Chapter 84- Closing In
Cecel
A week has passed by and Pokine has been acting very shady and seems to be avoiding me. Something is going on and today he will tell me whether he likes it or not. I have begun to move my body better and what no one knows is that I can walk without help.
I’ve been waiting all day for Pokine to show up. I called the nurse. “Take me to Pokine!” I demanded from her. “Sir you can’t leave” she protested. “TAKE ME TO HIM NOW!!” I growled at her. She froze on the spot and then moved out of the room. I was going to yell again when she came in with the wheelchair.
She wheeled me to his office and when we approached the door I grabbed the doorknob and pushed it open without knocking. “Am I interrupting something?” I asked sarcastically. I could tell I surprised him with his reaction. “C-C-Cecel. Wha-what are you doing here?” he stumbled on his response. “Wondering why you are avoiding me?” I said straight forward while watching him squirm.
His mouth open and then closed. He was having a hard time coming up with words. “My apologies. Th-things have been busy, and I didn’t want to bother your recovery” he finally responded. “Since I’m here, do you want to update me on the situation?”. “Well, we umm we are preparing for when time is to confront them. I want to be prepared to win” he responded.
While he was speaking I looked around his office and noticed some of my papers on his desk. If he thinks he’s going to use all the hard work I’ve done to get her power, he is sadly mistaken, and I will get him when he least expected. For now, I’m going to play along with him until I’m done with my recovery. “Next time, just pass by and keep me updated” with does last word I had the nurse rolled me away.
Lexy
Babies are turning 8 months in a few days and Lala wants to make a little celebration for them. She wants to prepare their favorite foods with a couple of treats. I agree with it since we are waiting for their response to the letter. We continue to train in every way, but we are also encouraging enjoyment of our lives. Last full moon 2 of my sacred warriors found their mates. One mated with Lala’s favorite helper and the other one which is Kamira, ended up with dad’s right handman Nikolaos.
I knew I would have the best people close to me for life and I knew my kids would be safe too. They are generations of protectors of the royal family. I’ve learned a lot about the people in dad’s pack and how things function. And mom has been more open about her family and cultures. I feel complete even in this situation.
As the day ended we were all sitting around in the living area watching a kid’s movie. The energy is amazing, and I caught myself tearing up. CJ picked up on it and held me closer. “I’m sorry” I whispered in his ear. He put his finger on my lips, shook his head no and then kissed me. “Hey! There’re kids in the room” mom spoke out. Everyone in the room began to laugh at that.
Lala came in with some sweet treats for the adults and some nice healthy snacks for the pups. As the movie was finishing, dad walked in and without him saying a word I knew why he was here. I nodded at him and Lala along with mom took the pups away. “Go ahead dad” I tell him. everyone puts their full attention to dad, and he begins.
“There’s been movement in their camp, and they spotted Cecel being wheeled around. They can tell that they are on edge with how much movement has been going on. We should be hearing soon from them” dad finished speaking. “At this point all we could do is wait. We have trained and prepared for this battle” I spoke to everyone. I wanted to make sure that they stayed in good spirits.
Pokine
Yesterday Cecel surprised me, and I never told him about the envelope they dropped at our doorstep. I must let him know I’m accepting the challenge and by the end of the week we will be in the battlegrounds. I wanted to use him, but he’s not ready for battle. So much time has passed, and I still can’t use him.
I decided to talk to him before dinner. Went into his room and the nurse was taking his dinner tray. “How are you feeling Cecel?” I asked him. “Getting there. What’s going on?” Cecel responded with a gruff tone. “Came to check up on you..”. “Tell me why you are really hear?” Cecel commanded. “W-we go to battle at the end of the week. The respond is on the way to them” I responded. “Perfect” he responded with a grin. He made my hair stand on end.
“W-w-what do you mean?” I stutter my question. “You’ll find out soon enough. For now, I want you to move me closer to your office. I’ll be closer to work on the battle plan” was his response. I didn’t know how to take it and just nodded in agreement. I left the room and got the servants to move his things and the nurses to move him in.

Hearing the news about the battle put my mind in protective mode. Lexy picked up on it when we laid down and she wrapped herself around me. “We will get through this mi amor. Don’t get in your head” she whispered in my ear. She kissed me passionately and I melted away in her arms. She always finds a way to bring me back to her.
I took my time with her and with every touch and kiss I placed on her I kept showing her what she meant to me. I knew she could feel everything I was expressing to her with the way she responded to me.
