Chapter 11
Jessica was glad that the smoke of before was gone and only a fireplace burning with the smoke directed through a chimney out of the Igloo.
Jessica noticed all eyes on her. Mr. Ondrink signaled her to take some food, “you have to take food first for yourself and then you have to give food to everyone else.”
“How should I know how much they want to eat?” Jessica asked, unsure.
“Trust your instincts, you are linked to everyone, try and listen to their thoughts.”
Jessica took a small portion of what looked like meat and put it aside. She decided to start with Mr. Ondrink and felt kind of bad for having to use her hands.
‘I am honored to be served by your hands,’ she heard Mr. Ondrink’s thoughts.
Jessica placed food from three different bowls into Mr. Ondrinks bowl, ‘thank you, that is more than enough,’ she heard him again. She smiled and dished for the next person. She was about to dish for a woman, ‘no, princess, you have to dish for the men first,’ she heard the woman, stopping her from dishing for the woman. Jessica smiled and Mr. Ondrink and everyone else heard her thoughts. ‘In-equality? Not under my watch. You want me to be your Alpha? Then I will decide who I serve first.’ Jessica thought, knowing everyone could hear her thoughts. She took the plate from Mr. Ondrink and gave it to the woman; she then purposely served all the other women first. She decided not to serve the men.
“Any ritual before we start eating?” Jessica asked, looking at one of the women.
One of the men was about to answer when she raised her hand to silence him, “I asked her, not you.”
Mr. Ondrink mind linked Jessica so that only she can hear him, “are you sure you want to start your rein like this?”
“Yes, I am sure. Now if there is nothing else, let us eat,” she demanded the woman and started to eat her own food, just realizing how hungry she was.
After eating Jessica's dish for the men and took her leave, stretching her legs outside the Igloo, the coldness refreshed her air paths as she took a deep breath.
She was relieved not to see any villagers outside. She noticed a wolf, “why are you not in human form?” she asked out loud, but the wolf just barked at her, wagging her tail.
Mr. Ondrink came out of the Igloo, “that is just a wolf.”
“Will you please train me now, to keep the pack out of my head?” she asked.
“Yes, we have tonight, as I need to take you back home by tomorrow,” Mr. Ondrink walked over to another, smaller Igloo.
After hours of training, “I need a break,” Jessica complaint, a sweat drop running off her brow.
“Rest, we can continue in the morning,” Mr. Ondrink said, and took his leave.
Jessica laid back on the floor bed, looking up she noticed the Spirit Wolf.
“Sorry that you had to die for me,” Jessica talked to the Spirit Wolf, sad.
She noticed a soft look and warm glowing eyes from the wolf and a felt reassurance reach her. She felt a calmness and no regret coming from the Spirit Wolf. After a while of staring at the Spirit Wolf, she drifted off to sleep.

Miles away from Jessica, Ann sat in her bedroom, reading up on her father’s discoveries over the past years, trying to find any information on Prehistoric Vampires. Her parents did not know she had access to their private Online Cloud storage. She found lots of footage of people that are frozen in ice and was shocked how her father could just kill so cold-heartedly.
Her father told her that they are dangerous, but she felt that Michael was not dangerous. ‘Perhaps it was the circumstances I found him under, with the invisible wall protecting me,’ she wondered.
Monday morning at school Jessica was waiting for Ann against her locker.
Ann noticed Jessica and a frown crept up her face.
“What do you want?” Ann asked, still angry at Jessica’s betrayal from last week.
“I need your help. I have to find Wynn.”
“Loverboy has left town and they are not coming back,” Ann slamed her locker shut, and walked away.
“I can smell a vampire on you, and it is not someone I have met before,” Jessica said, making Ann stop in her tracks.
“What do you want with Wynn,”
“I want to un-mate, all I think about is him and I need to break the bond as soon as possible. Did he say where he is going?”
“No, but Shysie said they are going to the higher council. But you don’t believe in all this nonsense, now do you?” Ann asked sarcastically.
“It is not a joke. I am a bloody Werewolf! I am an Alpha Princess!” Jessica informed Ann.
“Your highness, I beg your pardon,” Ann continued to be sarcastic.
“Help me or I will tell your dad about this Vampire I smell on you,”
“Fine, we have school break in a week then we can make a plan,” Ann said with her hands on her hips.
“Count me in, I need to talk to Shysie,” William said walking up to them.
“The more the merrier,” Jessica said before walking off.
During the week Ann, Jessica, and William met up several times at the library to do research for their trip as not one of them had a clue where the council was. One day after their meeting at the library Ann sneaked off to go see Michael.

“You are planning a trip to the council?” Michael asked, interested to go along.
“Yeah, but we don’t know where it is,” Ann said, getting ready to leave.
“Release me from the compound and I will go found vampires in neighboring towns, perhaps they will tell me where the council is,” Michael tried his luck.
“If you are willing to promise to not harm anyone or compel a human then fine, I will release you from the compound,”
“Fine, I promise,”
“Not good enough, I am not stupid,” Ann said, about to leave.
“I promise not to harm anyone or to compel a human,” Michael promised.
“Also promise that you will be back by tomorrow,”
“I promise to be back by tomorrow,” Michael sighed.
As soon as Ann left, Michael sped off. Instead of going to nearby towns, he went towards the mountains. Michael spent most of his time searching for prehistoric vampires but found none.
After hours of searching, he made his way to the first town. He could effortlessly tell the vampires from the humans. He followed a female Vampire to her compound.
Michael knew that he was also being followed and he could sense that the female Vampire was aware of him. Michael stopped abruptly and turned around to face the Vampire following him head-on.
“Why are you following her?” the Vampire asked before Michael could talk.
“I want to see where your compound is, I need some information,” Michael said, not feeling intimidating at all by the fact that he could sense several vampires closing in on him.
“Do you come from a dress-up party or what?” the Vampire mocked Michael's appearance.
“I am a prehistoric vampire, unfroze about a week ago,” he answered.
The Vampires hiding in the shadows made themselves known.
“Prove it!” One Vampire demanded.
“Michael walked up to the Vampire that asked him to prove it. Michael looked at the blond hair skinny-looking Vampire in front of him. Michael looked him up and down and decided that his outfit won’t fit him. Michael looked around at the other male Vampires. He turned away from the skinny-looking Vampire and walked towards a Vampire male that looked about his size, also with blond hair.
“Take off your clothing and give it to me,” Michael compelled the Vampire. The rest of the Vampires started to laugh but quickly swallowed their laughs when their Nest Leader obeyed.
“Thank you, now take me to your compound so that I can clean up,” Michael compelled the Nest Leader again.
“Wait!” a pretty-looking female vampire with blue eyes and long brown hair demanded.
“You come with us, the rest of you stay right here,” Michael compelled them all.
“How is this even possible?” She asked with panic.
“How should know? Have you never compelled a fellow Vampire before?” Michael asked the young female Vampire.
“It is not possible. Only prehistoric Vampires can. That is why the council created the hunters to find them in the ice and kill them before they come alive”, the Nest Leader told the female Vampire.
“I am not here to do harm, I just want to know the location of the Council and I will be on my way after cleaning up,” Michael assured them sensing the fear in them.
“Can I have my clothing back?” the Nest Leader asked as they approached the compound.
“No, I like it, I will wear it after cleaning up,” Michael said with a smug.
It did not take Michael long to get clean up. He was sitting in the modernly decorated living room waiting for the Vampires to join him when a human in his mid-twenties offered himself as food to Michael. “No thank you, I feed on only one human.”
“Willingly?” the Nest Leader asked, disappointed that his plan to poison the Prehistoric Vampire did not work.
Michael made a quick movement and grabbed the Nest Leader by his throat, “Where is the council?”
Being compelled the Nest leader answered, defenseless against the power Michael held over him, “Hudson Heights!”
Michael needed no more information as he saw Ann researching it on her computer when he drank from her. Knowing that she will know where it was, he sped off.
Michael did not care about the fact that he left half a nest of vampires stranded in one place.
He got back to the compound on the outskirts of Borrow and waited for Ann.
Dario and his nest were on their way to the Compound of the Vampire Nest that was hosting them after a night out in the small town.
“Hey, guys, what’s up?” Dario asked the group of Vampires standing around awkwardly not far from their compound.
“We have been compelled by a Vampire,” one said angrily.
“Prehistoric Vampire,” another corrects.
“Are you for real?” Hannah gasped, knowing all too well the danger.
“He didn’t do anything else. And he spoke English?” Dario asked confused.
“He said himself he is prehistoric, he was dressed like it as well,” the skinny blond Vampire said.
“He must then already feed on humans,” Dario responded worriedly.
Hannah reached for her neckless, she hummed the de-compelling hymn while moving the little holder filled with herbs over the first Vampire. Not long and all the Vampires were set free. They quickly sped off to the compound one by one as they became free.
Dario and his nest, including Shysie, Wynn, and Paris also made their way to the compound with their humans in arms.
“We need to get to the council before the Prehistoric Vampire does,” the Nest leader said in a hurry.
“I will go, I have to report there in a week’s time in any case, might as well go now, will keep you updated,” Dario said.
Dario turned to Hannah, “buy the tickets for you and the humans that have qualified to become Vampires and meet me at the Council in a week’s time for the ceremony,” he said with both his hands on either side of Hannah’s face. He landed a soft kiss on her lips and embraced her.
Hannah managed to swallow back her tears. Dario sped off, going over his head the time zones and the hideouts, but calculating that by the time he reached Toronto it will be just before Sunrise so he will have to stay over at their Toronto residence.
Dario made it to his residence in Toronto just in time. His nest also had a compound, but Hannah loved the city lights at night and convinced him to buy a Penthouse.
Dario made his way into the building. He chose this building because it had an entry by keypad with no doorman. They passed through here only a couple of months ago when his Nest fled the Council. Only the members of his nest know about his Penthouse as Dario always shared everything with them, what was his was theirs. He entered his Penthouse and stood in front of the window in the living room, in time to watch the sunrise. The windows were doubled tinted which allowed for Vampires to enjoy daytime with only a hint of sweat.
