Chapter 57
“Where are Eero and Stella going?” “Why is Eero leaving with Stella?” “Eero doesn’t like Stella.” Eero’s younger brothers inquired one after the other.
Just as they went inside the pizza arived.
“I should get back to my dorm room,” Jessica said.
“Geuss there is no gap year then?” Mrs. Willow asked even though she knew the answer.
“Do you really think it is a good idea to steal away the two woman who has been claimed by kings of the supernatural world?” Eljo spat in disbelief, disappointed that his wife don’t see how crazy her plan was.
Ann and Jessica arived back at the dorm room and found Katelina unpacking. Because Jessica has never met Katelina. Even though, human, Katelina was a prehistoric vampire. Meaning, beating heart, eating food but also drinking the blood of humans or animals to stay young.
“Hello?” Jessica questioned.
“Hi. I am Kate. Your roommate,” Katelina smiled.
“That was fast,” Ann remarked and walked over to her bed, crashing down on it.
“Rough day?” Katelina questioned and relaxed on her bed.
“None of your business,” Jessica said.
“Don’t be so rude, Jessica,” Ann chuckled. “Yes, I found out my boyfriend is married.”
“What? That sucks,” Katelina exclaimed.
“I am starved. What do you want to eat?” Jessica asked Ann, ignoring Katelina’s friend making attempt.
“I am not hungry,” Ann said, and buried her face into her pillow.
“I will take a chicken salad, please,” Katelina said, and reached for her handbag to give Jessica money but by the time she had her purse out Jessica was gone.
“Don’t worry too much about her, she will come around. Or not, Ann chuckled.
“Oh, so you two know each other than before starting here?” Katelina played dumb.
“Yes. Bestfriends,” Ann said.
“I take it you are the nice one then?” Katelina chuckled.
“Normally,” Ann laughed.
“I am ordering a chicken salad from Uber for the both of us,” Katelina said, and opened the app to order.
“You don’t take no for an answer, do you?” Ann asked sitting up.
“Normally, no,” Katelina joked.
“What are you studying?” Ann inquired.
“Bcom and you?” Katelina returned the question.
“Same but I will go in Sport Managing,” Ann said.
“That is different,” Katelina smiled.
"I am dead tired and in need of a power nap," Ann said, before drifting off.
Jessica returned and dropped Katelina’s chicken salad on her bedside table.
“Here, got you a chicken wrap and a salad,” Jessica said, not realizing Ann was sleeping.
“What?” Jessica asked when she saw the two of them looking funny.
“Nothing,” Katelina said, and canceled her order.
“Let me geuss. You thought I am a bitch?” Jessica chuckled and sat on her bed with her own chicken wrap and salad.
“Kind off,” Ann admitted with a giggle after waking up from Jessica's loud voice
“Thank you. How much do I owe you?” Katelina asked, reaching for her purse again.
“Don’t worry about it,” Jessica said, and started eating.
Ann took a bite of her salad and then put it aside. “I will eat later.”
“You haven’t eaten all day,” Jessica said.
“I am too sad. I won't be able to eat until I have spoken to Paris,” Ann said, feeling depressed.
“You are kidding, right? You really want to hear what that prick has to say?” Jessica questioned in disbelief.
“I would stick it to him and ignore him,” Katelina added, needing to make sure that Ann does not speak to Paris again.
Ann knew arguing with them won't help her so she got up and put her food in the mini bar fridge.
“Where are you going?” Jessica asked when Ann walked towards the door.
“Coffee,” Ann lied and left.
“We have a kettle and coffee in the room,” Katelina pointed out.
“Starbucks,” Jessica said.
“I will go with her,” Katelina said, and got up.
“No, you won't. The girl just got her heart broken, she needs some time alone,” Jessica stopped Ann from leaving.
“What about you? Do you have a boyfriend?” Katelina inquired even though she already knew about that morning’s incident.
“Single,” was all Jessica said, not ready to make Katelina a friend. “What about you?”
“Kind of single,” Katelina said, and wondered if Jessica will fish for more.
Jessica finished unpacking before grabbing clean pajamas and her vanity.
“Are you getting ready for bed already?” Katelina asked, looking at the time.
“Yep. I want to be fresh for tomorrow,” Jessica said, with a smile and walked over to the bathroom.
“There is a party tonight. Final years are welcoming us, new students,” Katelina said. She needed to get the girls to the party so that Michael can run into Ann again.

“I was wondering if I will find still find you here,” Ann said, joining Paris at the table where he was sitting.
“Ann,” Paris said, and stood up and sat again when she sat.
“Where is your so-called wife?” Ann asked.
Paris could not tell if she was angry or sad as her face was blank.
“She is nothing but an ex-girlfriend. We are not married,” Paris said, and reached out to touch Ann’s hands that were resting on the table but she retracted her hands and dropped them to her lap.
“Please, let me explain,” Paris said, pleading.
“Well, that is why I am here,” Ann said, and looked into his beautiful eyes before stubbornly looking away fearing that she will just melt in his eyes.
“She is obsessed with me. We went to school together. When we were young we got married, like pretend and she never let go of it,” Paris lied not knowing what else to say or how to really explain the situation with Soroya without tempering with Ann’s memory.
“Oh,” Ann chuckled. “Is that all there is to it?” Ann put her hands on the table again.
“Of course,” Paris said, and took her hands. “I love you and one day I am going to marry you.”
“You are not scared to wear your heart on your sleeve?” Ann smiled, meeting his eyes.
“Not when it comes to you,” Paris said, and put her fingers to his lips.
“I love you too. I was going to tell you tonight,” Ann smiled shyly
Paris just looked loveling into her eyes with her fingers still on his lips.
“Do you want to check out the campus pool with me tonight?” Ann flirted, making her intentions clear.
‘What is it with her and water,’ Paris wondered. “Absolutely.”
“Come, I will walk you to your room,” Paris said, and stood up, holding his hand out to Ann. Even though he was inside I building with no windows he had a good sense of night and day. Made Vampires, those whose hearts turned to ash when they turned could feel exactly what time it was, no matter where they were. It was still day but the sun has already disappeared over the horizon of the New York skyline and Night Walkes was able to move around in dusk and dawn light, just like in Alaska.
“I don’t want to get expelled before varsity has even started. See you at the pool tonight,” Ann said, and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing his cold, soft lips.
Ann got back to the dorm room and looked at Katelina and Jessica looking at her. "What?"
"Where is the coffee?" Jessica questioned.
"Already drank it," Ann said, her face changing slight color.
"Liar," Jessica chuckled, knowing exactly what Ann went doing.
Ann stuck her tongue at Jessica before consulting her wardrobe.
"Borrow me that red dress," Jessica pointed out.
Ann threw the dress over to Jessica and pulled out a dark blue mini dress for herself.
"Wow, you girls really mean to draw the eyes of the guys tonight," Katelina remarked after Jessica and Ann got out of the bathroom all dressed in their mini dresses.
"Just one guy's eye," Ann smiled and gave herself a look over in the mirror, smiling.
"Good. No better revenge than looking super-hot, reminding your ex what he lost," Katelina chuckled and grabbed one of Ann's dresses. "This is pretty sexy."
"Yes, you may borrow it," Ann laughed and grabbed her hairbrush to sort her hair.
"Thank you," Katelina said, and slipped into it right there in front of them. 'I will become a copy of Ann. I will learn how she behaves and copy her every move. Before long Michael won't know the difference and will choose me as his queen,' Katelina thought as she studied Ann and the way she did her hair.
“Party time,” Jessica said, and walked towards the bedroom door.
“You guys go ahead. I will meet you there,” Ann said.
“Ok,” Jessica said, knowing Ann was most likely meeting up with Paris first.
“We can wait,” Katelina said.
“But the party won't,” Jessica said, and pulled Katelina out of the room.
“Um, ok,” Katelina said, and allowed Jessica to pull her out of the room.
Ann smiled at herself in the mirror. ‘Tonight is the night,’ she told herself and left.
Ann got to the indoor pool and was left disappointed when she found it filled with students. “You got to be kidding me,” Ann said, out loud and scanned for Paris.
Paris sneaked up behind Ann. “Hello beautiful,” he whispered in her ear, his cold breath hitting her skin.
