Chapter 111- Desperation and Uncertainties

Lexy
Our sadness began to consume us as the time moved on. I knew that the monster would come in soon and I just don’t care. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t stop crying. He took my pup from us. ‘He KILLED our pup’ Lei growled.

I entered her room once I heard she had woken up, but what I saw was far from it. She was unconscious and doctors couldn’t figure it out. The room was filled with heavy silence, punctuated only by the rhythmic beeping of machines. Her face was pale, and she looked so pale lying there, almost as if she could disappear at any moment.

The doctors checked her eyes, and they were rolled to the back of the head. The best way they explained it after looking at her was that she’s in a coma. “What caused this?” I growled out. Everyone in the room went silent and put their heads down. No one gave me an answer.

I stormed out of the room while coursing. ‘WHAT THE FUCK HAPPEN?!’ I growled to my Dion. Dion didn’t respond and just kept pushing forward to be let loose and I wasn’t going to keep him in. The moment I stepped outside I let him take over and he has no mercy. Killing anything in his path as he runs free through the forest.

I woke up by Xazul howling through me. Whatever it was I knew it wasn’t good. The rage and sadness that coursed through me was unbearable. I could feel Xazul's pain echoing within me, amplifying my own until it was almost too much to bear. I was covered in sweat and couldn’t hold on to my sanity. Something was very wrong with our mate.

Xazul pushed me out the door and I didn’t resist him. ‘MATE’ Xazul kept growling. The moment we stepped outside I knew something really bad had happened. The whole tribe was outside, and it wasn’t morning yet. I could see the sorrow in their faces, and we couldn’t take it anymore. Xazul let out a big howl in the middle of the tribe and then took over and ran off to let out steam.

Once Xazul calmed down, we returned to the tribe and went straight to business. Everyone knew something was wrong with Lexy due to the connection she has with the tribe. I could see the fear and worries in everyone's eyes. It was time to find her, and I wasn't going to rest till I did.

Calling an urgent meeting with the tribal elders, I detailed our plan to search for Lexy. Every able-bodied member was assigned to different search parties, covering every possible area she could be. The bond we shared with her meant we could all sense her presence faintly, like a distant heartbeat guiding us.

I led the first group through the dense forest, my senses heightened, and my resolve unyielding. As we moved deeper into the woods, the air grew thicker with tension. "Stay alert," I commanded, my voice slicing through the oppressive silence.

Hours turned into an agonizing eternity. Just as hope began to wane, a glimmer of something caught my eye—a piece of Lexy's torn garment snagged on a branch. "I found a trace of her," I whispered, feeling a renewed surge of determination. We pressed on, navigating the treacherous terrain with unwavering focus.

I had Tarria at my search party, and she took the lead after finding a clue. We were 2 states away from the tribe when I received a call from Helio. “Return to the tribe now!” he spoke exasperated. Before I could say anything he spoke again, “The elders are sure they found where they are”. “On our way” I responded quickly. I mind-linked my group and let them know the news. Tarria contacted the other groups as we made our way back.

When I arrived, I wasted no time and went straight to the conference room to find out what the elders found. I had no time to waste. The room was filled with tension, and the air was thick with anticipation. The elders were gathered around a large map, their faces grave.

“We have pinpointed her location,” one of the elders said, pointing to a remote area deep in the forest. “It seems she was taken to Greece. A few miles away from the old ruins.”

Without hesitation, I began organizing the rescue mission. Each team member was briefed on their roles, and we moved with a sense of urgency and precision. The bond we shared with Lexy gave us strength and unity.

As I was packing the things I needed for the trip our moms walked in through the door with desperate expressions. They were holding the triplets tight to their chests. I rushed to them, “What are you guys doing here? Ya’ll are supposed to be hiding with them. Wh..”.

I was caught off by mom when she spoke up. “The kids said somethings and haven’t woken up since then!” she said worriedly. Before I could speak Xiomara spoke up. “I think they felt what we felt. Something is wrong with Lexy, and they know it”.

“I hate to say this but catch me up on the way to get Lexy back” I told them while I turned to look at my pups. I will bring mom back my babies, I thought to myself. “Pack what you need for them and be out in 5 minutes”. I kissed my pups’ heads, took my bags and walked out to meet with Helio and dad.

I needed to put up an extra plan of protection now for my pups. I didn’t explain to them what happened just what needed to get done and they did without question. I kept myself focused on the task at hand and once on the plane I’ll ask our moms what my pups said before closing their eyes.

I met with everyone out front andcproceeded to our destination. It was an hour walk until we got to the vehicles and proceeded to the airport. All I thought about was getting to Lexy and bringing her home. After 30 minutes we made it to the airport and the quicker we border the quicker we would be in the air.

As I opened my eyes I noticed that my surroundings looked different. I blinked a couple of times to adjust my sight, but I still couldn't recognize the room. I tried to talk to Lei, but she wasn’t responding, and it was worrying me. I chose to stand up and walk around.

My worries washed away after I opened the door and stepped out of the room. It was a sweet, beautiful paradise. I don’t know how I got here or where here was, but I didn’t want to leave. It was so liberating, and I couldn’t remember what I was worrying about.
