Chapter 175
If Zoey is indeed his sister, then everything that has happened at the Moore manor in the past few years has been done by Samuel alone.
Calliope felt a wave of anxiety. She was Sylvester's person, and also considered part of the Moore family. Samuel had her come over; could it be that he wanted to kill her?
Thinking of this, Calliope broke out in a cold sweat.
But facing Calliope's inquiry, Samuel seemed not to hear her. He was over there stroking those things, and after staying for a while, he took Calliope to another hall in the villa.
This hall was also resplendent and luxurious, but what surprised Calliope was that there was nothing in the hall except for a few sofas.
However, on the wall, there was a huge aquarium embedded in the entire front wall, and inside it, Calliope took a step back in fright. There was a shark in the aquarium, and it was the kind that could eat people!
The shark swam freely inside, completely ignoring their presence. But sharks are extremely dangerous; who knows if it might suddenly rush out and bite you, or even eat you whole.
Calliope didn't dare to think further and just stood there cautiously.
Seeing Calliope's reaction, Samuel's face showed a bit of pride, and he happily said, "I raised it. Isn't it cute?"
Cute? Such a big man-eating shark, and Samuel thought it was cute?
Calliope was so scared that she broke out in a cold sweat. Looking at Samuel, she suddenly felt that this man was simply too perverted.
No, she couldn't stay here any longer. She had to find a way to leave, or she couldn't imagine what Samuel might do to her.
Calming herself down, Calliope said to Samuel, "Mr. Davis, I've already toured your home, and it's getting late. I should probably not disturb you any longer."
"Not disturb? I never felt you were disturbing me." Samuel shrugged, indicating he didn't want Calliope to leave.
"But I'm a bit tired and want to go back to rest." Calliope frowned, feeling even more scared.
Samuel, however, smiled and said, "Have dinner with me."
"I think I'll go back to eat. It's been too much trouble for you already, and I feel quite embarrassed." Calliope waved her hand. She didn't want to stay; who knows what more terrifying things she might see? Her heart couldn't take the shock.
Seeing Samuel's determined look, Calliope thought that if she refused, he might do something unpredictable. So, she obediently agreed.
Seeing Calliope agree, Samuel called the butler, "Prepare dinner."
"Yes, I'll prepare it right away."
The butler's expression was very calm, but Calliope keenly observed that the butler looked very surprised when he saw her.
Could it be that she was the first person Samuel had brought home? But the butler's expression shouldn't be that surprised.
Calliope felt uncomfortable all over just thinking about it. The atmosphere in Samuel's villa was filled with weirdness everywhere. After dinner, she had to leave as quickly as possible.
In a certain café.
Nina had arranged to meet a friend and was sitting there eating snacks and drinking beverages, chatting leisurely. She was waiting for good news from the hospital.
Although Lucas had refused Nina's request, Nina still used her connections to arrange a doctor. Now she was just waiting for the good news that Calliope's child had been miscarried.
"Are you and Sylvester completely out of chances now? When you were with Sylvester before, you never had time to come out for coffee and chat with us." Nina's friend across the table teased her with a smile.
"How could that be? I'm not someone who values romance over friendship. Besides, Sylvester has been busy with family matters recently and hasn't had time to accompany me." Nina smiled sweetly in response, her face full of sweetness.
While they were chatting, Nina's phone suddenly rang.
"What? What did you say? She's missing?" Nina put down her coffee cup and asked in surprise.
The doctor on the other end told her that Calliope had disappeared halfway through the examination, and they couldn't find her after searching for a long time.
Nina suddenly started to panic. Did Calliope discover something? Otherwise, why would she disappear halfway through the examination?
Could Calliope have found out and told Sylvester everything? No, she had to hurry to the Moore manor to check.
After making up her mind, Nina forgot she still had a friend with her. She grabbed her bag and left the café, leaving her friend frowning alone.
But Nina had no time to care about her friend now. She was afraid that Calliope had already discovered their plan. Now, her only option was to go to the Moore manor. Sylvester must not find out about this. She had to clear her name first to ensure her own safety. Otherwise, even if Calliope's child was miscarried, she would have no chance.
The Moore manor.
At the Moore manor, Nina pretended to be calm and said she was looking for Mia. Jenny let her go upstairs.
Mia was still grooming herself, waiting for Nina's good news. She didn't expect Nina to come to her door first.
When Nina walked in and saw Mia's carefree demeanor, she paused at the door before walking in.
"Nina, why did you come suddenly? You didn't even call me first." Mia saw Nina and hurriedly got up, pulling Nina to sit on the sofa.
But Nina just calmly said, "Calliope is missing. The hospital called and said she disappeared halfway through the examination."
"What? Calliope is missing?" Mia asked in surprise.
"You didn't know? Calliope hasn't come back?" Nina looked at Mia's surprised expression and became more nervous. Calliope was missing and hadn't returned home. Where could she be? Could someone have set a huge trap for her?
"No, I told the butler to inform me as soon as Calliope came back, but I haven't heard anything." Mia shook her head, also very nervous.
Nina became more and more panicked. Could it be that Calliope really found out?
