Chapter 119- Reunion

Lexy

We were taking to the original tribe, and I was amazed how beautiful it was, but I can’t fully enjoy the view. My head is spinning with the thoughts of the injured people. My heart ached with sorrow for all the damage that happened on the battlefield.

As we entered the tribe's territory, the vibrant colors and intricate designs of their dwellings captured our attention, standing in stark contrast to the somber mood that hung over our group. The tribe welcomed us with open arms, their faces lit up at the sight of Lexy, the legendary queen whose tales of bravery had reached even the most remote corners of their land.
Lexy, ever the leader, pushed aside her own grief to meet the tribe's elders. She spoke with them about the needs of our injured and the preparations required for the burials. Her voice was steady, yet there was a heaviness in her eyes that spoke volumes. The elders, moved by her resolve and compassion, promised their full support.
The tribe's healers quickly set to work, tending to our wounded with a skill that seemed almost magical. Large fires were lit, and communal cooking began, as the tribe sought to nourish both our bodies and spirits. Evening fell, casting long shadows over the land, but within the heart of the tribe, there was a warmth that offered comfort and solace.

As the stars emerged, Lexy gathered us around a large bonfire. "Tonight, we honor those we've lost," she declared. "Their sacrifice has brought us to this moment, and it is their strength that will guide us forward." We listened, each of us drawing strength from her words and the flickering flames.

In the days that followed, we began to learn more about the tribe's ways. They taught us their songs, their dances, and the stories that had been passed down through generations. Lexy, true to her nature, immersed herself in their culture, finding solace in their ancient wisdom.

The bond between our groups grew stronger, and as we prepared to leave, there was a sense of renewal among us. Lexy's determination to lead us to a brighter future was infectious, and it became clear that our journey was far from over. The path ahead still held uncertainty, but we were ready to face it, united in our quest for resilience and courage.

Once everyone was settled and taken care of, I picked up Lexy in bridal style and took her to the queens’ room that was made for her. I knew if I didn’t do it this way she would continue to push herself to the bone. I knew how exhausted she was and what it could do to her.

I brought her in the room and straight to the bathroom. I had someone prepare a bath for her. I had her stand while holding herself to me and took her clothes off slowly. I put her in the bath and cleaned her gently from head to toe. I couldn’t stop thinking about all the questions I wanted to ask her about what happened to her, but at the same time I didn’t want to know the answer.
After a nice bath I began to dress her when I felt drops fall on my arm. I looked at her face and she was crying. “Muñeca que te pasa? (Doll, what’s wrong?)” I asked with a worried tone. “H-h-he took o-our baby” she wailed out. She let it all out and I just held her tight. I felt all her pain and sorrow and it broke my heart. She fell asleep in my arms crying her eyes out. While she slept I made a call and arranged something for the morning.

The next morning, I got up before her and went to the kitchen to prepare her breakfast and her surprise. Her surprise arrived right on time as I finished making her breakfast. I went up with everything ready and opened the door slowly. She was still asleep.
As I woke her up, she fought me to get up. “I got breakfast” I teased her. As she sat up and finally opened her eyes she was left in shock.

Lexy

CJ always love teasing me in the morning and he knew how much I hate being woken up. Once he said the words ‘breakfast’ I sat right up. When I fully opened my eyes I couldn’t believe my eyes. My pups were here and ran right into my arms. I began to cry with happiness. I kissed all their beautiful baby faces and held them tight.
I held each of them close, feeling their warmth and their love. It was a comfort I hadn't felt in what seemed like an eternity. The joy in their eyes reminded me of everything that was good and pure in the world.

CJ watched us with a gentle smile, knowing that this reunion was the balm I needed for my wounded soul. He had orchestrated this moment with care and love, and it was evident in the way my face lit up with happiness.

After the breakfast and joyous reunion, we spent the day preparing for our departure. Despite my exhaustion, I was invigorated by the presence of my pups. I gathered everyone, sharing plans and giving instructions with a strength that inspired.

As evening approached, we circled back to the bonfire that marked the beginning of this transformative journey. I addressed us one last time before our departure. "We move forward with the strength of our ancestors and the power of our unity," I said, my voice steady and strong.

The next morning, as we took our first steps out of the tribe's territory, the morning sun rose, casting its golden light over the horizon. It was a new beginning, and with Lexy at the helm, we felt invincible. The world was vast and filled with challenges, but together, we would carve out a legacy that would be remembered for ages to come.
