Chapter 87- Moments Before Battle

I barely slept last night with the anticipation of today’s battle. I woke up earlier than I needed to be and decided to spend time in the kids’ room. I chose to meditate while they slept. During my meditation I could feel my babies and my mate. In the process of connecting with them I was taken somewhere else.
As I looked forward I saw mother. I ran to her and hugged her tightly. “Mother I’m scared of what’s to come. I’m trying to stay in control, but now I’m doubting myself” I cry to her. “My child, things will be alright. You are stronger and smarter, believe in yourself and the ones around you. You will change everything” she responded with a sweet tone.
“Now, don’t cry my child and stay resilient. There’s one more thing, when you really need it, it will come to you” she spoke and then faded away.
I was brought back by my babies’ words. “Mami mami” they said together. I opened my eyes wide and felt tears rolling down my cheeks. They were all smiling while standing on their cribs. As I stood up to pick them up CJ walked in the room. “There you are. You scared me when I woke up and didn’t find you in bed” he spoke softly.
“I’m sorry. Couldn’t sleep and didn’t want to wake you” I responded sheepishly while giving him a big smile. “They said ‘mami’ all at the same time” I told CJ. “They are the ones that woke me up. I could hear them in our room”. “Mami, papi up, up” the triplets spoke again. They had said words before, but this is the first time they have spoken this much. They usually babble away.
CJ and I spent the last hour with our babies and since the meditation this morning, they have been very vocal. Our moms walked in to take them as planned. I couldn’t stop kissing them and hugging them as I handed them off. “Please keep them safe” I tell them. “Nothing will happen to them” the guard responded. I nodded in understanding.
CJ grabs my hand and leads me out the room. “We will come back to them” he spoke softly. “I know” I responded and gave him a light kiss. We headed outside to meet with everyone else. You can feel the tension in the air with every step we took. Seeing everyone’s faces gave me the balance I need to stay focus.
They all looked fierce, determined, and ready for battle. This is my time to stay strong and lead my people to victory. To show them everything we have been working for and to protect does who can’t. I was having this feeling of fury running through my entire body and it felt like it was leading.
We all walked into the battlefield area and waited for them to show up. Dad kept the scouts monitoring their movements and we know they are on their way here. “Sweety is almost time. I just got word they are approaching us now” dad reported. “Thanks dad” I responded. “Is time everyone. Please be vigilant and please stay safe. I know will get through this” I spoke to everyone.
“We will claim victory and go home to our loved ones. I believe in you whole heartly” I finish speaking. I could feel their confidence and resolution.
Alpha Pokine
It was the morning of the battle, and we were already in route to the location we were given in the envelope. I never heard of the doc and my men could not locate him. Without the doc I couldn’t confirm Cecel’s medical state. The nurse kept taking care of him the way the doc told her too, but she wasn’t much help for the information I needed.
I told my men to keep going with the plan. I was leaving guards around the grounds but what Cecel didn’t know is that I was leaving my best team to keep an eye on him while we were in battle. He was my ticket out in case things don’t go my way.
I know they want him more than what they want me and since he refuses to tell me everything he knows then he’s no use to me. he will be my bargaining chip. Right now, we are nearing the battlefield and I could feel the tension in the air. every step we take is either a step to our death or a step to our victory.
Cecel
Pokine had no choice but to leave me behind since the doc never showed up. I know that he thinks that he’s been keeping his plan a secret but I’m smarter and stronger than him. I know he has men hidden keeping an eye on me.
What they don’t know is that my plan is already in motion, and I will be out of here no matter how the battle ends. I know my body is still not ready for any type of battle. I will be bringing the nurse with me along with everything Pokine took from my compound. My men are prepared for my signal. The men that left with Pokine know to stay behind Pokine’s men for when the time is right they will take off from the group.
The only information I still don’t have is the gender of Lexy’s child and I never heard back from Riz since right before the attack happened. I’m starting to think she was caught and that is unfortunate. After all the time I spent on her to make her my best weapon she gets caught.
Right on time like every day nurse Savyn walked in my room. “Good morning. Ready for therapy?” she asked with a cheery smile. “How about we change plans for today?” I ask her. “And what do you have in mind Mr. Cecel?” she responded. “You’ll see soon enough” I responded while winking at her. “Well, first thing is breakfast and then whatever it is you have in mind”.
