Chapter 72

Ann and Michael got to class and took their seats away from each other; Michael his usual; that was next to Deacon that was not in class and Ann, next to Jessica near the front of the class.
“You were saying something about top of her class?” Jessica chuckled when Ann sat next to her.
“I just had the most incredible sex,” Ann whispered.
“Good for you,” Jessica said.
“I see I am not the only one late for class today,” Ann said, looking over her shoulders at Michael that had a few empty seats around him.
“Mr. Lestat is also late,” Jessica remarked, not noticing that instead of coming in from the front of the class he came in at the student entrance and was standing right behind her.
“Jessica Steel scored the highest for the first essay,” he said and deliberately touched her shoulder before dropping her essay onto her table.
‘MATE,’ Jessica felt ripping through her soul and looked up at Mr. Lestat.
Mr. Lestat moved on to give Ann her essay back and continued to hand out the rest of the class.
‘What happened to me?’ Jessica wondered, having no memory of the weekend. The last thing she remembered was that she collapsed in pain thinking she was going to die in the bathroom.
‘I don’t smell that Mr. Lestat is a lycan, but I just fated to him?’ Jessica asked herself, confused, looking at Mr. Lestat that appeared not to have a clue about it.
“Are you ok?” Ann asked Jessica that looked white in her face.
“Think I had too much to drink the weekend,” Jessica said.
“That is what you get for leaving me all alone all weekend long,” Ann chuckled in a whisper.
Jessica could not keep her eyes off Mr. Lestat and eagerly waited for break that took forever to come around.
Jessica waited for the class to clear before shutting the door and locking it. Walking over to his desk where he was casually sitting on with his arms folded, she took her clothes off, leaving them where they fall.
Jessica stopped in front of him, studying his face, wondering what he was and why did she fate to him.
“Are you just going to stand there?” Mr. Lestat broke the silence and reached out to touch her, but Jessica stepped out of reach.
“Break is way too short for games,” Mr. Lestat chuckled and walked around his table, taking his seat.
‘Is he playing games?’ Jessica wondered. ‘Does he know what happened?’ Jessica walked to him and put her legs on either side of him before lowering herself to his lap, her hands already undoing his pants, desperate to have him, desperate to forget the pain Deacon caused.
Jessica’s lips met him, and she positioned herself onto his erect manhood.
“Whoever your ex is you should thank him for teaching you so well,” Mr. Lestat said after they had sex, watching her get dressed.
Jessica chuckled. ‘If only he knew he is but my second,’ she thought and wondered if she would have fated to Wynn again if she saw him first. ‘Where is Wynn and Deacon?’ she wondered.
“Where have you been all morning?” Ami asked Wynn when he sat down next to her in class, after the break.
“Deacon is gone,” Wynn whispered as his eyes fell on Ann and the dark head, looking like Jessica. “Is that Jessica?” Wynn asked.
“What does it look like?” Ami chuckled.
Wynn got up without a word and walked over to where Jessica was sitting and without warning grabbed her arm and pulled her up from her chair.
“What the hell?” Jessica exclaimed. “Wynn?” Jessica questioned, confused.
“Come with me,” Wynn said, and half-forced walked her out of the class.
“What the hell?” Ann asked.
“It’s fine,” Jessica said over her shoulder to Ann, not wanting Ann to follow her as she had a few questions herself.
Some of the students whispered under their breath at the scene in front of them. Ami wondered if she should follow them or not but then instead decided to join Ann.
“What is going on?” Ann asked Ami.
“Something to do with Deacon, I guess,” Ami chose her words carefully.
“They broke up,” Ann reminded Ami.
“I know,” Ami responded, not sure what else to say.
“I noticed you and that Wynn guy have been spending a lot of time together,” Ann whispered with a smile.
“We are just friends,” Ami said, her cheeks turning red.
“If you say so. I just can’t believe how quickly you got over Eero. I thought the two of you were going to get married,” Ann said, remembering how in love the two of them were.
“And I thought you are going to marry Paris,” Ami chuckled, reminding her that she jumped from Paris to Michael overnight.
“Are staying in the house that you and Eero were going to live together in?” Ann changed the subject.
“Yes, but I want to sell it. It is lonely there,” Ami lied. She has been staying at the higher council with Wynn.
“Our roommate ran off with Paris so you should move in with Jessica and me,” Ann said as if it didn’t bother her.
“Katelina ran off with Paris?” Ami choked, not believing her ears. ‘Paris loves Ann,’ Ami thought, confused. ‘What on earth is going on?’ Ami thought.
“Good afternoon, class,” the professor greeted, walking into the class, bringing them to silence.

“Deacon is gone,” Wynn told Jessica.
“What?” Jessica gasped with her hands over her mouth, thinking Wynn meant he was dead.
“I promise I have nothing to do with it,” Jessica started to cry.
“You slept with Mr. Lestat. That really fucked him up,” Wynn accused but relieved to see Jessica well and alive.
“What about him sleeping with Emily? Over and over?” Jessica wiped the tears that got replaced with fresh tears.
“Because you kept on rejecting him, even after falling in love with him,” Wynn scolded her.
“He was the one trying to kill me!” Jessica tried to defend herself. “The last thing I remember is passing out in the bathroom from the pain,” she continued to state her case. “I woke up in my bed this morning feeling a sense of freedom. I didn’t even realize I was not mated to Deacon anymore. I didn’t even feel any sense of loss, whatsoever.”
“That is strange,” Wynn said with a frown on his face.
“Can a lycan be fated to a human?” Jessica asked Wynn, still having a lot to learn about the supernatural world.
“Yes, it happens mostly with lycan’s that have alpha or royal blood. Why?” Wynn asked.
“I fated to Mr. Lestat this morning, but I don’t think he knows,” Jessica explained.
“You fated?” Wynn asked, confused.
“Yes, with Mr. Lestat,” Jessica repeated.
“He does kind of look as if he could be of some sort of royal heritage, but he is defiantly not supernatural,” Wynn assured her since he would have caught it by his scent.
“What do I do now?” Jessica questioned.
“Take a vampire with you and un-mate with him and then let the vampire compel him to forget,” Wynn suggested.
“Why? Won't the supernatural world need a new king now?” Jessica asked, worried, fearing that Michael might take that position now.
“They won’t accept a human,” Wynn said and walked off.
“Where are you going?” Jessica called after him.
“I have to go find Deacon. He thinks he killed you,” Wynn said and sped off.
‘So, Deacon is not dead? What did he mean by gone?’ Jessica frowned and felt somewhat relieved that Deacon was not dead for two reasons; one, she did not wish him dead, and two, she didn’t want Michael to have a chance at being king of the supernatural world since she doubted her parents will ever return to the higher council as King and Queen.
“Jessica, honey, everything ok?” Jovita, her biological mother that was as young as she, questioned.
“I am fine. Somehow, Deacon and I are no longer fated mates, yet both of us are still alive,” Jessica explained.
“I heard he ran off, yet Emily is at the higher council, so he is not with her,” Juno, her father, stated.
“He must have run off thinking he killed me,” Jessica chuckled.
“What? That is not funny! That asshole! What did he do? Did he hurt you?” Juno rumbled.
“He tried to kill me by fucking Emily day in and night out,” Jessica said. When I lost consciousness because the pain became too much, I sure as hell thought that was the end of me, but then this morning I woke up in my bed as if nothing happened,” Jessica explained.
“Are you sure you are not fated to Deacon anymore?” Jovita asked, confused, knowing there was only one way to break a claimed fated mate bond, and that was by death.
“I am sure since I already fated to someone else this morning,” Jessica said.
“With whom? Wynn again?” Juno asked, hopeful since he heard rumors go around that Wynn and Shysie were multi-shifters.
“No. Mr. Lestat,” Jessica smiled.
“The teacher, Lestat?” Juno snorted in disbelief. “A human?”
“I like him,” Jessica said.
“You should claim him before that asshole Deacon tries his luck again,” Jovita encouraged.
“Don’t encourage her. She should un-mate and mate with Wynn again,” Juno insisted.
“Wynn is fated to Ami, so too late for that,” Jovita reminded Juno.
“What?” Jessica exclaimed.
“What do you care? You just said you like Lestat,” Jovita stated, confused.
“I just didn’t know. Ami didn’t say anything,” Jessica said, wondering why she was upset about it trying to convince herself she had no feelings for Wynn. ‘Perhaps claiming Lestat will set me free from Wynn once and for all,’ Jessica thought.
