Chapter 152
Egypt.
All six of Prince Ra’s wives arrived at Princess Freda’s room to get her ready for the wedding and when they noticed that she was not there, they all feared for their lives.
“He will blame us. He is going to kill all of us,” Nashwa cried out in panic.
“One of us needs to go tell him,” Zahra said, filled with fear.
“Send the guard because I think the messenger is going to get killed,” Sanura said, trying not to show her fear.
Zuberi heard that Princess Freda agreed to marry Prince Ra and thought that they have claimed each other, but when she entered Prince Ra’s room and saw no mark between his collarbone and neck, disappointment filled her.
“Why didn’t you let her mark you back?” Zuberi asked, adjusting his dress shirt.
“We didn’t get around to it. It wasn’t needed to claim each other after all, but we will get to that later today, after the wedding or perhaps during the wedding,” Prince Ra said, happiness radiating off him.
‘That is a relief,’ Zuberi thought, but her thoughts got interrupted when a guard stormed into the room.
“Do you want to lose your head?” Prince Ra asked furiously.
“She is gone,” the guard managed to form the words.
“Please tell me you are not talking about Princess Freda,” Zuberi asked, worried.
Prince Ra immediately tried to mind link Princess Freda but didn’t get through. “She tricked me!”
Prince Ra sped off to Princess Freda’s room and found his wives there. They all hurdle together into a corner, fearing for their lives.
Prince Ra walked over to the open window. “How did she survive?” He asked, looking out of the window, but then his eyes caught the veranda and he realized that he was mistaken to take her for a stupid woman without critical thinking skills.
Prince Ra sped off and tracked down her scent, and by that evening, he arrived in England at her mansion. After searching Princess Freda’s house, he followed her scent over to Prince Deacon’s mansion and could not find her there, either.

Prince Deacon looked through the window from Emily’s house. ‘Wonder who he is and what he wants with Princess Freda,’ he thought in silence. Earlier, when he heard movement next door, he investigated and saw that Princess Freda was home, not caring where she has been for the past month, thinking she was with Wynn. Princess Freda did not think of checking Emily’s former house where Prince Deacon has been spending the last month, mostly in her former room, finding comfort in Emily’s lingering scent.
Prince Ra got outside of the house and caught princess Freda’s scent on the hot summer night and sped off again. Prince Deacon noticed that he was going in the direction of the town where Emily and her family moved to. ‘What do they think they are going to find there?’ Prince Deacon wondered as he went back to Emily’s room to drown himself in sorrow. Prince Deacon did spend some time in Emily’s house in the other town, but after a short two weeks the town auctioned the house off as if the former occupants didn’t matter.
Princess Freda spent only a short time in the town where Emily and her family moved to before giving up her search.
‘I have no one,’ she thought to herself, crying, all alone, regretting running away. ‘What if they did look for me and could not find me?’
Prince Ra followed Princess Freda’s scent only to have lost it, only he didn’t lose it. Her scent did not continue to travel because she stopped and found shelter in the former home of Emily and her family after compelling the owners to put her up for the night. Princess Freda discovered if she drinks blood, she does not need to sleep, but that night she decided she wanted to sleep so that she could forget about her problems for a while.
Prince Ra gave up his chase and returned to Egypt, but he did not give up on finding princess Freda. ‘Perhaps she went to the council,’ he thought to himself on his way back home.
The next morning, princess Freda went back to her home in England, still oblivious to the fact that Prince Deacon was next door.
Prince Deacon decided to pay her a visit, wondering if she perhaps knew where Wynn was.
“Prince Deacon,” Princess Freda said, opening her front door.
“How are you?” he asked, walking into the house that no longer had any servants.
“Lonely. I am sorry for what happened to Emily,” Princess Freda said, unaware that prince Duncan does not know that Emily was alive and now a vampire.
“You are not to blame. Where is your father?” Prince Deacon asked.
“I don’t know. I was abducted and I have to admit I am shocked that he didn’t come to rescue me,” Princess Freda said.
“Abducted?” Prince Deacon asked.
“Yes, by my fated mate,” Princess Freda said, pulling some of the sheets of the chairs so that they can sit.
“So, you mated again after Prince Adio?” Prince Deacon asked, sitting down.
“Prince Adio? I was never his fated mate,” Princess Freda said, laughing. “I would offer you tea, but I don’t know how to turn on the stove to heat up water.”
“So, who is your fated mate?” Prince Deacon asked.
“His son, well, it turned out that he was actually not his son,” Princess Freda said, sitting down.
“Prince Ra?” Prince Deacon asked. ‘That must be who I saw snooping around,’ Prince Deacon thought.
“The one and only,” Princess Freda said, smiling sadly, looking at her hands.
“I take it you escaped him?” Prince Deacon asked.
“He took his father’s wives and killed one of them!” Princess Freda exclaimed, it truly sinking in.
“It must have been him looking for you yesterday,” Prince Deacon said casually.
“What?” Princess Freda jumped up and walked over to the window, pulling the curtain away slightly to peek around outside.
“You should have unmated if you didn’t want him chasing after you,” Prince Deacon suggested.
“Perhaps if you and my father took some time to explain all these things to me, I would have known better,” Princess Freda said, walking back to her chair.
“He must have lost your scent, so calm down,” Prince Deacon said.
“Calm down? I am all alone! I have no one!” Princess Freda burst out crying.
“I can take you to the higher council if you wish. It is time I face my parents, and my wife who might have already given birth by now,” Prince Deacon said.
“You and my father lied to me?!” Princess Freda exclaimed.
“What are you talking about?” Prince Deacon asked, forgetting all about the fact that Wynn wanted to keep her away from the council.
“You told me that you know no one else like us!” Princess Freda reminded him.
“Oh, yeah, right, I forgot,” Prince Deacon said, remembering why Wynn wanted to keep Princess Freda away from the council.
“You got married in the past month? And have a baby or a baby on the way? Does it take only one month,” Princess Freda asked one question after the other.
“Let me stop you right there and explain before you lose your mind. I was forced to get married about eight months ago and then forced again to f*ck my bride in front of my pack to consummate the marriage,” Prince Deacon told her what happened.
“That is horrible. Why did you come to pursue Emily then when you are already married?” Princess Freda asked, confused.
Prince Deacon told princess Freda his story and soon had her crying. “Don’t cry for me; to hurt is part of being alive.”
“I don’t think that saying refers to heartache,” Princess Freda said through sobs.
“If you ever are so unfortunate to lose a claimed mate then you will know that the saying is suited for the situation I find myself in,” Prince Deacon said, giving her his handkerchief so that she could dry her tears.
“Tell me about this council?” Princess Freda asked once her tears has dried up.
Prince Deacon told her about the council, how it came to be, and all about his pack and his place at the council.
“Will they accept me?” Princess Freda asked.
“Definitely, but you cannot tell them that Wynn is your father or how you came to be,” Prince Deacon said.
“But what if they drink from me and see the truth?” Princess Freda asked.
“As long as they think you are a made hybrid they will not dare to drink from you,” Prince Deacon said.
“Do you think that perhaps my father is at the council?” Princess Freda asked.
“Let's go found out, shall we?” Prince Deacon said, and stood up.
“How will we get there?” Princess Freda asked, also standing up.
“You will have to carry me and use your vampire speed. I will show you the way,” Prince Deacon said, offering his palm for her to drink.
Princess Freda focused on the way to the council and nothing else so she does not pick up that Prince Deacon thought that Emily was dead.
