Chapter 58- The Rescue
Lexy
I wasn’t sure what happened at first until the next day. I ended up sleeping the rest of the day all the way till this morning. I woke up with clarity and began to write it down while telling CJ about it.
“I met mother again. She is the moon goddess sister. She showed me the first war and it was horrible. I have more control on how the war goes but didn’t explain how. She kept mentioning my final transformation would be the time I understood everything. One thing she left clear is that you play a big role in who I become and the importance of us being one. She embraced me and gave me the last boost to face what’s coming”. I finished talking to CJ while I finished writing every detailed I remembered.
After I finished writing, we got ready and headed downstairs for breakfast. We sat with everyone else in the main dining room and had a lot of good conversations. I love the people in the pack and how they don’t treat me differently even though I’m the daughter of the king. CJ let me know dad had already left in the night and now is a waiting game. I’m worried about dad and mom.
I decided to walk around while CJ went to train. Of course I wasn’t alone, Yarielis was with me along with 3 more guards. I got to know more about the pack and got to see the school and the things they teach. They are advanced even though they live out in the wild. The kids loved playing with my hair. I had it loose and wild since I hadn’t brushed it in a couple of days. It just made me giggle.
After spending most of the day with the kids, I decided to go to the kitchen and help out. Lady Marisol was already going at it in the kitchen. “Good afternoon lady Marisol. Can I help you cook?” I asked shyly. “Madam. No need to worry about the kitchen. I got it” she responded. “Please let me help. I love to cook, and I want to share meals I’ve learned to cook with my mate’s family”. I gave her the puppy eyes and she smiled at me. “If you insist madam”. “Please call me Lexy”.

I took off while Lexy slept. The only thing on my mind was to keep her safe and get my mate safely back. I made sure all the planning was done before heading out and we would add the last details once we regroup with the scouts. We are 30 minutes away and the adrenaline is going through me. I also don’t like being away from my people.
I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn’t realize we had arrived at the meet up point. “How’s it looking?” I asked my man. “They just have one layer of men on the outside and they are spread. We found the best area to enter without being spotted. But we’re not sure how many are inside the compound”. I nodded at him and finished laying out the plan and the best time to infiltrate the compound. Now was the waiting game until nighttime and I hate waiting.
Nighttime finally came and I was ready. We even have a strategy in case things go south. We began our infiltration and every move and second count. We breach the perimeter and enter through the basement window. Once we all get in we check every room before heading up. All rooms were cleared so we continued down a dark hallway until we found the stairs. We couldn’t move too fast because we didn’t know the full layout of the building.
When we reached the ground floor we stepped in carefully. We kept an ear out for anyone approaching us. We could hear banter and commotion down the hallway which made me think it was their living room. Decided to head upstairs to avoid the rowdy bunch. We made it to the second floor and began going room by room slowly and quietly. I was just hoping to find her quick and get out, but it has not worked out like that.
The 2nd floor was cleared of our mission, so we moved on to the 3rd floor. We stopped when I heard steps coming down from the 3rd floor. We hid in the dark space until the coast was cleared. Once we heard them get to the ground floor we began going up to the 3rd floor. As we approached the last steps I could hear a woman’s whimper. That made my heart pump harder and faster, but I had to keep my composure until we had her and were out of here.
We slowly reached where the sound was coming from and opened the door slowly. There was someone tied up but couldn’t see much in the dark room. Before I could access the room we had to rush into it due to the noise coming from the stairs. Once we were all in we took positions in case whoever came into the room. when we noticed the voices were getting far away from us I decided to approach the woman. She was whimpering and it was breaking my heart.
When I took the bag off her head it was my mate, and I couldn’t smell her wolf. “Xiomara” I whispered to her. She was crying and I wanted blood. I calmed my wolf down and we stayed focused on the next part of the mission. Getting us out of this place without getting caught.
“You’re ok now. We’re going to get you out of here. Can you walk?” I was speaking softly. She nodded in response with tears coming down her eyes. Before we opened the door she spoke to me. “Lexy found you?”. I nodded yes in response. “She’s not safe. He wants her and doesn’t care what it takes” Xiomara said frantically.
