Chapter 174

Nina began to speak to Lucas in a gentle manner.

"No, the hospital has regulations. We can't just prescribe medication casually." Lucas remembered what the person said last night and directly refused Nina's request.

Being rejected by Lucas, Nina immediately pouted and looked at Lucas with a very aggrieved expression, "Are you saying that just because I broke up with Sylvester, you don't want to be friends with me anymore? It's such a small thing, and you don't even want to help me?"

"It's not that I don't want to help you, it's that I really can't violate the hospital's regulations!" Lucas retorted, making his stance clear. In short, he wouldn't prescribe medication for Nina.

"If you won't give it to me, I'll find another doctor!" Nina said angrily, grabbing her bag and turning to leave.

Watching Nina, Lucas shook his head helplessly. He didn't expect Nina to be so ruthless, willing to go to any lengths to achieve her goals. At the same time, he felt sorry for Calliope, surrounded by such heartless people.

A few days later, Calliope went to the hospital for her scheduled prenatal check-up.

Meanwhile, Mia watched Calliope leave and happily called Nina. The two of them were excited, thinking their plan was about to succeed.

In the hospital corridor, Calliope was holding her paperwork, ready to go for her check-up. But halfway there, she saw a familiar figure in the corridor. She looked closely and saw it was Samuel.

She remembered that every time she saw Samuel, something bad would happen. She had a bad feeling and immediately turned to walk in another direction. But as soon as she turned around, Samuel seemed to appear like a ghost in front of her, getting closer and closer.

Calliope nervously took steps backward, but the end of the corridor was a wall, leaving her with no way out. Her palms began to sweat from the tension, and she could only watch as Samuel approached step by step.

"What do you want? Stop, don't come any closer!" Calliope's voice trembled as she shouted, trying to stop Samuel.

But the more she spoke, the faster Samuel's steps became. When he reached Calliope, he gave a wicked smile and whispered in her ear, "If you don't want your baby to die, come with me."

Baby die? Calliope frowned. Who was he, and why did he say her baby would die?

"I'm not going with you. Leave now." Calliope frowned, her body shrinking back.

Seeing Calliope's resolute expression, Samuel gave a sinister smile. With a snap of his fingers, Calliope's vision began to blur, and then she felt someone holding her hand, leading her forward. It was as if all her consciousness had disappeared.

Samuel looked back, satisfied with Calliope's reaction, and led her to the car with a smile.

At that moment, Jenny was still patiently waiting in the hospital lobby, completely unaware that Calliope had been taken away.

Time passed without anyone knowing how long. Calliope's every sense and action were controlled by Samuel.

When she heard another snap and woke up, Calliope opened her eyes to find she was no longer in the hospital but in a very luxurious villa. She looked closely and saw a man leisurely making coffee in the open kitchen. That man was Samuel.

In Samuel's villa, Calliope woke up and looked at the luxurious surroundings. The place was enormous, not as big as the Moore manor, but with the garden outside, it was at least half the size of the Moore manor.

Calliope was amazed as she observed. Samuel lived alone in such a big villa, but he was just a university professor. How could he be so wealthy? Calliope became even more curious about Samuel. Who was he? What was his background? Are university professors this rich now?

When Samuel noticed Calliope was awake, he gave a wicked smile, "Come on, let me show you around."

Calliope's mind was in turmoil, but she could only follow Samuel to tour the large villa. However, she was also very clear inside, or perhaps she wanted to tour the villa to understand its layout in case she needed to escape. But thinking about it seemed futile because every time she faced Samuel, her intelligence seemed to drop to zero.

"You must be curious why I brought you here because this is my home." Samuel's voice was filled with allure, as if it came from a distant curse.

Calliope was curious. Everyone knew this was his home, but why did he bring her here? They were clearly strangers.

"I want to know why you were at the hospital and why you brought me to your home?" Calliope slowly asked, staring at Samuel's back, unable to stop trembling.

"Because I knew you would go to the hospital, and because I want your baby to live. As for why I brought you to my home, you don't need to worry about that." Samuel turned back, smiling wickedly.

Calliope felt she couldn't understand a word Samuel was saying, so she stopped talking and just followed him.

She knew nothing about Samuel, and she was even more clueless about the strange things he did. But she always felt that Samuel seemed to know her very well, and she was easily controlled by him, just like this time.

She was having a prenatal check-up at the hospital, but she was silently taken to Samuel's home. However, Samuel didn't seem to harm her. She checked herself and found no injuries.

But what was Samuel's purpose?

The design style of the upstairs and downstairs was almost identical, but the layout of the rooms was very complex, like a maze. Anyone unfamiliar with the place would surely get lost every day.

As they walked, they entered a bedroom filled with pink items. The walls were painted pink, and there was a pink bed, table, vanity, and wardrobe, along with various stuffed animals scattered all over the floor and bed. It looked like no one had lived there for a long time, but it was very clean. Calliope thought that the person who lived in this room must have been very important to Samuel. Seeing that Samuel was only in his thirties, she guessed that with so many stuffed animals and a princess bed, it must be Samuel's daughter.

Samuel looked at everything in the room and murmured, "These are all things our Zoey liked."

Zoey? Not a daughter, but the Zoey they often mentioned?

"Zoey? Is it Zoey? And what is your relationship with Zoey?" Calliope frowned and asked. She had initially suspected that Samuel had a connection with Zoey but wasn't sure. Now, she had the chance to ask.

After she asked, she saw a large photo hanging on the wall. In the photo, there was a couple, and in front of them stood Samuel and Zoey.

So, they were a family? They were actually a family?
