Chapter 64

Grace and Vivian were secretly thrilled, hoping Calliope was having a rough time.

Sylvester smirked, looking at Lucas behind Michael, and said, "Lucas knows this, right? First time was a hit, second time's a breeze."

"Sylvester, cut the crap," Lucas snapped, trying to keep his cool with all the elders around.

"Alright, I'll spill it! He's the one who wants the divorce!" Calliope pointed at Sylvester. He didn't even flinch; divorce talk was just another Tuesday for him.

Everyone bought it, and Jack let out a sigh of relief. It was just like Sylvester being Sylvester.

All eyes were on Sylvester now. His smile faded, and he turned slowly, squinting. "Is that so? Calliope, I'll give you one last chance."

From now on, Sylvester would control Calliope's every move.

"Did I lie? You told me to leave and wanted a divorce. I didn't agree." She looked innocent but was really just buying time. Running now wasn't smart.

Sylvester's smile turned playful, his eyes dangerous. "In that case, no divorce. Suddenly, you're quite charming."

The room went dead silent. Was he serious?

"Sylvester! Grow up and stop messing around!" Michael banged his cane on the floor, clearly annoyed.

Calliope was stunned by the sudden twist. Sylvester's mood swings were faster than flipping a switch.

Sylvester locked eyes with her, walked over, and without warning, scooped her up. She yelped, "What are you doing? Put me down!"

With a cheeky grin, he told everyone, "Alright, show's over. We need some rest." He carried her towards the elevator.

Everyone was shocked, especially Vivian and Grace, who looked pretty sour.

The butler cleared his throat, trying to lighten the mood. "Sylvester's just like that, but you can see he cares about Calliope."

"Young folks always clash at first, but it'll get better," Jack said with a smile, feeling relieved. It seemed Sylvester really did care for Calliope. If it were anyone else, Sylvester's temper would've blown things up by now.

John watched Sylvester's bold move and sighed, thinking, 'What just happened? Just like that, it is over.'

Sylvester's devilish grin returned as he carried her to the bedroom and tossed her onto the bed.

Calliope sat up, catching her breath, trying to stay calm. "You're joking, right? You said you'd handle all the fallout."

Sylvester, however, ripped off his tie and started unbuttoning his shirt with a mix of elegance and defiance. Any other woman might've given in, but Calliope just wanted to bolt.

"I changed my mind. Turns out, I actually like your..." Suddenly, he pinned Calliope down on the bed again, their faces inches apart. He smirked, "Your body."

Calliope instinctively pulled back. "But you don't love me!"

"Love or not, I'm not letting you go. We're stuck together till death." His serious look made Calliope's heart skip a beat. Was he for real?

Nobody knew. Only time would tell.

As the Gray family left the Moore manor, Grace and Vivian were blown away by its grandeur. They were in total awe.

"Mom! If I had known, I would've married into this family! Calliope hit the jackpot! If it weren't for those rumors about Sylvester's short lifespan, she wouldn't have stood a chance!" Vivian looked at the luxurious manor, almost crying with jealousy.

Grace nodded, "Exactly! Sylvester doesn't look sick at all! He's full of life! Who knows if those rumors are even true?"

"Mom, if Sylvester's fine, I'm the one losing out! Calliope would be over the moon! No way! I can't let her be happy! She doesn't deserve this!"

"Don't worry, I doubt she'll be happy for long. If it weren't for those rumors, no one would marry their daughter into this family. No one wants to become a widow," Grace reassured her.

Meanwhile, in the garden of another villa, Lucas stared at the starry sky, looking troubled. He picked up his phone and called Nina. "Nina, where are you?"

"I'm reshooting some scenes in Frostholm. It's so annoying, still not done." Nina's voice was full of impatience, clearly in a bad mood.

Lucas, deep in thought, hesitated before saying, "Nina, when are you planning to come back to Sylvester?"

"Why are you asking this now?" Nina's tone turned serious.

"If you want to come back, do it soon. Otherwise, you might not get the chance. Sylvester might actually have feelings for Calliope." Lucas's tone was firm.

On the other end, Nina felt a wave of panic, and the sound of her phone dropping revealed her tension.

Nina picked up the phone and urgently said, "Lucas, you have to help me! Otherwise, I'm done for! I never expected things to turn out this way. At the last dinner, he was so cold to me, and I never thought Calliope would just show up out of the blue!"

Originally, this was just a plan between her and Lucas to curb Sylvester's bad temper and stop him from being a feared demon.

Because if this continued, Sylvester's life would be ruined.

So, Nina planned the breakup to ignite his fighting spirit, but she never expected that instead of igniting his fighting spirit, it sparked a romantic rival.

The situation had changed. If Nina didn't act soon, the fake would become real, and she would be completely out of the picture.

"I don't know how to help you. Sylvester already hates me and won't listen to me." Lucas's helplessness was heartbreaking. The brotherly bond had turned into hatred because of Nina.

On the phone, Nina suddenly started crying, "But if I don't act now, I've completely lost. Everything I did was for his good. Why do I have to bear this result? It's not fair! I love him the most! I'm willing to give up everything for him!"
