Chapter 94- Theory

Another month and there still haven’t been any sightings of Cecel. Not even a close call or anything. I was frustrated about it, but Lexy has been taking it very calmly. Her behavior has surprised me a lot, but I decided to take a page from her book. She has been a lot calmer, focused and patient.
In 3 months, our pups will be 1-year olds. All the family has been talking about their birthday and what to get them. Lexy and I already prepared for that. Aside from that things have been moving smoothly and I couldn’t be happier.
“Mi amor. Is everything ok?” Lexy called out to me. “Yes. Sorry, I spaced out” I responded sheepishly while rubbing the back of my head. “What’s on your mind?” she asks with an eyebrow raised. I give her a big grin, walk up to her, wrap my arms around her and kiss her. “Woohoo!” someone hoots at us. “Get a room!” someone else says.
I stopped kissing her to realize everyone was around us. I forgot we were in the training fields going over a new workout plan. I chuckled at everyone’s comments and kissed her again. “Come on guys. Back to where we were” Lexy says as she softly pushes me off.
Cecel
“Morning Cec. Come on wake up. You have overslept today” I heard a sweet voice speaking to me. “Ugh” I responded without opening my eyes. I woke up after her soft lips touched mines. “Ok, I’m awake” I say. “Finally. You are a hard man to wake up. Now get cleaned up and come eat your breakfast” she responded.
I know I’ve been a whole different man since I found her. I didn’t even want to find a mate, but I never thought I would be acting the way I am. I have 2 of my men keeping an eye out for Lexy’s team or anyone helping her. I also sent a man to check on Pokine’s pack to see what they can find out.
I’ve been uneasy and I can’t explain why. I decided to train Savyn to protect herself. She understands that I’ve done a lot of wrong things but that never made her look at me any other way. I don’t know why I was even granted a fated mate and at this point of my life.
I’ve still been training my body and my men’s. We must stay ready in case any of our enemies ever find us. My men suggested to leave the states and head to our hideout in Greece. I’ve been thinking about it, but we run a risk with Helio’s original tribe. I know that we will need to move soon.
Lexy
Today we were discussing the next steps to take about Pokine and his men. We got Pokine to talk and let us know the name of the girl he took and her profession. Her name is Savyn and she’s a nurse. Pokine wasn’t sure why he took her besides that she was his nurse, and he also mentioned that he kept her close as the battle approached.
Now, I’m not sure about the information but it did pique my interest. Why would he Hold on to her that closely. Is she his mate or did he have ulterior motives to keep her? I had so many questions and no answers. We finished the meeting, but I stayed seated, and CJ stayed with me. I decided to pick at his brain.
“Mi amor. I have something I want to ask you. Why did you approach me that day at the fields?” I asked with curiosity. I can tell I caught him by surprise by his face expression. “Well, the first time I saw you I became entranced with your eyes and hair. I didn’t understand why I couldn’t stop thinking about you then. That day I followed you to the field so I could get to know you” he responded.
His answer left me a bit of shock. He grabbed my face and kissed me. That brought me back to earth to continue asking him questions. “Did you know we were mates then?”. “I didn’t know. I actually didn’t understand why I was so attracted to you. No one had ever got my attention like you did” he responded while staring into my eyes.
“I’m happy I chose to follow you. And every day I thank the moon goddess for making you my one and only. I love you my fiery Queen”. He didn’t let me even respond and kissed me again. When he released us from our kiss he spoke again, “Are you going to tell me why you are asking this question?”. “I think Savyn might be Cecel’s mate” I responded.
That statement left him dumbfounded that his jaw almost dropped to the floor. “I know it sounds crazy, but the way Pokine described Cecel with her it sounds possessive. Like the way you just described the need to follow me” I spoke thoughtfully. “And by the way Tarria described the fight from that day, the girl didn’t fight him taking her either. Is just a theory of mine”.
After the meeting today we went around the tribe to see how everyone was doing and to get some fresh air. It was a good day out and we were ready to see our pups. The moment we walked through the door we could hear all the ruckus they were making. “Come on kids. Time to get ready before your mami and papi show up” we heard mama Sheera telling them.
Before we even got closer they came running towards us excitedly saying, “Mami, papi”. “Are you guys behaving with your Nani?” I asked them. They halted in their steps and opened their eyes wide. CJ and I both chuckled at the sight.
Before they could answer us we picked them up and began to tickle them until they couldn't laugh anymore. I couldn’t stop smiling while looking at their faces.
