Chapter 79

Last night's feast left Robert in a deep hangover. As he stumbled out of the elevator in a daze, he accidentally ran into Calliope and Rose having a conversation, his eyes still heavy with the morning's drowsiness.

Ripples stirred in Robert's heart as he muttered to himself, "Isn't that Calliope? What's she doing here with that kind of woman?" The woman in his eyes was dressed provocatively, her attire casual.

Despite his curiosity, Robert didn't want to speculate without reason. After all, what did it have to do with him? He shook his head, stepped out of the hotel, and let the doubts scatter with the wind.

In the top-floor office of the Winner Group, the president's office was silent.

Sylvester lounged lazily in his luxurious chair, his long legs crossed and elegantly resting on the desk, his fingers sliding over his phone, seemingly immersed in the world of X. Who would have thought that the head of the Winner Group would indulge in browsing X during work breaks, even smiling at a post, a smile that carried an infinite charm.

The screen displayed Calliope's X profile, her ID surprisingly cute—[I'm the beloved little bunny.] Seeing this name, he smiled gently.

X was filled with daily scenery photos and a few sticker selfies. He never imagined that his wife was so lively and playful in private. Why was she always so reserved and introverted in front of him?

"Mr. Moore, Miss Rodriguez is here. Do you want to see her?" The intercom broke the silence.

Sylvester didn't lift his eyelids, responding indifferently, "No." His fingers continued to scroll through Calliope's posts, no one knowing what he was looking for.

Suddenly, an idea struck him, and a mischievous smile appeared on his lips. He found a selfie of Calliope making a peace sign, pressed the share button, and commented: [This is my wife.]

In an instant, his phone started ringing incessantly. This action was undoubtedly shocking news to the outside world, but he paid no attention, directly closing the screen and resting his eyes.

At that moment, the office door was suddenly pushed open, accompanied by the secretary's desperate attempts to stop it. "Miss Rodriguez, please don't go in. Mr. Moore is not available to see guests right now."

Sylvester opened his eyes, facing Nina's unexpected appearance with no trace of emotion, as if the person before him was just a stranger.

"Mr. Moore, I'm sorry, I couldn't stop her." The secretary looked apologetic, casting a reproachful glance at Nina.

Sylvester uncrossed his legs and said calmly, "Forget it, you can leave. This has nothing to do with you."

"Yes." The secretary obeyed, gently closing the door.

Nina stared at Sylvester sitting behind the desk. After a long-awaited reunion, he looked well, and finding him at the company was no easy task.

"What do you want?" Sylvester casually flipped open a financial magazine, his tone indifferent.

Nina's mood grew heavier. Could he really let go of her so easily? She had heard he returned to the company, was it really because of Calliope?

After composing herself, she slowly walked to the desk, looking directly into his captivating eyes. "I've been looking for you for so long. If I hadn't forced my way in today, I might never have seen you again in this lifetime."

Sylvester finally lifted his gaze to Nina. Perhaps due to the long hours of filming, her eyes showed signs of fatigue, and no amount of makeup could hide it.

"Now that you've seen me, say what you need to. It's work time." His voice was cold, as if an invisible wall had been erected between them, impossible to cross.

Nina held back the words she wanted to say, placing her hands on the desk, and asked directly, "Why don't you want to see me? Do you not want to see me anymore?"

Sylvester leaned back in his chair, and sneered. "What do you think? I'm married now."

"So what? You don't love her at all! Was all the investment and affection you showed me just an illusion? Can a man's heart change so quickly?" Nina couldn't accept it. How could such a deep and unforgettable love be severed so easily and quickly transferred to another person? It was too unbelievable.

She didn't know that love was inherently full of the unexpected, unreasonable, and didn't distinguish between first and last.

Sylvester slowly stood up, and Nina's gaze shifted from looking down to looking up. Their height difference was considered the ideal match for a couple.

"Don't bring up the past. I don't have time to reminisce with you." His tone was resolute as he walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the bustling streets below.

Nina's heart tightened, and she followed him to the window, staring at his profile. "Sylvester, is there really no place for me in your heart anymore? I don't believe you can give your heart to Calliope so quickly! I don't believe it!"

He sneered, turning to scrutinize Nina, his words dripping with sarcasm. "No wonder you're an actress, your acting skills have improved. It seems my past investment was worth it. Now that you're making good money, remember to pay back the $15 million you owe me, within three years!"

Nina's eyes widened in disbelief. Sylvester, who used to spend money on her like water, was now asking for it back?

"Sylvester, how can you treat me like this? You were never like this before! You wouldn't touch a woman you didn't like, not even for show! But you not only accepted Calliope, you even got her pregnant! And now you're treating me like this! How could you become like this?"

Before Nina could finish, Sylvester's face darkened, a hint of shock flashing in his eyes as he stared at her intently. "What did you say? Pregnant?" Those words hit him like a hammer. Calliope was pregnant?
