on Bianca.
“I think this little guy is strong enough now,” Prince Deacon said, passing the baby to Bianca after she recovered.
“This little guy is not coping. We should get him to a hospital,” the woman said, looking at the baby in her arms.
“Nothing a bit of prehistoric blood won't sort out.” Micheal took the baby from her and fed it his blood. While he does, he looked at the young woman sitting on the daybed again, remembering where he knew her from, ‘Ann’s Lycan friend.’
Michael looked at Prince Deacon and then again at the young woman, ‘she doesn’t look scared, perhaps angry but not scared,’ he thought to himself, wondering if he should say something.
“Jason, I saw what you have in store for the council, but I am going to suggest to you call it off. We will destroy the hunter embryo lab and once the hunters out on the field are made to understand that the Prehistoric can be controlled, then they will cease to hunt them.”
“Do we really have to be controlled?” Michael objected.
“It is not right that you possess so much power,” Prince Deacon said.
“I have to go find Lena and stop the plan before it is too late,” Michael said, putting the baby into Bianca’s other arm.
“You should tell her that we will regroup. Tell her I say so,” Bianca said.
“What, are you, her keeper?” Prince Deacon asked with a chuckle.
“You are looking at her brothers’ kids,” Bianca said mockingly. “Her brother that the council had killed.”
“I cannot believe that all this went on; right under the higher council’s nose,” Prince Deacon said.
“Ex, higher council,” Michael corrected him.
“You know what I mean,” Prince Deacon said, laughing.
“I am off. If you don’t want to see my pretty face again, then be sure to destroy the lab and everything else with it,” Michael said, getting ready to leave.
“I will give you all some space. You can let your pack know that is in the hallway outside the room, that any room that is not occupied can be used for as long as they wish to stay. With more than half of the residents dead, I am sure there are more than enough rooms available,” Prince Deacon said, walking over to Jessica.
“Thank you,” Jason said, before focusing his attention on Bianca but getting drawn back to Prince Deacon when he spoke to the woman on the daybed.
“And you, my little wolf, don’t speak to them. I will come to fetch you as soon as I have readied us a room,” Prince Deacon said, taking Jessica by the chin.
“I didn’t pick up that you are a hybrid, or is that a power royalty possesses?” Jason asked, thinking that Deacon compelled her.
“What are you talking about?” Prince Deacon asked.
“Didn’t you just compel her?” Jason asked, everyone’s eyes now on Prince Deacon and Jessica.
“Oh, that. No, I had a vampire compel her to obey me. She is my chosen mate.” Prince Deacon said with a chuckle before leaving.
Jason touched the shaman necklace around his neck and it caught Jessica’s eye.
“Ash, come with me. We have a lab to destroy,” Jason said.
“I will come with,” Michael said.
‘Did I just lose my opportunity at freedom?’ Jessica asked herself when Jason left, the shaman necklace still around his neck. Jessica wanted to mind link Mr. Ondrink but feared if she opened her mind that Prince Deacon will find a way in.
After destroying the lab, Jason and Michael sped off, intersecting Lena and the Prehistoric.
Lena was not happy about the change of plans, but was happy to learn that Bianca and her babies were saved. After some conversing, Lena and Jason went back to the council.
Michael decided to stick with his own kind, making sure every last one was under his control. ‘My brother will be so jealous when he wakes up and realized that I am the king of this powerful group.’ Instead of going back to the council, Michael decided to rather take them away to Alaska, where they can build their own council and live freely.
Jessica was relieved when she caught the familiar scent of Jason.
“Lena,” Bianca greeted, smiling at her friend.
“They are gorgeous,” Lena said.
Jessica thought Lena would never leave, but when she finally did, Jason wanted to leave with her.
“We will let you rest. See you in the morning,” Jason said.
“Jason, please stay,” Bianca asked.
“Sure,” Jason said, walking over to the bed and getting into the bed after kicking off his shoes.
Jason’s eye caught the girl on the daybed, ‘how do I help her without the prince blaming me?’ he thought, noticing her eyes on him. Jason felt his chest again, wondering if she knew the shaman hymn. ‘It is worth a try,’ he thought, taking his necklace off and putting it on the bedside table before taking one of the babies and snuggling the baby, turning his back to his shaman necklace.
Jessica waited for them to fall asleep before sneaking over to the Shaman necklace and setting herself free from the compelling that Andre put over her. Jessica dashed over to her room to gather some of her things.
“Fancy finding you here,” Prince Deacon said, sitting in the dark.
Jessica froze, ‘crap,’ she thought to herself before running towards her patio glass door that was standing open and leaping through it, landing on the ground below, breaking both her legs.
“Stupid girl,” Prince Deacon said out loud, running to the nearest exit, which was the sunroom.
Jessica screamed in agony, ‘I should shift, then my bones should heal?’ she thought before shifting.
By the time Prince Deacon got outside, he saw her in her wolf form, running into the darkness.
Prince Deacon wasted no time in taking his clothes off and shifting into his wolf form to chase after her. ‘The princess has escaped, shift and help me catch her without hurting a single hair on her!’ Prince Deacon ordered his personal pack members, more than half of them not even at the castle anymore after escaping the compelling war that Michael started.
Prince Deacon showed his pack where he saw Jessica run so that the ones that escaped in that direction can intersect her.
Clarissa was lurking near the castle, waiting for her opportunity to enter all this time, and was standing near the sunroom entrance when she saw Prince Deacon shifting and running after the wolf she has just seen shifting moments before, ‘that must have hurt,’ she thought.
Clarissa walked into the castle and decided to wait for Prince Deacon to return instead of running after him, ‘my father won’t approve if I interfere with council business,’ she thought, walking over to Prince Deacon’s room.
It disappointed Clarissa to enter Prince Deacon’s room only to find two screaming babies and a couple she does not know in his bed, “what the hell?”
“Hello to you too. You guys don’t, by any chance, have nappies?” Bianca asked.
“What do you think I am?” Clarissa asked rudely before leaving.
“What the hell happened here?” Clarissa asked out loud, walking the hallways.
“Clarissa, what are you doing here?” a full-bodied woman named Melony asked.
“They need nappies in there,” Clarissa said, rolling her eyes, ‘can’t believe Prince Deacon had sx with that and enjoyed it,’ Clarissa thought to herself, looking at Melony dressed in a Victorian-era dress with corset and all.
Clarissa decided to find out for herself what was going on but every time she opened a door to a room expecting a familiar face but finds a stranger or two, or three she got more worried, “where is everyone?” She asked, talking to herself.
‘This is getting creepy,’ she thought, making her way out of the castle again, ‘where is Andre?’ she wondered.
‘Maybe Wynn will have some answers since I found him half dead,’ Clarissa thought, making her way back to her Hybrid contact to take her back to Toronto. ‘My parents will be happy that I stay in Toronto, so far away from the council and the Hudson pack when they learn about this mess, but they won’t learn it from me,’ Clarissa thought to herself. Even though she despised Hybrids, the one Hybrid she was friends with did not choose to be one and was compelled to become one for the sake of the Supernatural war that ended 100 years ago and lasted for 400 years.
“Thanks for waiting. Do you know what happened at the council?” Clarissa asked, walking into her hybrid friend’s apartment that was walking distance from the council.
“Yeah, some vampire compelled everyone to kill each other,” Fredrick said.
“So, you were there? How did you escape?” Clarissa asked, curious to know more.
“No, I already left to chase after the runaway bride, but our pack’s minds were linked at the time,” Fredrick said, getting shifters down his back, remembering the images flashing in his mind.
“I am 200 years old, and I have never heard of a vampire being able to compel other vampires,” Clarissa stated.
“It was prehistoric. I just cannot believe that Prince Deacon forgave him so easily and let him go and not just that; he put his Lycan werewolf friends up in the castle. They are all in the rooms of the supernatural that didn’t make it out,” Fredrick said.
‘Do you have a problem with my actions?’ Fredrick heard Prince Deacon’s mind link.
“Crap,” he said before mind linking Prince Deacon back, ‘not at all. I am just telling Clarissa what happened.
‘Tell her I say thank you for saving Wynn’s life,’ Prince Deacon ordered him.
“Prince Deacon says thank you for saving Wynn’s life,” Fredrick repeated.
“Is his mind linked with you?” Clarissa confirmed.
“Yes,” Fredrick said.
‘Tell her to go home, that she should not try to come to my bed again,’ Prince Deacon mind linked.
“He says you should go home and not go to his bed again,” Fredrick said with a confused look on his face.
“Why does he not come and tell me himself?” Clarissa spat.
‘Fredrick, I gave you an order to help me corner Jessica,’ Prince Deacon reminded him.
“I will be back. I have to help Prince Deacon catch his runaway bride,” Fredrick said, speeding off.
“Prince Deacon got married?” Clarissa asked to ears that were long gone.
Furious, Clarissa booked an Uber to the airport so that she can catch a flight home.
‘I am lost,’ Jessica mind linked Mr. Ondrink.*
