Chapter 162

Jayda’s eyes flutter open and Paris stopped her from drinking. “stop drinking.”

“You are my hero,” Jayda said, smiling at him, touching his chest, and feeling his muscles through his shirt.  Most of the women at the castle had a slight crush on Paris but he belonged to Shysie so none of them will dare act on their attraction to him.  While Shysie was on trial, some of the women even argued about how they should go about deciding who gets to pursue Paris.

“This hero is mine,” Shysie said, pulling Paris away.  “I was wondering where you ran off to,” Shysie said, wrapping her arm around Paris and walked him back to their room.

“I was thirsty,” Paris lied.  He has been with Shysie for the past eight hundred years and has always felt trapped in their love-hate relationship.

“I heard your brother was at the castle today. Did you talk to him about princess Freda that looks like you?” Paris asked.

“Not yet, there were too many ears around and he ran after prince Deacon to help look for the vampire that stole the royal baby.  It turns out it was Emily, his former human-fated mate,” Shysie said.

“I wonder who turned her and why,” Paris said as they walked into their room, a human man waiting in the room.

“Got you a surprise.  He is new,” Shysie said, presenting the human to Paris, ignoring his question about who turned Emily.  Paris did not drink from females as it made Shysie extremely jealous.

Shysie and Paris drinks from the human at the same time but Paris realized that Shysie was distracted.  After drinking Paris offered his wrist to the human, knowing that Shysie won't, as no human has ever drank from her.

Shysie walked over to their bed, and unlike every other time, she just sat on the bed, deep in thought.

“You may leave,” Paris ordered the human to leave before walking over to Shysie. “What is going on?”

“Nothing,” Shysie lied, worried for her brother and wondering if she should go visit Emily down in the cells.

“If you say so,” Paris said, laying down on the bed, expecting Shysie to make love to him as she always liked to have sex after feeding.

“I am going for a walk,” Shysie said before speeding off, not allowing Paris to ask more questions.

Shysie got to the cells and found prince Deacon there, phasing up and down. “What have you done?”

“She was in a bad state. I had to help her! Don’t pretend you don’t know how it is to love someone,” Prince Deacon spat.

“I thought the claimed fated mate bond breaks if the human mate becomes a vampire?” Shysie asked, walking over to the guard and dragging him into the cell before biting his neck open.

“What are you doing?” Prince Deacon asked, wanting to stop her.

“It is either he dies here, a painless death, bleeding to death or live to tell what you did.  Everyone will think she tricked him.  Now we are even,” Shysie said before speeding off, back to her room, hoping that Emily disappears and that prince Deacon will run after her. ‘Who knows, maybe she will kill him, and then no one will know that Wynn was the one that turned her,’ Shysie thought.

Prince Deacon saw the shaman necklace laying on the floor and puts it into his pocket before taking the one on the guard's neck off and tossing it aside.

‘I should leave. If my parents see my mind they will defiantly end my life,’ Prince Deacon thought, sniffing the air for Emily’s scent and following it.

Outside the castle, prince Deacon ran towards the outskirts that was met by woods, and saw a few figures making him stop in his tracks as he can not make out who they were.

Near the forest trees, princess Freda was holding Emily down.

“We should go now, someone is coming,” Prince Ra pointed out at the figure standing midway between the castle and the forest.

“I will see who it is,” Wynn sped off and met up with prince Deacon.

“Did you set her free? We came to rescue her. I found her at the bottom of your bedroom window, lurking,” Wynn said.

“She escaped, but I guess I would have set her free,” Prince Deacon admitted.

“Prince Ra and princess Freda will take her to Egypt,” Wynn said.

“I am coming with.  I cannot stay here as my parents will know where to find her the moment they read my mind,” Prince Deacon said and walked in the direction of the forest where princess Freda and prince Ra were holding Emily down.

“I don’t think you should go with them,” Wynn stopped him.

“I can not live without her,” Prince Deacon said, pulling away from Wynn.

“She hates you.  She wants to harm you,” Wynn said.

“Why?  I don’t understand why,” Prince Deacon asked, not stopping.

“She blames you for the death of her family and for her becoming a vampire,” Wynn said, walking after prince Deacon.

“Why me? I didn’t kill them.  I didn’t turn her,” Prince Deacon protested coming to a halt, facing Wynn with blame in his eyes.

“You are the cause of it all Deacon,” Wynn said, frustrated.

“Take me to her,” Prince Deacon asked Wynn to pick him up and speed over to her.

“She wants to kill you!” Wynn refused.

“I want her to kill me!” Prince Deacon shouted, tears running down his face, slamming on his chest, heartbroken.  ‘I cannot live without her,’ he thought.

Wynn picked him up and sped over, into the forest so that they are out of sight, princess Freda and prince Ra following them with Emily.

“You are to obey princess Freda and prince Ra.  You are not to run away or go anywhere without their permission,” Wynn ordered Emily.

Emily looked at prince Deacon, wondering why he was crying.

“Kill me as I can't live without you,” Prince Deacon said, looking into Emily’s eyes, longing for her to love him.

Princess Freda and prince Ra let go of Emily. “Do not kill him,” Princess Freda ordered.

Emily looked around at princess Freda, hissing at her in frustration, speaking through her teeth, feeling her skin boil by just the thought of wanting to kill him, “He did this to me.”

“I did it to you,” Wynn corrected, challenging her.

“He did it to me! Why didn’t he just let me be when I returned to England?!” Emily hissed at Wynn, before looking at prince Deacon again.

“I never intended for any of this to happen. I just wanted to love you,” Prince Deacon said, pleading.

“Shut up!” Emily shouted, storming prince Deacon, shoving him so hard that he fell to the ground.

“Armenia! Stop!” Princess Fey demands.

“Let her be.  If she can't love me then I might as well die,” Prince Deacon said, looking up at Emily.

Emily launched forward and on top of prince Deacon, scratching violently at his face and throat, despite the fact that her skin was boiling for disobeying and not keeping her original promise to Wynn.

Princess Freda stepped forward to pull Emily off prince Deacon but Wynn stopped her, “She will stop any moment now.”

Prince Deacon could feel the pain with every slash of her long fingernails ripping open his flesh.

“Emily if you kill him, you will always be in the pain that you are in now, your skin will boil for eternity,” Princess Freda cried.

Emily fell down on prince Deacon, her forehead meeting his, putting her hands at the side of his face, crying, “I want to kill you.”

Prince Deacon brought his hands to her face and stroked her cheeks with his thumbs before forcing a kiss onto her lips.

Emily pushed herself off him with a jumping movement and landed on both feet, wiping the kiss off her lips, “May you always know that I will never love you,” she said, not sure if she believed it herself.

“That is enough, let's go,” Prince Ra said, taking princess Freda by her hand before they speed off, Emily following them before her skin started to boil.

Prince Deacon does not stand up, he just lay there, looking through the trees, the branches dancing, revealing a half-moon.

“Come, get up,” Wynn grabbed prince Deacon and pulled him up.

“Let me be,” Prince Deacon pulled away, falling to the ground again.

“You will find a mate again and then the heartache will go away with it,” Wynn promised.

“We can't go back.  If we do, my parents will see that Emily went to Egypt and your involvement,” Prince Deacon said.

“No, they won’t.  Prince Ra gave me a contact; an enchantress that can alter our minds so that when someone pokes around it they see what you are thinking and want them to see and not the truth, even if compelled to show the truth,” Wynn said, trying to pull prince Deacon to his feet again.

“Are you insane? Enchantresses are dangerous! Who knows what else she will do to us without us even knowing,” Prince Deacon objected.

“Will you at least shift so that you can heal up?” Wynn asked.

“Let me just die,” Prince Deacon protested.

Wynn swiftly kneeled down beside prince Deacon and grabbed his shaman neckless before compelling him, “Shift into your wolf form.”
