Chapter 35- The Calm

After a morning of love making, we got up in the afternoon. I hadn’t checked the time yet. We got up and went straight in the shower. Once we got dressed we went downstairs to the kitchen and grabbed a bit to eat. After we finished eating we headed to Alpha Trevor’s office to discuss the kidnapper and my powers. I knew that he was going to ask questions, especially after what happened in the cells. On our way to the office CJ told me what happened at the ceremony. I didn’t know what to think about that. I don’t have control when things happen and that is bothering me. “Can you start my training after the meeting? I need to get control of what’s happening to me” I said to CJ. “Yeah that’s no problem. I’ll also talk to Alex to find the best female fighter too” he responded seriously. I nodded my head.
We sit with Alpha Trevor and discuss everything that has been happening to me. We finally told him that Sheera suggested to take a trip to Puerto Rico and have a sit down with abuela about what she knows. “If you give us the okay, we will travel as soon as possible” CJ stated. “There’s no problem with that. I do hope you find answers Lexy” Alpha Trevor said kindly. “Thank you Alpha”. We left his office and I feel a bit of relief. We went straight to CJ’s parents and told them the news. They immediately booked our flights and will be heading to Puerto Rico in 2 days. I was excited and nervous. Excited to visit Puerto Rico and nervous to what I will find out once I’m there. I decided not to think about it and go ahead and begin to pack. Sheera told me to be pack light clothes because it gets hot. And to make sure is comfortable.
After packing my bag and helping CJ with his we decided to call our friends and enjoy a light day. We get into his truck and head to the park to meet up with everyone. I was looking forward to not think about what’s going on with my life. Like always CJ holds on to my hand the whole way to the park. Once we arrive at the park, we noticed the crew had already arrived. “Hey guys. About time you guys joined us” Rubi greeted us. “Hey y’all. Very funny Rubi” I responded with a chuckle. I hug the girls while CJ did his bro hugs. The guys went to the go play basketball while I went to a picnic table close to the basketball courtyard. I caught the girls up with some of the stuff. They were there during the ceremony and wondered about what happened to me. And that’s how the conversation began to catch them up. They had questions but also didn’t ask me much. They were just happy that I was fine and happy that I was part of the pack. After that conversation they caught me up with some rumors and some events that were coming up. I told them I would be flying to Puerto Rico in 2 days and wasn’t sure when we were going to come back.
They understood and all they could say was “Get us some souvenirs”. I laughed at that. “Sure” I laughed out. As we were laughing about a joke Rubi said, CJ came from behind and wrapped himself around me and planted a kiss on me. “Eww, you’re sweaty” I said to him. he chuckled and went back to the guys. As he was reaching the guys I yelled to him “Hey!”. He turned around “What’s up?”. “Can you give me a couple of bucks to get drinks?” he came back to the table and gave me his wallet. “Don’t go alone or too far”. He kissed me and walked back to the guys. The girls giggled at our interaction. “Come on girls. Let’s get does drinks” I motioned them to get up. We walked to the little store close by the bathrooms. We reached the store and got drinks and snacks. I turned around to look back towards CJ and he had stopped playing basketball and was just keeping his eyes on me.
After getting the things, we head back to the table and hang out for another 2 hours. The guys ended on the table with us for the last hour telling us jokes and embarrassing each other with childhood stories.
CJ
After the park we all head to our homes. We made it right on time to eat dinner with the family. We sat down and mom kept telling us about Puerto Rico from her time growing up in the island. Came to find out my mom was a bit of a wild child. We laughed at some of her stories and antics. After dinner we decided to have a family night and play some video games and watch some movies. It was about midnight when I noticed Lexy had fallen asleep on me and my parents were already walking to their room. I picked her up and took her to our room. I laid her on our bed and when I turned around to go use the bathroom, I heard her say something in her sleep. I turned back around and get close to her. “We will be reborn a new”.
I didn’t know what to think about that, but I grabbed a notebook she was keeping her finds in and wrote it down. Then I heard her again. “We will be set free soon”. After I wrote it down, I heard her panic. “Noooooo!!”. I ran to her side and the moment I held her she was back to a peaceful sleep.
I whispered in her ear “I love you and I’ll always be here”. I kissed her forehead and snuggled her closer to me. I wanted to make sure she felt me and didn’t have another nightmare. At first I couldn’t fall asleep but then her scent became very strong, and I felt a calm come over me.
