Chapter 165
"Sorry, Robert, Robert, don't be mad. How about this: from now on, all your drinks here will be on the house. How does that sound?" The manager was so scared by Robert's words that he kept apologizing.
"That's more like it!" Robert snorted.
Even if they caused some trouble, it could save Winner Group a lot of money.
Stormy Brews Bar is a well-known chain bar, and with the SK International Hotel upstairs, it offers the most comprehensive range of services in the city, including spa, beauty treatments, dining, and various entertainment facilities. Winner Group spends a considerable amount of money here every month entertaining guests and discussing business. If everything could be free, the savings would be substantial.
"Thanks to you," Sylvester snorted, then said to Calliope and Mia, "Let's go, come home with me!"
Sylvester originally came today to discuss advertising spokespersons with the advertising company, which had brought several popular models. But now, seeing the troublemakers, Sylvester decided to personally take them home.
In the opposite private room, Sylvester went in to apologize and reschedule the meeting. Calliope even saw a few young models inside, including Nina.
At that moment, Nina also saw the pregnant Calliope and swayed her hips as she followed Sylvester out.
"Isn't this Mrs. Moore? What, you're pregnant and still coming to a bar? So trendy?" Nina sneered at Calliope.
Calliope snorted, looked Nina up and down, and said disdainfully, "Aren't you always out entertaining clients? Why is it surprising for a pregnant woman to be here?"
"You!" Nina's face turned pale with anger, and her lips trembled.
Calliope's words made Nina seem like a prostitute, infuriating her. She could only cling to Sylvester's hand and whine, "Mr. Moore, look, she said that about me. I'm your woman."
"When were you ever my woman? When you dumped me?" Sylvester brushed off Nina's hand and walked towards the door.
Seeing Sylvester's attitude, Calliope finally felt vindicated. She glared at Nina and followed him out.
As they left, Calliope noticed her two bodyguards were missing and questioned Sylvester, "Where are my bodyguards?"
"What do you mean your bodyguards? Weren't they assigned to you by the Moore family?" Sylvester retorted.
"No matter who assigned them, where are they now?" Calliope asked again, wanting to go home by herself and not share a car with Sylvester.
"Those two have been dismissed. They no longer have the right to stay with the Moore family," Sylvester said coldly as he opened the car door. They had dared to defy him, which was unacceptable.
"Sylvester, they followed me here because I forced them. How could you just dismiss them? Is there no justice?" Calliope was anxious. Those two bodyguards had been with her for a while and knew her family situation. Although the Moore family provided good benefits, they had offended many people while working for Sylvester. Without the Moore family's protection, their lives could be in danger.
"Get in the car!" Sylvester ignored her question and ordered coldly.
"I'm not getting in your car. I'll go back myself," Calliope frowned, refusing to get in and walking in the opposite direction.
Sylvester was furious. He got out of the car, quickly walked over, grabbed Calliope, and lifted her into the car. Despite being pregnant, Calliope was thin, and Sylvester had no trouble carrying her.
"Ah!" Calliope felt a sharp pain in her stomach as Sylvester threw her into the car and cried out.
But Sylvester didn't care and stepped on the gas.
On the way, Mia, seeing Sylvester's grim face, didn't dare to speak. After rehearsing countless times in her mind, she finally spoke pitifully as they neared the Moore manor, "Sylvester, can you not tell Dad about tonight? If you do, I'll be in big trouble. Please?"
Mia's pitiful look and trembling voice made Sylvester frown, but he didn't respond, which was a tacit agreement.
The rest of the way was silent. Calliope sat with her seatbelt tightly fastened, sulking, while Mia was anxious, unsure of Sylvester's attitude.
At the Moore manor.
At the villa entrance, Calliope was immediately greeted by Jenny and Ava, who seemed to know what she had been up to.
"Jenny, make a calming herbal drink for Mrs. Moore," Sylvester instructed after parking the car, then coldly said to Mia, "Come with me."
Jenny supported Calliope, relieved to see she was okay, but still nagged, "Mrs. Moore, where did you go? We were so worried. Ava and I have been on edge for hours."
"Yes, Mrs. Moore, Mr. John Moore asked several times where you went," Ava added.
"It's fine," Calliope smiled and went upstairs.
In the room, while helping Calliope change into her nightgown, Jenny noticed blood on her clothes.
"Oh my God, Mrs. Moore, what happened? Why is there blood on your clothes?" Jenny was shocked and quickly grabbed Calliope, worried about the baby.
Calliope took a deep breath and smiled, "I'm fine. It's not my blood. It's someone else's."
"What? Someone else's blood? Mrs. Moore, what happened tonight?" Ava was astonished. How did she get someone else's blood on her? Their world was truly incomprehensible.
Calliope didn't want to answer, but if she didn't, they would worry and speculate all night. So she made up a lie, "Miss Moore was harassed, so I helped her stab someone."
"Stab someone!"
"Mrs. Moore, you stabbed someone?"
Jenny and Ava exclaimed in shock, and Calliope quickly covered their mouths, "Keep it down! Don't let anyone else hear!"
Realizing the situation, Jenny and Ava quieted down, but Jenny persisted, "How could you stab someone, Mrs. Moore? You're pregnant and still getting into fights?"
