Chapter 154

Looking at Peter's rogue appearance, Calliope said angrily, "I have no money."

Hearing Calliope's words, Mia looked up and started cursing, "Calliope, you bitch! Why didn't you bring money when you came? You know they only want money. Are you trying to get me killed?"

"The one trying to get you killed is yourself. I've told you long ago not to mix with people like him; it won't end well!" Calliope glared at Mia fiercely. Even now, she still hadn't learned her lesson and was still so arrogant.

"You just want to harm me. After failing to harm Sylvester, now you want to harm me. What grudge do you have against the Moore family?" Mia's voice was heart-wrenching, even more so than her earlier crying, making people feel even more sympathetic.

Seeing Mia being held down and still struggling to curse her so fiercely, Calliope really wanted to just walk away.

But while they had time to chat, Peter didn't want to wait, to avoid any unexpected situations.

"I asked you to come to bring money, not to discuss the Moore family's issues. If you don't have money, just wait and see." After saying this, Peter snapped his fingers, and Calliope saw the photos on the TV screen, followed by videos that made even someone experienced in sex blush.

Seeing Calliope's embarrassment, Peter said, "If you don't give me money today, these will be the headlines tomorrow. By then, it will be too late to give me money."

"I'll tell you this, my bodyguards are downstairs. If you don't release her, I'll have them come up. By then, not only will these photos and videos disappear, but you might also all be dead." Calliope threatened. Did these people really think she was stupid? What a joke.

Peter sneered, "Do you think I'm an amateur at blackmail? Since I can show you these things, I must have backups. Having backups is the most basic method in this kind of blackmail!"

Calliope was speechless. If there were backups, even calling the police wouldn't help; they couldn't control the release of the photos.

Seeing Peter's confidence, Mia was terrified and forgot about humiliating Calliope earlier. She started begging, "Please, Calliope, I'm begging you, give them the money. Otherwise, my life will be ruined."

But Calliope really had no money. She wasn't lying. She had been in the Moore family for so long, and Sylvester hadn't given her a penny. Otherwise, she wouldn't have become a prostitute. When she got pregnant and came back, he still didn't give her money, fearing she would escape with the child.

Seeing Calliope's troubled expression, Peter knew she wasn't completely out of options and pressed on, "Do you have money or not? If not, I'll have my friend post the photos online!"

Seeing Mia's tear-streaked face and hopeful eyes, combined with Peter's aggressive stance, Calliope hesitated. Looking at the diamond ring on her hand, worth at least three to five million dollars, she thought, "Fine, I'll use it for an emergency. I can't just watch her die. Like Mia said, I've already wronged the Moore family a lot by trying to harm Sylvester. If I let Mia die now, that would be truly unforgivable."

Calliope had suffered from regret before and didn't want her conscience to be tormented again.

"This diamond ring was made by a famous designer over six months and is worth three to five million dollars. Consider it your lucky day." Calliope took off the ring and placed it in her hand.

Peter's eyes lit up immediately. He took the ring and examined it for a long time.

"Release her!" Calliope said coldly.

"Release her, release her!" Peter, happy with the money, released Mia. To him, Mia was worthless compared to the money.

Calliope had her bodyguards come up and took Mia to the car. She searched the room for a long time but couldn't find the backups they mentioned, so she went downstairs.

In the car, Mia kept crying, her shoulders shaking, making people feel sorry for her. As soon as Calliope got in, Mia hugged her. She was still young, and it was normal to have a shadow after experiencing such things.

Hugging Calliope, Mia cried and said, "I really don't want to live anymore. Peter drugged my drink, took me to a hotel, took photos, and had several people gang-rape me. I really don't have the courage to live. If Dad and Grandpa find out, they'll kill me."

Mia kept crying, and Calliope, sitting there, had the driver start the car, listening to Mia's complaints. She thought, "Didn't Mia bring this on herself?"

But Mia was still young, and Calliope didn't want to say anything. People need to learn from their mistakes to grow, just like she did.

Seeing Calliope not saying a word, Mia, worried she would tell others, suddenly stopped crying and pushed Calliope away with hostility, saying, "I warn you, don't tell anyone about this. If anyone finds out, I'll kill myself, and it will be your fault!"

Calliope was speechless. Seeing Mia's pitiful crying turn into arrogance, threatening to blame her for suicide, she thought, "Is this a TV drama? How can young girls be so naive! It's a wonder how John, being so smart, could have such a foolish daughter."

"Did you hear me? I'm talking to you!" Mia, seeing no reaction from Calliope, pushed her twice.

Though the light was dim, Calliope saw the marks on Mia's wrists from being tied up. There were several marks. Peter and his men were too cruel, doing this just for money!

Seeing Mia's pitiful appearance, Calliope nodded, "I swear, I won't tell anyone, but I have a condition." Taking the opportunity to make a demand was her style.

"What condition?" Mia frowned and glared at Calliope.

"From now on, don't associate with such shady people. Otherwise, next time, you might be in mortal danger, and no one will save you! You should have limits to your recklessness!" Calliope said sternly, like an elder.

Though Mia was unwilling, she nodded in agreement, feeling inferior at the moment.

Seeing she was still teachable, Calliope nodded in satisfaction.

Back at the Moore manor, Jenny had been making calming soup all day, but Mia locked herself in her room, crying and refusing to drink it.

Calliope stood at the door, knocking for a long time without response. Seeing the soup in Jenny's hand getting cold, she said, "Forget it, if she doesn't want to drink, let her be. Maybe she'll feel better tomorrow."

After saying this, Calliope went downstairs. She was exhausted after a long day.

A few days later, early in the morning, Calliope was still in bed when she heard the sound of things being thrown upstairs, followed by crying. Frowning, she thought, "Mia is too much. She's been crying for days." She was extremely frustrated and had no solution.

Jenny, hearing the noise from Calliope's room, came in, looking troubled, "Miss Moore has been like this, not eating or drinking for days. If this continues, her body won't be able to take it."

"She's not eating or drinking because she's not hungry or thirsty. When she is, she'll ask for food and drink." Calliope, acting indifferent, went about her morning routine, as if she didn't care at all.

But hearing the crying, Calliope worried if her unborn child would also cry constantly, causing her distress.

"Butler, get someone to kick Miss Moore's door open!" Calliope couldn't take it anymore.

"What, kick it open?" Butler questioned.

"Do you have a better idea?" Calliope retorted.

Butler had no response and followed Calliope's suggestion. He didn't want to hear crying in the villa every day either, so he got some people to go upstairs.

In a few moments, they kicked the door open. Mia, seeing people enter, immediately stopped crying.
