Chapter 136

At the new film release event, it was clear that Nina was in her element. The entire venue, from the entrance to the stage, was meticulously decorated, all designed to outshine Sylvester.

When Sylvester appeared, all the media and flashlights instantly focused on him.

"Isn't that Sylvester?"

"Yeah, isn't that Sylvester?"

"Sylvester? Didn't he die six months ago?"

The venue erupted in chaos, with reporters and guests all talking, their faces full of surprise.

Nina wasn't angry at all; this was exactly the effect she wanted. She wanted Calliope to see this and feel heartbroken again.

"Mr. Moore, we heard you went abroad for treatment these past six months, is that true?"

"Mr. Moore, there were rumors that you had passed away. What's going on?"

Hearing the sharp question, Nina quickly stepped forward, smiling as she took Sylvester's arm. "Sorry, everyone, we have something to attend to."

Once in the car, Sylvester coldly shook off Nina's arm. "You've achieved your goal."

Nina's smile stiffened, but she forced a smile. "What are you talking about?" She withdrew her hand and sat back in her seat, her smile becoming more strained.

"Drive!" Sylvester didn't answer. Although he was unhappy, he had to endure it.

Despite Sylvester's bad attitude, at least Nina's goal was achieved. What could Calliope do now? Even if Sylvester was back, it had nothing to do with her anymore.

The next evening, Calliope had just finished dinner when she heard the doorbell. She went to open the door, her pregnant belly leading the way.

"Butler, why are you here?" Calliope looked at the Moore family butler carrying large bags, and she had a rough idea.

"Ms. Gray, these are for your nourishment." The butler smiled politely. "Ms. Gray, may I come in and sit for a while?"

"Of course, please come in." Calliope stepped aside to let the butler in. She knew that since the butler was here, he must have something to say.

The butler looked around the tidy living room, thinking how someone so meticulous could be so heartless. "I've put the things on the table. Could you please get me a cup of coffee?"

Calliope handed him a cup of coffee and sat down, waiting for the butler to speak.

The butler looked around and said directly, "Jenny will come to take care of you for a while until you give birth."

"Actually, I'm fine on my own. I don't need Jenny to take care of me." Calliope instinctively refused; she didn't want to have any more ties with the Moore family.

The butler's face immediately tightened. "Since we're being direct, I'll be straightforward. The Moore family wants you to give birth to the child and then hand it over to them, and never appear again."

"Never appear again?" Calliope asked.

"Yes, pretend the child has nothing to do with you," the butler explained firmly.

Calliope sneered. To the Moore family, she was just a tool for childbirth. Was this karma? It came so quickly.

After hearing this, Calliope was stunned and silent for a moment. "Okay."

After saying this, the butler got up and left. She was left alone in deep thought.

Give her own child to the Moore family? Absolutely not. Even animals protect their young, and she certainly wasn't the type to stoop to such measures.

She couldn't bear the thought of her child being born without parents. Giving the child to the Moore family was out of the question. Calliope angrily slammed the sofa remote down.

"This afternoon, at the new film release event of the famous model Nina, we saw a surprising and familiar face, Sylvester."

Perhaps it was a coincidence, or maybe it was fate, but Calliope accidentally turned on the TV and saw the face she hadn't seen in six months.

Sylvester? Impossible! He clearly died six months ago!

Calliope trembled as she changed the channel, but another channel was still reporting on Sylvester. Her face turned pale, and her heart raced. Sylvester coming back to life? Impossible, he was clearly dead!

Sylvester was dead; he couldn't appear again!

Seeing the news, Calliope was stunned, her face full of shock. Was Sylvester back for revenge?

She looked at Sylvester with a gaze full of strangeness and coldness, as if her eyes could kill. The arrogant Sylvester from before was gone. No, this person couldn't be Sylvester, just someone who looked similar. The reporters must have made a mistake.

She had done so many things to hurt him, even personally causing his death. For the past six months, she had been living in guilt and pain, thinking Sylvester was really dead. But now, Sylvester appeared on TV unharmed.

No, she had to figure this out! Thinking of this, Calliope stood up in a daze, grabbed her keys, and headed out the door.

"Calliope." David, after recovering, came to check on Calliope every day to feel at ease. Today, as soon as he arrived downstairs, he saw Calliope about to leave and shouted to stop her, but Calliope didn't respond and kept walking.

David jogged a few steps and grabbed her hand. "Calliope, where are you going?"

"I need to go to the Moore manor." Calliope looked back at David, her face pale.

"Calliope, what happened? Why are you going to the Moore manor? Did they do something to you again?" David asked.

"I need to go to the Moore manor!" Calliope just repeated this sentence.

David had no choice but to take her to the Moore manor.

On the way, David saw that Calliope had calmed down a bit and asked, "Is it because you saw Sylvester is back that you're in such a hurry to go to the Moore manor?" David had also seen the news and felt extremely uncomfortable.

He knew that since Sylvester was back, he would definitely seek revenge. After all, it was their ruthlessness that made Sylvester fake his death. But now that Sylvester was alive, what about his heart?

Arrived at the Moore manor, David stpped and helped Calliope out. Just as they were about to go in, they heard the sound of brakes behind them. Turning around, they saw a group of handsome men and beautiful women getting out of the car, with a radiant Sylvester accompanied by a stunning woman.

Calliope was furious. She had spent the past six months in regret and guilt, thinking Sylvester was dead. But now, he was standing in front of her alive, which was a huge humiliation.

"Is it really you? You're not dead?" Calliope asked.
