Chapter 212

“How many other women did you mistreat like this? My mother?” Jeanette reminded him that he was a monster.

“She betrayed me and well when I did this to you, I was angry and jealous,” Mateo said, feeling ashamed and hoping that she will not un mate.

“He has a point,” Phoebe sided with Mateo.

“Are you taking his side?” Jeanette asked in disbelieve.

“My mother got killed just for having me while married to one of your real uncles, so this is nothing compared to what your true family has done. So, do you want me to take you to the higher council to meet your real family?” Phoebe asked.

“She is related to the Lycan royals?” Mateo asked, shocked.

“Why do you insist on using that term? And yes, she is,” Phoebe said.

“I am your real family,” Mateo said, taking Jeanette's hand.

‘What if this is just a trap? What if you enslave me and continue to punish me?’ Jeanette mind linked him, her eyes on him.

“His, right, you are probably better off here than at the council. Your grandmother has only one objective and that is to ensure the continuation of your royal bloodline,” Phoebe informed her.

“I still want to meet my real family,” Jeanette said.

“Ok,” Phoebe picked Jeanette up and speed away with her before more time gets wasted conversing back and forth.

A few days later they arrived in America.

“Is there a way for me to be around them without them knowing who I really am?” Jeanette asked.

“Unfortunately they might already know about you. I am fated to one of the royal brothers and he already saw you in my mind and the King and Queen can see his,” Phoebe explained, while they wait, standing in front of the castle doors.

‘Keep safe my darling,’ Jeanette heard Mateo’s mind link.

Jeanette rolled her eyes at him before walking up to the large doors.

“Welcome home Princess Phoebe and Princess Heidi,” a man said opening the door.

“Heidi?” Jeanette asked.

“Guess they are expecting you. Heidi is the name your parents gave you, or should I say, Queen Lana, your grandmother, gave you,” Phoebe said, wondering if it was safe for her to enter.

‘It is safe, you have already founded two of their stolen princesses and got in contact with Princess Anse which is more than anyone here has accomplished in decades and besides, the Queen owes you for killing your mother, well, and your father,’ Prince Mano mind linked her.

‘Don’t remind me,’ Phoebe felt her heart crying at the loss of her parents that she never even got to know in person. She was glad that she can get glimpses of her mother in Prince Manors mind and Princess Freda did allow her to drink from her to see her father.

Lines of people bowed their heads at the two women as they make their way through the Lycan throne room.

“Wow, I guess you must be really important,” Jeanette said at all the heads bowing down to them.

“That is for you,” Phoebe chuckled.

Queen Lana stood up from her royal throne, tears already running down her face, “darling granddaughter.”

Before Jeanette knew what was happening the Queen’s arms were around her.

“Let me look at you,” Queen Lana said putting her hands at the side of Jeanette's face.

“Bleidd’s daughter,” she announced looking at Jeanette when she saw the small little freckle at the side of her right eye that was more like a birthmark than a freckle.

“How did you know that?” Phoebe asked.

“They have the same birthmark,” Queen Lana said smiling, turning her attention to Phoebe.

Queen Lana put her hands on either side of Phoebe’s face, “thank you my darling granddaughter.”

“I am not your granddaughter,” Phoebe said taking the queen's hands off her face.

“Daughter-In-Law?” Queen Lana tried a different approach, knowing that she has not yet claimed Prince Mano and right now was their only chance at continuing the royal bloodline.

Phoebe just took a deep breath and walked over to Prince Mano. “a word please,” she said, taking him by his hand and dragging him out of the throne room.

“I am so happy to have you back and safe,” Prince Mano said, holding onto her hand.

“This fated mate bond has been growing on you. Time we end it before it is undoable,” Phoebe said, as they walked through the sunroom into the gardens.

“Why do you have to ruin such a good day? I would have liked to see Prince Bleidd being reunited with his daughter,” Prince Mano said, a little bit disappointed that she wanted to un-mate as he has enjoyed sharing his thoughts with her, almost as if being fated to her was his second chance with her mother.

“Can you guess which one of these men is your father?” Queen Lara asks, turning her to face King Makens, Prince Bleidd, Prince Vance, and Prince Kurt.

“The one with the big smile looking like he is about to jump out of his skin,” Jeanette pointed at Bleidd, and not a moment later he strides over with three big steps and picked her up, and swirled her around.

“My lord, you are beautiful!” He exclaimed.

“Can you believe she is my daughter?” Prince Bleidd asks after putting her down and looking at her in awe.

‘Crap, is he going to turn all Mateo on me? This time, it will actually be really weird,’ Jeanette thought.

“I wish your mother was here to see you!” Prince Bleidd said, pulling her into a hug again.

“I wish that too,” Jeanette said.

“Come, we have a few paintings of her, “Prince Bleidd said, about to walk her over to the first one.

“There is plenty of time for that,” Queen Lara says, stopping him in his tracks and taking Jeanette by her hand.

“Princess Heidi, now tell me when will we be meeting your fated mate? I see he has not claimed you yet. Does he have siblings? Direct cousins?” Queen Lana asked, walking off with her.

“Seriously, mother? Down to business already?” Prince Bleidd spoke up.

“We just mated a few nights ago. He is Alpha of the largest pack in Spain,” Jeanette answered.

‘A strong pack, I take it?” Queen Lana asked even though she already knew Mateo.

“Yes, especially since Mateo and a few pack members are hybrids,” Jeanette said.

‘Don’t tell her anymore!’ Mateo mind linked her in fear that they will find out that they turned without permission.

“I didn’t know Alpha Mateo is even a royal, let alone a hybrid,” Queen Lara says with a frown on her face.

“Bastard child of Queen Isabella I. So you know of Mateo?” Jeanette ask, remembering what Mateo said.

“Yes, pity he is a hybrid,” Queen Lana said.

“Why?” Jeanette asked, not expecting what will come out of the queen’s mouth.

“Hybrids can not reproduce,” the queen said.

“As if that would have made a difference,” Jeanette laughed.

“What do you mean?” Queen Lana said, bringing their walk to a halt.

“My father, I mean Mateo, is like over 500 years old and childless,” Jeanette said.

“Interesting. How did Mateo end up becoming your father? And how come you only mated now?” Queen Lana asked, continuing their walk into the gardens.

“My mother said I was left on their doorstep here in America when they were hiding out during the human war,” Jeanette explained.

“Do you want children?” Queen Lana asked.

“I will have to adopt since Mateo can not have children,” Jeanette said.

“So, you are not bothered by the fact that you won’t have your own blood and flesh?” Queen Lana asked.

“I have not given it much thought,” Jeanette admits.

“You can still un-mate with Mateo and we will find you a worthy mate that can give you your own children,” Queen Lana added.

‘Oh, boy, so it begins,’ Jeanette thought to herself, feeling Mateo’s anger.

“Is there not another way? I have heard that Hunter babies have been made here?” Jeanette asked.

“There are always ways. We should be heading back into the castle,” Queen Lana said, turning them around.

“Tell your mate we are expecting him real soon. I will arrange a claiming ceremony for the two of you?” Queen Lana said but thought something different, ‘Perhaps I can arrange an accidental death or a reason to execute him?’

“How long has Mateo been a hybrid?” Queen Lana asked, not remembering Mateo becoming a hybrid under her watch or with her permission.

‘Don’t answer that!’ Mateo warned her.

“I don’t know,” Jeanette lied

Queen Lana picked up on her unease and realized that she was hiding something. “normally we are connected to all the wolves here at the castle and I would like to link with you, just in case.”

“In case of what?” Jeanette asked.

“I don’t want to lose you again,” Queen Lana said, eager to get into her head.

‘Don’t,’ Mateo warned her.

‘Stop telling me what to do,’ Jeanette warned Mateo back through a mind link.

Jeanette gave a small wave to Phoebe and Prince Manor, sitting on a garden bench, looking as if they were having a heated argument.
