Chapter 134
Calliope pushed his hand away. "Forget it. Who knows what kind of gossip will spread again. It's fine here; the house is spacious, and I don't have to worry about food and clothing."
David wanted to say something, but Calliope interrupted him, "Alright, since you're here, why don't you take my seat?"
Picking up the scattered fruits and vegetables, Calliope looked at the diamond ring on her finger, and memories kept flooding her mind. No matter how poor she was in the past, she never sold this ring. It was a beautiful memory that belonged to her and Sylvester.
David noticed Calliope lost in thought and asked, "You still can't let go of it? Still thinking about him?"
Calliope smiled. "It's good to keep a memento."
"It's not your fault; the success rate of the surgery was too low. You can't be blamed," David gently comforted her.
Calliope shook her head. No matter what, his illness was because of her.
Her gaze inadvertently fell on a nearby car, and the person inside looked very much like Sylvester! Her body instantly froze.
The car sped away, and Calliope rushed towards it without hesitation!
David hurriedly grabbed her. "What are you doing? Don't you think about the baby? You're seven months pregnant!"
Calliope struggled to break free from his hand, pointing to the car that had just passed. "The person in the car is Sylvester."
David frowned, he didn't believe Sylvester was still alive. "You must be mistaken. Sylvester has been dead for a long time. I had a heart transplant surgery using his heart."
Calliope thought he made sense, but she was sure she hadn't seen wrong. Could it really be her hallucination? She rubbed her temples, looking confused.
Inside the car, Sylvester's lips curled into a sneer, thinking, 'I'm back, Calliope. I want you to know the feeling of betrayal!'
The sports car slowly drove into the parking lot of the Moore Manor, and Sylvester got out.
As soon as he returned to the living room, the butler came up to him. "Mr. Moore, you haven't fully recovered yet. How can you drive so fast? What if you get hurt again?"
Sylvester frowned. "Why are you getting more and more nagging?" He said as he walked towards the elevator.
The butler shook his head as he watched his back. "Mr. Moore may be cold, but he doesn't have a bad heart. Iit's just that the women he meets are more and more annoying."
Sylvester returned to the bedroom and smelled a familiar perfume, it must be Nina's.
For the past six months, Nina had been by his side taking care of him. But for some reason, Sylvester no longer felt anything for her.
Nina gently helped Sylvester take off his coat and softly asked, "What do you want to eat tonight? I'll have the kitchen prepare it."
Sylvester sat on the sofa and said indifferently, "Anything."
Nina sat down next to him. "You just recovered; you need to eat something light."
Sylvester looked down at his phone. "Okay."
Everyone thought they had a special relationship, but in reality, they didn't. Every time Nina tried to seduce him, he would sternly scold her to leave. Even mentioning Calliope's name would make him furious.
Nina couldn't help but probe, "Do you still like Calliope?"
Sylvester angrily threw a pillow at her. "Never mention that woman again!"
Although the Moore family thought she would become Sylvester's wife, she knew she had to keep trying. It was clear that Sylvester still had Calliope in his heart.
At dinner, the chefs quickly brought out the dishes, and Jenny showed a disdainful expression when she saw Nina. She always thought Sylvester should get back together with Calliope.
Nina coldly instructed Jenny, "Put it down; you can leave now."
Jenny left silently, but she had a nagging feeling: Calliope might come back.
At the dining table, Nina carefully served Sylvester some food. "There's a new movie premiere tonight. I hope you can come."
