Chapter 151

Calliope, extremely disgusted, calmly said, "Just because you're drunk!" She turned to Butler and ordered, "Throw him out, and don't let him come to the Moore manor again!"

"How dare you! Calliope, you're just a tool for having children in our family, what right do you have to control me?" Mia shouted loudly in a drunken rage.

Calliope unceremoniously ordered, "Throw him out! Take Mia back to her room!"

Mia was dragged upstairs, still cursing non-stop. These profanities made Calliope frown, but she didn't get angry. In her view, Mia was just a spoiled little girl.

Calliope still had Jenny give Mia some medicine to relieve her drunkenness. After a long ordeal, Ava helped her upstairs to sleep.

To help Calliope sleep more soundly, Jenny warmed a cup of milk for her. To avoid a repeat of last night's incident, she also had Ava move a chair to guard outside the door, just in case.

But lying in bed, Calliope tossed and turned, unable to sleep, feeling that something might happen. Through the floor-to-ceiling window, she seemed to hear footsteps on the grass.

Inside, only the ticking of the clock and her rapid heartbeat could be heard. Suddenly, a shadow appeared on the curtain, scaring Calliope into closing her eyes tightly, her palms and soles sweating.

When she opened her eyes again, the shadow was gone. Was she seeing things? Calliope curled up under the blanket, not daring to relax her vigilance. She heard rustling sounds again.

Could it be someone playing tricks again? Although she knew Zoey's incident was caused by Lucas, now that Sylvester and the others were not home, she was really afraid something might happen again.

That night, Calliope could only keep her eyes open until dawn.

Calliope kept her eyes open until dawn. When she looked in the mirror, she found deep dark circles under her eyes.

"What's wrong, Mrs. Moore? Didn't you sleep well last night?" Ava looked at Calliope's eyes and said with concern, "Miss Moore was really out of line. Bringing a man home was wrong in the first place, and then she spoke to you like that. It's really too much."

"It's okay, I didn't take it to heart." Calliope shook her head and glanced at the floor-to-ceiling window.

"Mrs. Moore, come downstairs for breakfast."

In the dining room, Calliope had just taken a bite of porridge when she heard the sound of high heels on the stairs. No need to guess, Mia was coming down. Calliope continued to eat, deciding to wait and see.

Sure enough, Mia stormed into the dining room, pointing directly at Calliope's nose and said, "Calliope, what right do you have to control me? Why can't I bring a man home?"

Calliope frowned, put down her bowl, and picked up a piece of bread, completely ignoring Mia.

Mia, feeling infuriated by being ignored, snatched the bread from Calliope's hand and threw it on the ground. "I'm asking you, what right do you have to control me?"

Jenny happened to come out and saw this scene. She hurried to Calliope's side, worriedly protecting her pregnant belly.

Calliope pushed Jenny's hand away, took another piece of bread, and simply treated Mia as if she were invisible, too lazy to explain. No means no!

In the afternoon, Mia clearly didn't take Calliope's words to heart and brought the man back to the Moore manor. She drove around the Moore manor: "Peter Simmons, look how big our house is! All of this will be Sylvester's in the future. Sylvester treats me the best. When the time comes, I'll tell Sylvester about Calliope bullying me, and you just watch."

But Peter's eyes showed a hint of depth; he was truly interested in more than just these superficial things.

Actually, when Mia introduced these things, she felt a bit guilty. She knew very well what Sylvester's attitude towards her was. How much could Sylvester, who usually ignored her, really spoil her?

In Sylvester's villa, Calliope stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking up at that floor, thinking about what happened with the shadow yesterday. Could it really have been her imagination?

But why did she always feel like someone was deliberately playing tricks?

She had Jenny check the video surveillance but found no suspicious people. It was not easy to get to such a high floor, but after checking around, she only found one place without surveillance where someone could climb up. It was too difficult to find anything.

This person must be very familiar with the Moore manor. Who could it be?

Calliope was thinking about these things and was about to go outside when she happened to run into Mia, whom she didn't want to see.

Mia got out of the car triumphantly, dragging Peter along, looking arrogant. "What? Do you think you can still control me today?"
