Chapter 26

“Do whatever you want but when you are done with your experiment, be sure to kill it,” King Torvald said, not wanting the offspring of a prehistoric vampire mixed with a Lycan, running around, having more power than what he has.
“And the mother?” the scientist asked.
King Torvald picked up a Lycan scent but then thought nothing more of it as he knew that the wolves outnumber every other species right now and obviously their scent was strong right now.
“We are outnumbered by wolves, so killing one more won’t matter. Now show me the pregnant woman,” King Torvald said.
King Torvald entered the lab and saw the heavily pregnant woman tied down on a table. “it looks like she is about to pop.”
“Should I wake her up?” the scientist asked.
“Yes,” King Torvald said, looking at the woman, brunette, pretty.
“She should wake up in an hour or so,” the scientist said.
“Leave us, you can return in the morning,” King Torvald ordered.
“Good night then,” the scientist said before leaving and closing the door behind him.
King Torvald locked the door and sat next to a woman on the table. The blood from her wrist and ankles where she was tied enticed his senses. ‘I have not had a Lycan in ages,’ he thought, wanting to sink his fangs into her skin.
‘It is not like she will be able to live to tell the tale,’ King Torvald thought before sinking his teeth into the woman that has not woken up yet.
The pregnant woman’s life flashes in his mind while he drank from her and he was shocked to learn of the plans she had for the council, ‘good thing we caught her before her plan could materialize,’ he thought as he continues to drink, overindulging.
“Stop, please, stop,” the woman barely got out.
King Torvald stopped drinking, “I see you had a great plan for my council, but I don’t see that you are connected to the prehistoric that beat you to it.”
The woman looked over at him, her eyes half open, “please, my baby.”
“Shhh, don’t you worry, it will be over soon,” King Torvald said.
The woman looked up, bright lights shining down on her, making her eyes squint, “where am I?”
“You are at the supernatural higher council,” King Torvald said with a smooth voice.
The woman struggled against her restraints.
“Stop struggling, it is no use,” King Torvald compelled her while sealing up his bite marks on her skin so that the scientist won’t know that he drank from her.
ONE WEEK AGO
Instead of leaving to meet Ann at the council, Michael continued his search for his kind and came across a prehistoric vampire, but she was not natural born. Together they discovered and set free a village of prehistoric that was frozen together. Like Michael, she had plans to take revenge on the so-called higher council that has been killing their kind.
When they were almost done setting the prehistoric free Michael left to find more humans for them to feed on but took a quick side tour to the council and that was when he created the bloody mess that the council was currently facing. After his dirty deed, he re-joined his new-made friend to finish setting free the last of the prehistoric, but she was already done. While feeding the just set-free prehistoric and educating them, an unfamiliar scent caught his nose. “Do you smell that?”
“Jason?” Lena, his blond, blue-eyed prehistoric vampire friend, said when her eye caught the scent that he just picked up.
“Who is he?” Michael asked.
“A friend,” Lena said, giving Michael a warning eye.
“What is that look for?” Michael asked, offended.
“I know you natural-born vampires like the taste of wolves,” Lena said before speeding off to meet Jason.
From where Michael was standing, he could hear their conversation.
“How did you find me?” Lena asked.
“Hello to you too,” Jason greeted her.
“We are just about done here,” Lena said.
“Good. Bianca has been abducted, and we believe the higher council has something to do with it as we tracked her scent there,” Jason said, urgency in his voice.
“That is not good. I knew we should have killed Samuel,” Lena says.
“Half of my pack's adults are already at the council, hiding out nearby and we have confirmation that Bianca is still alive,” Jason says.
Michael approached them, “hi, I am Michael.”
“Jason,” the young adult looking no older than twenty with brown hair and golden-brown eyes introduce himself, looking over at Lena.
“He is a natural-born vampire like Vincent,” Lena said, referring to her brother that was killed by a hunter and the reason for her revenge.
“How many have you saved?” Jason asked, looking at the group feeding on a few humans.
“Enough to save your friend and take down the council,” Michael said.
“I didn’t save him. We met out here with the same goal,” Lena informed Jason.
“The rest is at a compound, ready to take on the council,” Michael said.
“I will go fetch the ones we send to lead the Hunters away from here. Meet you at the compound,” Lena said, speeding off.
Michael, Jason, and the few prehistoric with them set off to the compound and shortly after they arrived, Lena did too.
Even though vampires are comfortable enough under the midnight sun, they cannot cope during the day in any other part of the globe, so they were delayed for a few hours, to be sure of the time zones.
“Lena, I will leave with your friend Michael, as I fear we cannot wait, as Bianca and the baby are in great danger. I will meet you at the council,” Jason said, making Michael wonder why anyone would put a pregnant woman in danger.
“Michael, will you come with me? I know the powers you possess and that you can compel anything,” Jason asked.
“Sure, I was there not so long ago, so I know my way around the castle,” Michael said.
“But you are prehistoric; how can you be part of the council? I thought you are putting an army together to end the council,” Jason asked, confused.
“I did not say I was a part of the council. I am sure by now your pack has shown you what is going on at the higher council,” Michael said.
“You did that?” Jason asked.
“Yup,” Michael chuckled.
“Did what?” Lena asked.
“I compelled them to kill each other and the hunters, since they cannot be compelled, and by the sound of it, it worked,” Michael said with a grin on his face.
“So, after all this effort, the job is already done?” Lena asked, sounding disappointed.
“Not by a long shot. There are still hunters out, as you can tell by the hunting party that almost came across us and we need to destroy the embryo lab you showed me on your blueprints,” Michael said.
“We might never be rid of them as Ash, my pack beta, showed me that there are a group of children that are hunters and we cannot possibly kill them and someone called, King Torvald, stated that they will just appoint the next generation of royals,” Jason lets them know what he heard trough Ash’s mind.
“Then we need to be part of the next generation. We need to be sure that the hunters that survive know that we can be domesticated, as the humans like to say,” Lena said.
“How are we supposed to do that when Michael over here clearly proved the great threat Prehistoric Vampires are,” Jason questioned, frustrated.
“I am sorry,” Michael apologized, not meaning it.
“You think it is a joke?” Jason asked, seriously.
“How would you have felt if they killed your kind without a second thought?” Lena asked, siding with Michael.
“Just make your way over to the council with your army and keep them under control,” Jason demanded.
“Need I remind you I am not one of your pack members for you to demand?” Lena reminded him.
“Please,” Jason tried again.
“See you guys there,” Lena said with a sarcastic smile.
Jason and Michael arrived early morning, Michael carrying Jason as he could not use his vampire speed with the sun out already.
“There is no way in, the whole place is spelled,” Michael said.
“We know a secret entrance,” Jason said.
“Ok then, let us go save your mate,” Michael said, following Jason.
It wasn’t too difficult finding the secret entrance that Ash has shown Jason and soon enough they found themselves in King Thorvald’s bedroom.
“How did you find my secret entrance?” a voice comes out of the darkness.
“Brother?” Michael stated.
“Ah, Michael, welcome,” King Torvald greeted.
“I take it you are King Torvald?” Jason recognized the voice he heard through Ash’s ears.
“That is correct, and you are?” King Torvald asked, stepping out of the dark corner.
“I am an Alpha coming to collect a pack member that you had abducted,” Jason said.
“Sorry, but you are too late. She should be dead by now,” King Torvalds said coldly.
Jason shifts into his werewolf form out of anger and tried to attack King Torvald, but he was too fast and sped off.
Michael sped after him and pinned him just outside his bedroom. “Why are you still alive when our kind is being killed by these so-called hunters that this place breeds?”
King Torvald fought back and slammed Michael to the ground, “because I created them.”
Jason walked out of the room, growling, ready to bite King Torvavld’s head off.
“You always wanted to be king. So instead of releasing your kind from the ice, you are having them killed so that you can be king? You are hilarious, almost as hilarious as the real king I set free from the ice. Women have always ruled us, but I see this modern world has changed you. What is this I hear about you miss treating a woman? One that is carrying a child. You know the penalty is death for ill-treating a woman!” Michael spat after gaining the upper hand again.
“This is not our world, and it has not been for a long time,” King Torvald fought back.
“I should let the wolf finish you off,” Michael threatened as he managed to put his brother, King Torvald, in an arm hold he cannot escape.
“You know your little pet is no match for me,” King Torvald laughed.
“Are you sure about that?” Michael threatened again, not sure himself.
“Hey, wolf, go run yourself to death,” King Torvald compelled Jason, but it does not work. Jason just kept on growling.
‘Crap,’ King Torvald thought when he saw the shaman necklace around the wolf’s neck.
Michael was still holding King Torvald in a stronghold when his brother passed out. Michael looked up just as a man that looks way too young to be a shaman was about to put him to sleep, but then abruptly, the young shaman stopped.
“You must be what they call a shaman,” Michael said, knowing that he must be part of Jason’s pack and they must be conversing through mind links. Michael dragged King Torvald into his room.
“That is correct,” Shaman Kian said before walking off.
‘He looked like the red Indian tribes from Ann’s history books.’ Michael thought about what he learned from Ann’s mind when he drank from her.
“Jason, please don’t kill my brother,” Michael pleaded, blocking Jason’s path.
“He killed Bianca and is the cause for the rest of your kind’s deaths,” Jason said, after shifting back into his human form, standing naked in front of them.
“It is not for you to decide alone what will happen to him,” Michael stood his ground, towering over Jason.
“Let me at least get some clothes,” Jason tried to trick Michael, but in a blink of an eye, Michael was standing with some of King Torvald's clothes in his hands.
“Not exactly my style,” Jason said, grabbing the clothes and putting them on.
“Now let’s go find your pack members,” Michael encouraged Jason away from the door.
