I know I was closing in on her, but her scent felt like it was everywhere. For a moment I thought I smelled a different scent but same way I smelled it disappeared. Her scent became a bit stronger but still couldn’t find her. I swear she’s lucky he wants her in one piece because I would have killed her. We should have been at the pack 2 days ago.

I hate sitting here and not do anything. Leila had me leave my scent in a lot of trees before we took a turn and ended here. I hate feeling like this. Not knowing what’s going to happen and not being able to fight back. just hiding until I’m found. But I know is my best option now. As I’m sitting here stuck in my head, I start hearing noises closing to the spring. I can feel someone is approaching the waterfall. ‘OMG I think he found us’ I said to Leila with worry. Before she could respond I saw I figure approaching the water opening. There was nowhere to hide in here. I didn’t even want to look up to see who it was, but I knew I had to stay strong. I lifted my head to look up to whoever it was coming for me.

As her scent got stronger, I could her the water flow from the waterfall she mentioned. I ran so fast that almost ended inside the water. I decided to approach slowly just in case the rogue was around. I got closer to the waterfall, but her scent wasn’t strong enough around here. ‘The waterfall blocking her scent’ Xazul let me know. I went behind the waterfall and there she was looking down stuck all the way to the rock wall. As I began to approach her she looked up at me and her beautiful green eyes is all I could see. That’s when she realizes I was in front of her. I just ran up to her and picked her up. She wrapped herself around me and began to cry. “You found me” she said through tears. “I told you I would my love” I gave her a kiss and took her out from behind the waterfall.
On the other side the team had closed in on the rogue but than his scent trail disappeared. We regrouped and headed towards the vehicles. I carried her the whole way to the vehicles and even when we got inside, I sat her in my lap and let her sleep the ride back home.

I was going in circles when I picked up a couple of different scents in the air. She left me doing circles looking for her and almost missed the group approaching me. I was so mad that I wanted to kill but knew I needed to get away while I could. I pulled my unscented spray and sprayed myself. Then I took off east and put some distance from whoever was chasing me. Once I felt there was enough distance I traced back and picked her scent again but this time it was with the group I smelled earlier and another group. Too many wolves for me to get her. I followed a bit until they got in vehicles and left in the direction of Stone Valley Pack.

I’m not happy that we couldn’t catch that rogue but the most precious thing in my life is Lexy and that matters more now. She was exhausted. Even when we arrived she didn’t wake up. Everyone was happy to see her again safe and sound. I took her to our room and laid with her holding her as tight as I could without crushing her. Apparently I was exhausted too. I woke up with her sleeping on my chest and never felt when we changed our position. The sun was already out but I didn’t want to wake her up or move from the bed. I didn’t want to go anywhere or let her out of my sight.
As I was passing my hand through her hair, she began to move. I could feel her waking up but fighting it. “Good morning my Phoenix. How you feel?” I whispered to her. “mmhmm” she made noise to disapprove the wakeup call. I chuckled at that. She was too cute when she did things like this. She finally looked up at me and the moment our eyes connect, she gets a big smile on that gorgeous face. I grabbed her face and kissed her passionately. I missed her so much. 2 days without her was misery, a torture that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Waking up in his arms felt like heaven. I didn’t even finish waking up when he grabbed my face and kissed me passionately. I returned the kiss because I realize I really missed him. I didn’t want to be apart from him ever again. He let me go and said for us to go take a shower since we both were stinky from the woods. “Great idea. I haven’t showered in days” I said laughing. He laughed right with me. “By the way, thank you for rescuing me. I’m sorry..” I was saying as he approached me and kissed me again. “You don’t have to thank me. I’m supposed to keep you safe” was his response.
We got in the shower, and he helped me scrubbed down. I returned the favor to him. he kept looking at me with worried eyes but so much love in them. I couldn’t help but tear up a bit. Thanks to the water he didn’t notice the tears. When we finished the cleanup, we got dressed and headed downstairs to the kitchen to join the family for whatever meal they are on. I’m not sure what time is it but don’t care as long as I’m with him. When we walked into the room everyone was happy to see me. They all rushed me and gave me hugs. Not use to the hugs. But then push me to sit on the table and began to serve me what looks like lunch foods. I was starving so I went right in. The food was delicious and the conversations very interesting. I noticed that CJ had a big grin on his face. I wanted to say something to him but chose not to. That smile suits him plus the food was too good to stop eating.

I probably looked like a creep, but I couldn’t stop staring at her while I had a huge smile on my face. Seeing my family interact with her and her interactions with them told me how much love her and need her in my life. Now I understand the mate bond. Now I know what my parents are the way they are with each other. It really is a love that can be described, and I thank the moon goddess for given her to me. I would protect her with my life.“Lexy” I get her attention from the family and her plate of food.. “Yeah” she looks at me with curiosity. “I LOVE YOU”. The whole room fell silent.
