Chapter 63

"Mr. President, there's a document here that needs your review and signature." Maggie walked over with her usual light steps, handing the document to Sylvester, her curvy figure catching the eye.

Sylvester finally got up, took the pen Maggie offered, and scribbled a stylish "Sylvester" on the document.

"Thank you, Mr. Moore. I won't bother you any longer." Maggie was about to leave with the document. Before she did, she shot a meaningful glance at Calliope, like she was hinting something. Then, she snapped her fingers, her voice soft but oddly commanding. "Oh, by the way, Mr. Moore, the company's closing soon. I've told security to wait until your office lights are off before locking up."

Sylvester responded with a nod, but Calliope snapped back to reality with that finger snap, like her mind had just returned from a fog.

The door closed quietly, and Calliope looked around, confused, at Sylvester and herself. "What just happened? What's going on with me?"

She had no clue what had just happened; her mind was a mess, and everything felt surreal. It wasn't until that snap that she fully woke up.

Calliope shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts, confirming she was in the real world.

"No matter what, you can't fire him. He needs this job!" Since this was reality, she decided to tackle the immediate problem first and deal with the weird stuff later.

Sylvester smirked. "Give me a reason."

"A reason? Do you need a reason? He didn't do anything wrong. What right do you have to fire him?" Calliope felt a wave of helplessness, adding to her dizziness, just wanting to end this topic quickly.

At that moment, Calliope's phone rang with its usual elegant melody. Just as she was about to answer, Sylvester's phone rang too. They exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with a strange mutual understanding.

Sylvester picked up his phone from the desk, glanced at the caller ID, and answered impatiently, "What is it?"

"What is it?" They almost spoke in unison, exchanging another glance, their eyes carrying a hint of "Are you copying me?"

How could such a connection exist between two people who had no prior relationship?

Outside the office, Maggie looked back at the president's office, with a sinister smile, she dialed a number. "Just as you predicted, the time was one hour and forty-five minutes, not exceeding two hours."

At the Moore Family manor, everyone gathered in the living room, including Jack's family.

John shouted into the phone at Sylvester, "Get back here immediately! I need to talk to you!"

Jack grabbed his phone and yelled at Calliope, "Calliope! Get back here! I'm waiting for you at the Moore family manor! How dare you think about getting a divorce?" This matter was giving him a headache; he thought he could gain some benefits from the Moore family through Calliope, but now she was proposing a divorce!

About half an hour later, the butler announced, "Sir, Calliope and Sylvester have returned."

Sylvester, dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, exuded a roguish arrogance, hands in his pockets as he walked into the living room. Calliope, draped in his suit jacket, followed behind with an embarrassed expression.

Seeing this scene, Sylvester's lips curled into a devilish smile. "Why is everyone gathered here? Are you here to watch a show?"

Sitting on the central sofa, Michael, leaning on a cane, struck the floor heavily, his deep voice carrying undeniable authority. "Sylvester! This is nonsense! Why are you talking about divorce again? I think Calliope is quite obedient!"

Sylvester sat down casually, leaning back on the sofa with a smile. "If she is so obedient, would she cheat on me?"

"What?" John looked at Calliope in disbelief, as if seeking confirmation.

Almost all the Moore family members, along with Jack's family, focused their gaze on Calliope. Being seen as a cheater, she felt heartbroken.

"Calliope! Did you cheat?" Jack suddenly stood up, walked up to her, and angrily questioned.
