Chapter 46

Jessica woke up one night and went to the bathroom. While in the bathroom, she felt a cold draft coming from above. She put the lid of the toilet down and stood on it to try and figure out where the draft was coming from.
‘Definitely from the ceiling, she thought and pressed against the wood planks. ‘OMW!’ Jessica thought when the plank lifted up without effort. ‘Whoever build this place must have not trusted whomever they build it for,’ Jessica thought as she felt another plank.
Jessica carefully moved the planks aside and pulled herself up into the ceiling. Once in the attic, she positioned the planks carefully back. Jessica looked around in the dark but didn’t have to use her wolf sight because the attic had two windows, one that was open that caused the draft. The half-cut moon gave enough light to the attic.
‘Is the vampire around?’ She wondered if he was out feeding somewhere since she did hear him leave before she fell asleep. ‘What if I didn’t hear him come back?’
Jessica listened carefully and decided she needed to be sure. Jessica went back to the room where the vampire was holding her and banged on the door, “I am hungry again.”
After waiting a bit, she banged again and again but got no answer. “Good,” she said out loud and rushed to the bathroom and made her way out again. Jessica climbed through one of the windows and stood on the roof. ‘At least I am still in Alaska,’ she looked around at the snow.
Jessica wondered if she could jump down and then decided it was best to shift as the chances of getting hurt were less in wolf form. Jessica took her clothes off and shivered in the cold.
She tied her clothing in a bundle and threw her clothes down first before shifting into her wolf form. ‘Here goes nothing,’ she thought and jumped. Jessica landed on all fours and picked up her clothes in her mouth before running in a random direction. After running until she could no more, she realized that she could die out here since she was not sure where exactly she was. Jessica backtracked in exactly the same direction she came so that it looks as if she disappeared into thin air.
‘I will hide out in the attic. Perhaps the fool will think me gone and leave, then I can search the house for some answers as to where I am,’ she thoughts as she made her way back to the cabin.
‘How the hell am I going to get back up there,’ Jessica thought, looking around for a way up.
Jessica jumped towards the roof and part shifted to give her paws claws so that she can grab onto something. Her plan worked, and she managed to get back onto the roof. Jessica finished her shift into human form and quickly put on her clothes before climbing back through the window. Jessica shut the window completely.
Jessica was waiting for the Vampire to return and discover her gone, but when he did return, he didn’t even check up on her. Jessica drifted off to sleep and woke up a few hours later when she heard Ann’s familiar voice.
‘Ann?’ Jessica sat up and listened. Jessica overheard what was going on and even though she wanted to help Ann right away, she felt that since the Vampire didn’t do anything to her, he won’t do anything to Ann so she decided to wait for the Vampire to leave again.

Merch stopped at the end of the track that Jessica left and wondered what had happened to her. He looked around but could not find more tracks. ‘Did she go up?’ Merch wondered, and studied the sky.
Merch looked back in the direction that the tracks came from and wondered if she went back. ‘No, why would she?’
‘Best I get out of here. Hopefully, by informing the new Vampire king where his woman is and making him believe it was part of my plan, then perhaps I can get back to my life. Perhaps I should just leave now? Screw this and screw pretty Ann,’ Merch decided, and sped off towards his own nest. ‘I will deal with Soraya when she least expects it.’

The vampire was phasing up and down the cabin, wondering what he was going to do if Jessica does not come for her friend.
‘I might as well enjoy the human, compel her to forget and go into hiding,’ the vampire came to a decision as he stopped in front of the door that stood between him and Ann.
‘Who even says that Torvald will get anyone to set him free?’ the vampire thought. ‘What if I set him free? I was not there when everyone promised not to set him free. Perhaps he will forgive me for losing the princess. What does he want with her in any case?’ the vampire went over it in his head.
Ann and Jessica realized that the Vampire was not phasing up and down anymore and listened.
Both their eyes stretched, and both held their breath when they heard him opening the door.
“Hey pretty human,” the vampire started stepping into the room that held Ann.
“Let me guess, you want to feed off me?” Ann asked sarcastically.
“Will that be a problem?” the vampire asked, keeping his distance.
“As long as you promise that I can drink from you afterward,” Ann said and held out her arm.
“Really?” the vampire asked in disbelief.
“Sure,” Ann said and wondered if she could attempt to drink a lot of blood from him to knock him out.
“Bon appétit,” Ann said with a smile.
The vampire sped over and kneeled next to her before taking her arm with both hands. He looked into her eyes and wondered, ‘will I have to compel her to have sex with her?’
He sank his teeth into her and drank slowly, waiting for the venom to run through her veins.
‘Typical Ann, always ready to feed a bloody vampire,’ Jessica thought and relaxed.
Ann felt intoxicated and relaxed, letting it consume her.
Ann felt the vampire fiddling with her the buttons of her coat but didn’t stop him.
After opening her coat, he unbuttoned the jersey she was wearing underneath before putting his hands under her shirt. His called hands jerked her back to reality. “What are you doing?” Ann gasped and tried to scoot away, barely able to move as she was intoxicated.
‘Crap.’ Jessica sat up at the sound of Ann’s distress.
“Shh, just relax,” the vampire whispered. Ann felt her chest for her shaman necklace, but it was not there.
“Don’t make a sound. Let me enjoy you,” the vampire compelled her into a whisper.
“Ok,” Ann said even though she didn’t want the vampire to touch her.
‘Should I go help her?’ Jessica listened for anything that might indicate that Ann needed her help as she didn’t hear the vampire’s whispers.
Ann moaned as the vampire touched her with his cold hands. He pressed his cold hard body against her warm exposed body and took a moment to look into her eyes, wiping the hair from her face, “you are so beautiful.”
Even though his touch was cold, him, rubbing his body against her womanhood added to her pleasure.
Jessica heard Ann moan. ‘Well, at least one of us is enjoying ourselves. Who would have thought Ann would just give it up to someone she does not even know? She is so obsessed with vampires,’ Jessica thought and laid down. ‘Can’t believe she is just going to do it with the same vampire that abducted me. What kind of friend is she?’

The vampire tucked at Ann’s pants while hot tears ran down her face. “Oh, don’t cry pretty thing, you will enjoy it,” he said loud enough for Jessica to hear.
Jessica jumped up when she heard what the vampire said and realized that he must have somehow compelled her from the start, ‘how did I not hear him compel her?’ Jessica turned towards the loose planks and then changed her mind when she saw the trap door, ‘best he does not know how I escaped in the first place.’
Jessica pulled open the trapdoor that led to the kitchen of the cabin and lowered herself down as there was no ladder. Her landing with a thump on the wood floors got the Vampire’s attention.
The vampire jumped away from Ann, “there you are princess.”
He sped over and grabbed Jessica and flung her towards the room that was her former prison. He shut the door and leaned against it, ‘thank goodness I got the princess back. I won’t be able to leave here again, but at least I have a blood supply now,’ he thought, not the least disappointed that he didn’t have his way with Ann.
“Ann,” Jessica cried, and started to button up her jersey and then her coat.
“You are ok,” Ann said relieved.
“I am fine. Are you ok?” Jessica asked, looking her over.
“Yeah. That vamp owes me a drink of blood,” Ann chuckled and sat up.
“That vamp almost raped you!” Jessica exclaimed.
“You shouldn’t have come back for me,” Ann said, barely able to see Jessica in the dark.
“I never left,” Jessica whispered as softly as she could near Ann’s ear.
“What?” Ann asked, confused.
“Shh,” Jessica said and retrieved Ann’s necklace.
“Here, it was on the kitchen floor,” Jessica whispered again as softly as possible and gave Ann her shaman necklace.
“Why did you let him drink from you? Are you addicted to the vampire bite?” Jessica scolded.
“I thought I could drink him half to death. I didn’t realize that I was not wearing my neckless anymore,” Ann explained.
Both heard the vampire chuckle at Ann’s words.
Jessica rolled her eyes at the sound of the vampire.
“Let’s get some rest. No use trying to get out of here when you are short blood,” Jessica whispered and laid down next to Ann.
“I know I should be scared, but I am not. I swear there is something wrong with me. I wasn’t scared the day I met Michael, and I wasn’t scared at the higher council. Actually, I was scared when Eero attacked me though,” Ann chuckled.
“I heard that Eero might come to live with you guys,” Jessica said.
“No. He is going with my dad to find Prehistoric and integrate them the right way before letting them roam the world,” Ann corrected her.
“Stella must be very upset about the fact that they can’t be together. Michael is putting a ban on all hunter-hunter relationships to prevent more hunters from being born,” Jessica chuckled.
“That is good news for Ami,” Ann said, smiling.
“How so?” Jessica questioned.
“Because she is like madly in love with him,” Ann chuckled.
“I thought that they are like best friends only,” Jessica said, frowning in the dark.
“They actually had sex, but they were both drunk and, according to Ami, he does not remember it,” Ann said.
“That sucks for her,” Jessica said.
“I know, right,” Ann said and wondered if Ami was out looking for her.
***
Ami was in the living room with Ann’s mother, Mrs. Willow, trying to calm her down with a cup of tea. “Mr. Willow will find her.”
“I can’t believe it. First Jessica and now Ann,” Mrs. Willow sobbed.
The front door opened and Eljo, Mr. Willow, walked in, Eero right behind him.
“Eero?” Ami exclaimed at the sight of him.
“Meet my long distant cousin’s son, Eero,” Eljo introduced Eero and hoped that his wife will accept his story since Eero was the split image of him and Ann.
“Hi,” Mrs. Willow greeted him. Her eyes were puffy and red from crying.
“We are going up the mountains to go look for Jessica,” Eljo said and walked to the coat closet in the passage.
“Ann is also missing,” Mrs. Willow said, rushing after him, stopping him in his tracks.
“What?” Eljo asked, giving Ami a questioning look as if she was responsible for keeping Ann safe.
“She, um, well,” Ami tried to explain and looked from Mrs. Willow to Eljo and knew that she can’t just talk in front of Mrs. Willow.
“Honey, sit down.” Eljo took his wife and led her to the living room.
Ami walked over to Eero and dragged him upstairs to Ann’s room.
“You lost my sister?” were the first words that came out of Eero’s mouth behind the closed door.
“She left here, saying she is going to Michael to get an update, but she never came back. So, I went to the vampire nest and was told that she left with another vampire. So, she is not actually abducted, but she has been gone for longer than a day. The vampire is apparently the best tracker known alive, but how am I supposed to tell that to her mother?” Ami explained.
“Well, that is a relieve to know,” Eero said.
“Sorry about you and Stella,” Ami said.
“What do you mean?” Eero asked with a frown.
“I heard Michael is banning all hunter-hunter relationships,” Ami said.
“Thank goodness for that,” Eero chuckled.
“What do you mean, ‘thank goodness,’ don’t you love her?” Ami asked, confused, studying his face.
“There is only one person I love and, well, she does not love me back. So, there is that. Stella is a pain in the ass and now she does not have a choice but to let me go,” Eero explained, and pulled Ami away from the door. Thinking Ami must be in town because all flocks has been orderd to search for Jessica.
“I need to go tell my dad that his daughter is not really missing,” Eero chuckled and left the room.
“You never told me that there is someone you love. When did this happen?” Ami said and ran after Eero.
Eero stopped mid-flight of stairs and turned to face Ami, ready to tell her she was the girl he loved but then he thought, ‘it will just ruin whatever is left of our friendship.’ “Aren’t you supposed to be with your new flock and mate? What are you doing here?”
“New flock? Mate? As if my mother will ever allow that,” Ami chuckled.
“But your mom,” Eero started and then swallowed his words, thinking, ‘her mom lied to me to get me away from her.’
Eero decedent down the rest of the stairs and met his father at the front door.
“Go and calm my wife down. After all these years of telling her about the supernatural world, one would think she would handle it better, but I guess not,” Eljo said to Ami, that was still at the top of the stairs.
“Because she never believed you. She always thought you were joking. She once joked about it calling it your crazy ideas but I guess shifting into my owl form in front of her will make it sink in?” Ami asked permission.
“Sure,” Eljo said and left with Eero.
Eero explained to his father what Ami told him about Ann on their way to the vampire nest while Ami shifted in front of Mrs. Willow, almost giving her a heart attack.
