Chapter 114- Confrontation
CJ
The time had come, and Tarria gave the signal that everyone was in their position and ready to go. I signal Tarria for our team to sneak in first and make our way to Lexy. We moved with silent precision, each step calculated to avoid detection. Shadows enveloped us as we advanced, making our way through the corridors toward our target.
Everyone knew that finding her without alerting them would benefit us and Lexy. Dad and the other teams were waiting to play their part and avenge their queen. The thought of the imminent confrontation sent a shiver down my spine, but I quickly pushed it aside. We had trained for this moment, and there was no room for doubt. The mission was clear: rescue Lexy and bring justice to those who wronged us.
As we navigated through the labyrinthine hallways, the tension was palpable. Every creak of the floorboards, every distant whisper seemed amplified in the oppressive silence. We communicated through subtle mind-link, each thought synchronized to perfection. I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins, sharpening my senses and heightening my awareness.
Bael
“Sh-she’s a-a-awake!” the doctor stuttered out the words.
The doctor's words hung in the air for a split second before Dion reacted. Without waiting to process it, he took off toward her room with a speed that made it impossible to hold him back. I tried to control him, to keep him grounded, but it was no use. He was mad with desperation, his hunger for her power driving him beyond reason.
He burst through the door without taking a moment to think. She had her eyes closed, but we knew she wasn’t asleep anymore. She opened her eyes while we were lost in thought and didn’t notice her looking at us. All I was trying to do was get Dion under control for our plan to work.
His demeanor changed in an instant. Dion began to approach her slowly, like a predator stalking its prey. His movements were deliberate, filled with a mix of caution and intensity. Every step he took seemed to carry the weight of his apprehension and the burning desire for the power she possessed. His gaze fixed on her, unwavering, as if any break in his concentration would shatter the fragile moment.
Once he got close to her bed he began to climb on it and over her body. She sat up and looked us straight in the eyes. We got distracted in her eyes and at that distraction she jabbed a needle on our side. The rage Dion had couldn’t and wouldn’t be stopped now.
Our fight began and she was fighting fiercely. Every hit she got on us felt like hell. ‘Her power is pouring out!’ Dion growled. I let him take over, but she kept up with us. until I noticed her fighting began to weaken. Dion gave her a very forceful hit to the stomach and she dropped to the floor.
Dion was about to strike the final blow to make her unconscious when someone ran in through the broken door with a fierce aura.
CJ
As I reached Lexy's room, the scene that met my eyes froze me in place. Lexy lay on the floor, her body trembling with pain and blood, while Bael stood over her, his beast radiating menace.
"Stop!" I shouted, my voice cracking with desperation. "Get away from her!"
Bael's eyes flickered toward me, a mixture of rage and confusion crossing his features. For a moment, time seemed to stand still as we locked eyes, the air thick with tension. But before he could make a move, I lunged forward, my instincts taking control. I had to protect Lexy, no matter the cost.
Xazul's presence surged within me, lending me strength and determination. I collided with Bael, our bodies crashing together in a chaotic blur of motion. The impact sent us both sprawling, but I quickly regained my footing, fueled by a fierce need to protect. Bael's beast roared in defiance, but I didn't back down. This was a fight I couldn't afford to lose.
As we clashed, I could feel the power of Xazul flowing through me, guiding my every move. I struck with precision, my blows landing with a force that surprised even me. Bael staggered back, his beastly form wavering under the onslaught. For a moment, it seemed as though victory was within reach.
But Bael was not easily defeated. With a snarl, he regained his balance, his eyes burning with renewed fury. He lunged at me, his claws slashing through the air. I barely managed to dodge, the force of his attack sending me crashing into the wall. Pain radiated through my body, but I pushed it aside. Lexy needed me, and I couldn't let her down.
With a roar of determination, I charged at Bael once more. This time, I aimed for his weak points, my strikes calculated and precise. Bael's beast howled in agony as I landed blow after blow, each one weakening him further. Finally, with a final surge of strength, I sent him crashing to the ground.
Panting and covered in sweat, I turned to Lexy. She lay there, breathing shallow and labored. I saw Tarria protecting her with the rest of the team. I rushed to her side, my heart breaking at the sight of her pain. "Lexy," I whispered, my voice trembling. "I'm here. You're safe now." Her eyes fluttered open, filled with a mixture of pain and relief. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice barely audible. I cradled her in my arms, the weight of the night's events pressing down on me.
Lexy
I did the best I could to fight him off since the moment he approached me. I didn’t want to lose my life, but I wasn’t going to allow him to have me. He had underestimated my resolve, and I had fought with every ounce of strength and courage I possessed.
Even fighting with all my might I was losing strength. I wasn’t fully healed from losing my child. He hit me dead in the stomach and I dropped to the floor. When I thought it was all over, CJ burst in through the broken door and began to fight him.
CJ fought hard until he was able to knock Bael down. He rushed to my side, and I couldn’t hold it in any longer and began to cry in his arm. He lifted me and was making his way out when a commotion erupted in the building.
