Chapter 108-Ticking Clock Part 2

CJ

We arrived at the location, surrounding the place and slowly making our way in without getting caught. The abandoned airfield loomed ahead, a ghostly remnant of its former self. Our footsteps were carefully calculated, and each movement synchronized to avoid detection.

The team, composed of seasoned warriors and strategists, moved with silent efficiency. Shadows danced around us as we navigated through the overgrown grass and crumbling structures. The air was thick with tension, every sound amplified in the stillness of the night.

Helio, leading the team, signaled us to halt as we approached the main building. His eyes scanned the area for any signs of movement, his senses heightened by the gravity of our mission. We crouched low, blending in with the darkness, our breaths barely audible.

My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, a mixture of fear and determination. I could feel the weight of the responsibility on my shoulders, the lives of Lexy and pup intertwined with my own fate. With a silent nod, Helio indicated the path forward, and we resumed our careful advance.

Each step brought us closer to our goal, the hope of finding Lexy fueling our every action. The bond they shared was a beacon in the darkness, guiding us through the shadows. No matter what awaited us inside, we were ready to face it together.

The entrance was just ahead, a dilapidated door hanging by its hinges. I motioned for the team to spread out and take their positions. With a final, steadying breath, I reached for the door, ready to step into the unknown and bring Lexy back home.

We made our way in, moving stealthily through the labyrinth of forgotten hallways and vacant rooms. Each corner turned heightened our anticipation, our senses on high alert for any sign of Lexy. But as we reached the culmination of our search, dread began to seep into my bones.

At the end, Lexy wasn’t here. The room we entered was empty, save for the echoes of our footsteps and the remnants of what once was. It was a distraction, a cruel ruse designed to lead us astray. The realization hit me like a physical blow, the weight of despair almost overwhelming.

My vision blurred with frustration, and I felt my sanity slipping through my fingers. The emptiness of the space around us mocked our efforts, and the thought of Lexy still out there, somewhere, intensified my anguish.

I was going mad, the urgency throbbing in my temples, but I couldn't afford to lose control. Gathering every ounce of resolve, I forced myself to focus, to think of the next step. This wasn't the end. It couldn't be. We would regroup, find another lead, and keep fighting until Lexy was safe.

With renewed determination, I turned to face the team, their faces mirroring my own despair and resolve. "This isn't over," I whispered, my voice firm despite the turmoil within. "We will find her, no matter what it takes."

I had the men that were captured taking back to underground cells to be interrogated. I kept the hope that we would break them to tell us where they took her. I didn’t want to waste any time. The moment we arrive to the pack I’ll be interrogating them and will get the answers I want. Anger was seething through my whole body and Xazul wanted blood.

Another day has passed, and night has fallen. I still haven’t found a way out and I’m worried how bad Lei has been shaking. He has terrorized her with the thought of another man touching us in the way he insinuated.

The magic cuffs bound me, suppressing the very essence of my being. If I could only find a way to get them off, my powers would be unleashed, and I could escape this nightmare. I had to think, to find a crack in the cuffs that held me captive.

The weight of the stress I had been carrying began to bear down on me, and I realized I needed to find a way to calm my racing mind. I remembered CJ’s advice and decided to give meditation a try. I found a quiet corner, away from the only door in this room, and settled down on the ground.

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, allowing the tension to slowly ebb away. I focused on my breathing, each inhale and exhale grounding me, drawing me away from the chaos and into a place of peace. For a moment, I let go of the anger and fear, the relentless desperation to get out of here. I needed this clarity, this calm, to be able to think clearly and act decisively.

As I meditated, I visualized each of the obstacles I faced dissolving, piece by piece, leaving a path open and clear. I felt a renewed sense of purpose, a quiet strength building within me. CJ was right. Sometimes, a moment of stillness can provide the clarity needed to face the storm.

When I finally opened my eyes, I felt a newfound sense of resolve. I stood up, ready to face the challenges ahead, knowing that I had the inner strength to see this through. I must believe that I’ll get through this.

We finally arrived at the tribe, and I wasted no time and made my way to the interrogation room. I made it in before they were processed in. I was pacing back and forth in the room hating the wait, when Helio walked in. “Take a breather. They’ll have the first one in in 5 minutes” Helio spoke with a sigh. “Remember you got to stay levelheaded. And right now, Xazul seems to be coming through” Helio said while placing his hand on my shoulder.

I know that he’s right, but the time wasted to find them and not find Lexy is driving us crazy. “I know” I said I bit more rougher than I intended. I shook my body and let a huge breath out. “Now you’re looking better. Keep breathing son. We will get answers and find her” he responded.

The prisoner was finally brought in, and I wasted no time to question him. His demeanor was infuriatingly casual, a smirk permanently etched on his face. As I shot question after question at him, he laughed in response, a mocking sound that echoed around the room.

"Where is Lexy?" I demanded, my voice trembling with barely contained anger.

He chuckled again, shaking his head as if amused by a private joke. "You really think I’m going to tell you that?" he sneered.

The room seemed to grow hotter with each passing second, my patience wearing thin. "Answer me!" I shouted, slamming my fist on the metal table between us.

The prisoner’s laughter only grew louder, more taunting. "You’re wasting your time," he said with a grin. "She’s beyond your reach."
