Chapter 196

Gina arrived just in time to see the hybrids that she have been tracking come out of a house. She caught a glimpse of the Romani Gypsy and immediately knew that it was the enchantress that prince Mano told her about.
Gina waited in the dark for the hybrids to speed off, hoping that prince Mano was inside the house since she could smell his scent, but she didn't see him amongst the hybrids.
Out of fear, Gina waited another hour before sneaking closer to the house, going from window to window but she could not see anything as a spell prevented her from seeing anything inside, that and the fact that the curtains were shut.
Gina went back into the woods to wait for the morning, wondering how she was going to get into the house and if the enchantress will know that she was a vampire.
Gina was sleeping against a tree when she woke up to the sound of the front door of the house opening. She notices prince Mano running out of the house in his wolf form and then watched him sniff around before doing his business as a dog would.
‘What the hell?’ Gina thought, realizing he must be under some sort of spell.
Gina noticed that he was sniffing the air again before their eyes meet.
‘Thank goodness, he knows I am here,” Gina thought, smiling.
“What are you smelling? Should I be worried?” The enchantress asked, stepping out of the house, and looking around.
Gina placed her hand around the container hanging from her neck that had shaman mix in it, going over the shaman spell that prince Mano told her about; the one shaman Khelben used the day they escaped.
‘How does it go?' Gina was confused between the spell that set one free from a compelling and the one that sets you free from an enchantress obedient spell, ‘I will just do both,’ she decided, waiting for an opportunity.
The enchantress went back into the house but left the door open. Gina kept her eyes on prince Mano, hesitant, waiting for the right moment.
Prince Mano was spelled not to run away so he just waited, hoping Gina remembered the shaman spells he taught her. Gina feels her heart raise, pounding loud in her chest, the fear overwhelming.
‘Just go,’ she tried to will herself. It took Gina another half hour before she got herself to speed over to prince Mano and did the first hymn followed by the second one. Halfway through the second one, the enchantress came out screaming so Gina picked prince Mano up and sped off while humming.
“What on earth? How is that even possible?” The enchantress asked out loud to the hunter, thinking she saw a hybrid able to use vampire speed during brought daylight.
“What now?” the hunter asked.
“How does a hybrid use speed during the day?” the enchantress asked, knowing the hunter should have the answers because he grew up in the castle with the higher council.
“That is no hybrid, it is prehistoric. We have to inform king Thorvald,” the hunter kid suggested, walking into the house to retrieve the car keys.
“Avery, hold on a moment,” the enchantress said, walking into the house, after him.
“Kezia, listen to me; prehistoric is the most powerful kind of vampire out there. They are the real reason for my kind’s existence.
“What are you talking about?” Kezia wanted to know.
“They can compel other vampires and who knows if they can compel you or even me,” Avery asked, walking out of the house again. What the hunter does not know yet, is that he can not be compelled by a prehistoric either.
“Well, let's go found out,” Kezia said, walking over to the phone that was standing on a half-oval table next to the wall. After the enchantress made a call to the hybrids' compound, she left with Avery to go pick a few hybrids up so that they can sniff prince Mano out again.
Arriving at the compound, Avery kept his distance, knowing he will become a deadly weapon at the touch of any of the hybrids and could potentially kill all of them.
One hybrid went with them as he was the best tracker, but he did not like the fact that he had to be inside a car with a hunter, even though Avery was in the front and himself in the back.
Gina managed to set prince Mano free from the enchantress spell and they soon found themselves, as the sunset, approaching a cabin that will take a normal human a two- or three-day hike from the higher council.
Prince Mano stayed in his wolf form as he had no clothes to wear.
“There are some clothes on the washing line,” Gina pointed out at the washing line that consisted of many female garments and only a few pieces of men’s clothing.
They approach with caution and Gina took a few pieces of clothes off the line; clean ones for her and some for prince Mano, “Only one pant available.”
“That will be mine,” Prince Deacon said, standing at the back door of the cabin, wearing nothing but night pants.
“I don’t think Cassady will be too happy with you taking her favorite dress,” a woman said, wrapping her arms around prince Deacon.
Prince Deacon recognized prince Mano’s scent and his fur coat, “Mano?” He asked,  walking closer.
“You know him?” Gina asked, giving a few steps back out of fear, following prince Mano’s lead.
“If my nose and eyes are not deceiving me, then yes, I believe he is my little brother,” Prince Deacon said, walking closer, ignoring their fear.
“Come to think of it, you do kind of look the same,” Gina said.
“Only he has red hair, right?” Prince Deacon said.
“Yes. Perhaps you can give him some privacy and borrow him these pants?” Gina suggested.
“Sure, but first tell me, how did you manage to not age one bit?” Prince Deacon asked, thinking he was talking to princess Claire.
“You know me as well?” Gina asked.
“Yes, you are princess Claire, king Thorvald’s wife. He thinks you are dead, oh, no wait,… you must be her daughter,” Prince Deacon realized.
“My mother is a princess and my father a king?” Gina completely forgot about prince Mano.
“Why can I not mind link with you?” Prince Deacon bent down a bit to face prince Mano.
“It might have something to do with the enchantress that enslaved him,” Gina said.
“Give him some privacy to shift and tell us all about it,” the she-wolf suggested.
“Come inside,” Prince Deacon invited them in.
“Thank you,” Gina attempted to walk in but was met with a brick wall.
“Vampire? How come you don’t smell like one?” Prince Deacon questioned.
“Long story, guess I will wait outside,” Gina said hoping that this man will come and tell her more about who she was when he was done reuniting with his brother.
“Sorry, the owner is the only one that can invite a vampire in,” Prince Deacon said.
“You are not scared of me?” Gina asked with a frown.
“No, why would I be?” Prince Deacon asked.
“Will you come outside to tell me about who my parents are; when you are done reuniting with your brother?” Gina asked, hopeful.
“Of course,” Prince Deacon said before following prince Mano into the house.
After shifting into his human form one of the she-wolves stopped him from putting on the clean clothes, “Sorry but you smell and look like shit so perhaps a bath first?”
“Yes, please, thank you,” Prince Mano said, covering his manhood with his hands.
“Nothing we have not already seen,” she chuckled.
After prince Mano got cleaned up and dressed, he immediately went outside to be with Gina. Gina was busy washing out of a pot with hot water.
Prince Mano cleaned his throat, making his presence known, “That is my wife you are staring at.”
“Your wife?” Prince Deacon asked, shocked that his little brother was married to a vampire, or was she a hybrid since he can hear her heartbeat?
“That is correct,” Prince Mano said.
