Chapter 74

"She has a mole on her left shoulder, right?" Tom thought he was revealing some earth-shattering secret. Although it wasn't really a secret, it was in such a hidden place that not just anyone could see it.

Sylvester's hand froze on the car door handle, his face tensed, and his gaze locked onto Tom's sleazy expression, full of scrutiny.

"See, I told you! How could I be lying?" Tom thought he had successfully convinced Sylvester, feeling pleased. Given Sylvester's demeanor and generosity, a few thousand dollars were probably just pocket change to him.

But Sylvester closed the car door again, observing Tom with half-lowered eyelids, and questioned, "Who the hell are you?"

The sudden question stunned Tom, but he still wore a playful smile. "Didn't I tell you? I'm her father, and she's my daughter! Are you trying to date my daughter? If you want to win her over, you have to get past me first!"

Tom rambled on, while Sylvester fell into deep thought. This matter might be far more complicated than he had imagined.

Inside the Moore manor, Ava was walking with Calliope in the garden. Calliope had a smile on her face, seemingly in a great mood. Ava, however, frowned. "Mrs. Moore, why are you so happy? Didn't the doctor say you weren't pregnant?"

"These things should happen naturally. Why not be happy?" Calliope was relieved that she wasn't pregnant, her worries finally dissipated. If she had gotten pregnant with Sylvester's child, it would have been extremely troublesome.

Thinking of this, she felt even luckier that it was a false alarm.

At that moment, Ava walked through the flower wall and saw Sylvester's Maybach driving towards the parking lot. "Mr. Moore is back!"

Calliope, in a great mood, was about to go greet him, but her smile froze in the next instant because Sylvester was accompanied by Tom!

"Mrs. Moore, are you alright? You look so pale all of a sudden." Ava turned back and saw Calliope's pale face, thinking she was unwell.

How did Tom end up here with Sylvester? This was absurd!

"I suddenly don't feel well. I'm going back to my room!" Calliope said, panicking as she fled. What if that bastard told Sylvester something? Why else would he bring him back?

On the other side, Tom got out of the car, looking around as if he had entered Eden, grinning from ear to ear. Calliope was really lucky to have landed such a wealthy man.

Sylvester remained suspicious, glancing at the man behind him. Logically, someone like Tom shouldn't have any connection with a wealthy lady like Calliope.

"Mr. Moore, you're back," Ava greeted Sylvester politely.

He responded, "Where's Calliope?"

"Mrs. Moore said she wasn't feeling well and went back to her room to rest," Ava reported truthfully, as Calliope did look pale earlier.

"Take him to the living room to wait," Sylvester said coldly, then walked straight towards Villa No. 4.

"Alright!" Ava nodded and turned to Tom. "Please follow me."

Tom curiously examined Ava's maid outfit and said with a smile, "Your clothes are pretty. Is this the uniform for your housemaids?"

In the bedroom, Calliope stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at Tom outside, her brows furrowed. What should she do? How could she get rid of him?

The bedroom door suddenly opened, startling her. She turned to see Sylvester walking in.

Her heart pounded. She didn't know what Sylvester meant by bringing Tom back. Had he discovered something? Did he find out she was actually an illegitimate child and not the precious daughter from the Gray family?

"You're back," she said with a guilty smile, her expression unnatural.

Sylvester approached. "Where do you feel unwell?"

"Nothing, maybe I ate something bad," she said casually, her eyes occasionally glancing at Tom.

Sylvester caught her gaze and directly pointed it out, nodding towards the window. "Do you know that man?"

"No." Calliope shook her head innocently, her acting skills being put to the test. She had to stay calm!

Sylvester stared at her seriously, as if searching for something, a mocking smile forming at the corner of his mouth. "Really? He said you're his daughter."

Her heart felt like it had fallen into an abyss, beyond rescue.

"That's funny! My dad is Jack. Where did you pick up this lunatic? If you don't believe me, I can have my dad and me do a DNA test." She wasn't afraid of that; she was Jack's biological daughter, no doubt about it.

"Why did you bring him back? He's just a lunatic!" Calliope wished Tom would disappear immediately.

Sylvester said calmly, "He followed me back, asking for money. He started with a hundred thousand dollars."

A hundred thousand dollars!

If she could, Calliope would have dealt with that bastard right then and there! How dare he ask Sylvester for money? Shameless!

She laughed exaggeratedly. "He really is a lunatic. He should be sent straight to a mental hospital. He said he's my father? Just wait, I'll handle this."

With that, she walked towards the door, her expression darkening as she turned.

After a few steps, a wave of nausea hit her again. She clutched her chest, dry heaving.

She rushed to the bathroom, leaning over the sink, dry heaving for a long time but unable to vomit anything.

It was strange; the hospital check-up clearly showed she wasn't pregnant. Why did she feel like vomiting so often?

At that moment, Sylvester entered the bathroom, frowning as he saw her. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, just..." Before she could finish, another wave of nausea hit, but still, nothing came out.
