Chapter 122- Exciting News

Narrator

They often reminisced about the journey they had taken together, reflecting on the moments that had led them to this point. Sitting by the fireplace one evening, Lexy turned to CJ, her eyes filled with a mix of nostalgia and determination.

"We've come so far," she said softly, her voice imbued with pride and gratitude. "And yet, there is still so much left to achieve."

CJ nodded, his gaze steady and supportive. "We'll face whatever comes our way, together. Our strength lies in our unity."

Their dedication to each other and their tribe was unwavering. They continued to lead with compassion and wisdom, always keeping the well-being of their people at the forefront of their actions.

As the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, and now it has been 2 years, Lexy and CJ's bond only deepened. They found solace in each other's presence, drawing strength from the love they shared. Together, they navigated the challenges of leadership, always striving to create a better future for their family and tribe.

The story of The Great Phoenix and the prophecy became a cornerstone of their teachings, inspiring the next generation to embrace their heritage and prepare for the battles that lay ahead. With Lexy and CJ at the helm, the tribe felt a renewed sense of purpose and confidence, ready to face whatever the future might hold.

The triplets have turned 3 years old and are a couple of mischievous toddlers that are loved by everyone. They have started to be homeschooled since they grow bigger than kids their age. They look like 5-year-olds instead of 3-year-olds.

Lexy had begun making plans for changes she knew would be better for the people. 2 main things she wanted to focus on were expansions and unions across the country.

“Who are we waiting for to accept the sit down for next month?” I asked my coordinator. “We are missing 2 packs on the west, 1 pack in the north, 3 in central, and 1 on the east side” she responded. “Send a reminder to have a response by the end of the week. Tell them any questions they have will be answered at the meeting if they choose to attend”.

“What’s next in the agenda?” I asked. “All that’s left is the preparations for the next full moon in 2 weeks." “We are having other pack members joining us this year and we need to make sure nothing is missing to keep them comfortable” I responded. “Meeting done for the day. Go have some lunch” I tell everyone.

Once everyone left the room, except CJ I let a huge sigh out. “Muñeca are you feeling good?” he asked me while looking at me funny. “I’m fine. Why you ask?” I responded. Before he could answer I felt sick to my stomach and ran to throw up in the trash can. I finally was done throwing up and could catch my breath.

CJ rubbed my back the whole time. He handed me a glass of water and I drank it like my life depended on it. “How you knew?” I asked him. “It was weird but one of your eyes glowed and your skin color changed right after” he responded. “Really?! I feel better now” I let him know. But by the look of his face, I could tell he was worried.

“Ok. I’ll go see Dr. Bennet” I chuckled at him. He stayed with me the whole time while I got checked. “Results will be in in a couple of minutes” Dr. Bennet spoke before walking out. CJ kept holding my hand, but he seemed calmer than usual. Before I could open my mouth and say anything to him Dr. Bennet walked right in.

“Congratulations. Nothing is wrong with you. You’re just pregnant” she said with a big smile. “Pregnant?!” I shouted at her. She just nodded while getting the ultrasound machine ready to check my stomach. I looked at CJ and his eyes lit up like stars. We waited for her to find the heartbeat. The moment we heard it I began to cry.

“I don’t want to alarm you guys. But the heartbeat is a bit off. I want to see you once a week to keep an eye on it” Dr. Bennet let us know. CJ held my hand tight reassuring me it’ll be ok.

Doc gave a strict diet and caution until the baby’s heart was back to normal. I’m making sure she follows all the instructions to the letter. We decided not to tell anyone except Lala since she loves making her meals about the pregnancy. Not till Doc gave an all clear for both.

Doc had pulled me to the side before leaving the clinic and told me to keep an eye on Lexy and her mental state. After what happened with her last pregnancy she might get very overprotective and obsessive with keeping the baby safe. I don’t blame her for it, but she does have to stay stress free.

She spent the rest of the day with the pups while I took care of the office. After finishing up all the paperwork it was already past the pup’s bedtime. Lexy was laying with them on our bed while they slept on top of her. I took them one by one and placed them on their beds.

When I returned to the room after putting the last one Lexy was awake. “Did I wake you?” I asked her. “I was missing the warmth” she responded with a small smile. “I’m sorry. Let me get cleaned up and I’ll warm you up” I told her sleekly. She smiled at me and said, “Just take of your clothes and come to bed”. I did as she said.

Laying next to her holding her in my arms while she looks at me melts my heart. “The kids know about the baby” she said. She left me stunned for a moment by that statement. “H-h-how?” I asked her. When they laid down on me, they touched my stomach at the same time, and they spoke excitedly at the same time ‘Baby’.

Now I understand and I couldn’t help but smile at her. They always pick up on those things. “I did tell them not to tell anyone yet and they understand” she said to me. I kissed her and curled her into my body. “Good night mi reina”.
