Chapter 55- The Growing Magic

Yesterday was a very overwhelming day and full of new information but with more questions. The elders were arriving today but all I kept thinking about was the shock in Helio’s face after looking at the picture. I understood where he was coming from. Now all I want to do is to make myself stronger. I just hope that what the elders tell me will be more helpful than adding more questions to the pile.
It was lunch time when the elders finally arrived. After lunch Helio called us into the conference room. Entering the room at the table stood Helio and the 4 elders that were present. We sat down across from them while they all sat down showing no emotions. It was nerve wrecking, but I didn’t want to show it. “Well child, let me take a look at you” spoke the elder at Helio’s right.
I stood up and approached them. The look on their faces almost had me laughing. Is the expression of the realization that I’m pregnant. “She’s with child?!” the elder to Helio’s left spoke up. Helio laughed and then responded saying, “3 pups on the way”. They all gasped very loudly, and I couldn’t help but chuckle at that. After that the conversations went smoother. They did perform some tests to verify my bloodline, but it all turned out to be that I am Helio’s daughter.
Food plates were brought in after 2 hours since the meeting started, and I was grateful for that. After another hour they finally began to talk about my powers and what was passed down to them. Apparently I might be gaining more powers or the ones I have will expand. They couldn’t cover everything in one meeting, so we will be meeting every day for the next week while doing my training with Helio. As the meeting was closing one of the second elders on the right of Helio spoke up. “Is the moon goddess blessing to send you to us”.
“Excuse me” I said with confusion. Everyone looked at him for an answer. “We haven’t had a queen in decades. And you came with your fated mate and carrying the next generation”. “I’m a qqq-queen?!” I still haven’t processed that. “Enough” Helio spoke out roughly. “Right now, all she needs is help understanding herself, where she comes from and how to use her powers. Anything after that will be at its time” Helio said with authority. They all bowed and answered at the same time “Yes, my king”.
Helio walked up to CJ and I and placed his arm around my shoulder. “Let’s go and have dinner”. I smiled at him and then hugged him. “Thank you” I whispered to him. I noticed CJ smiling at us. We walked out the conference room and went straight to the big dining room. We took our seats while Helio got everyone’s attention. “Good evening everyone. As everyone knows, 4 of our elders are here. Please take care of them like we take care of each other. Enjoy your dinner”. The mood feels better tonight. CJ and Helio are speaking while Derek made friends with the Beta, while Yarielis and Alex have been going through their honeymoon after mating.
I just been eating and observing everything and everyone. I’ve been noticing that after eating my energies are filled up like a battery. I feel more energized and ready to take on the world. I did notice that no matter how much I eat I’m not gaining that much weight. My belly is growing and showing more the more time passes. I can’t wait to see their tiny faces, hands and feet. After filling up from dinner Helio thought it would be a great idea to set up the projector on the back of the packhouse and watch a movie.
Helio
I understand where the elders and the pack are coming from, but they are not thinking about Lexy’s life and everything she’s going through. I understand that I need to prepare her but all I want is to help her and get to know her and everything I missed out on. I already have told them one thing at a time, and they must keep pushing it. If she gets another panic attack because someone can’t keep their mouth shut, they’re going to have to deal with me.
The next day I have my first in command Jarrel bring them to my private training grounds. Today I will show her how to use her powers while doing physical training. I also don’t want her to overexert herself while carrying 3 pups. I can’t believe I have a daughter and soon to be a grandpa of 3. I still don’t understand why Xiomara ran away and why was Cecel in that picture? How is he alive and hasn’t come to me? What happened? Is all I could keep asking myself. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Lexy’s voice.
Lexy
“Good morning dad” I greeted Helio with a smile. “Good morning sweety” he responded with a huge smile. “Are you ready for my training?”. He nodded a yes and clapped his hands together. I took my stance and followed every instruction given to me. Every move I made I felt more powerful and in control. Helio is right, I would feel freer the more I work on my magic. After a couple of hours of training I was able to create fireballs and sense intentions without having to touch the person.
I could see CJ training and glancing my way with a smile. It got me thinking what mama Sheera told me about how the men in the family are with their ladies. Helio had me take several breaks during the training and would have someone bring me food and drinks. I know Helio just wants me to stay strong and to take care of me. I do appreciate everything he’s doing for me.
After spending most of the day training with ended up in the conference room with the elders studying about my ancestors and the prophecy. We went over what I already knew and began to go over what I will be to this kingdom. That made me feel nervous, but I didn’t want to show how much it overwhelmed me. I could tell Helio notice because he changed the subject to how the kingdom came to be. What the role of the Phoenix kingdom plays to the entire world. Hearing what Helio was saying had me in aww. The more he reads from the book the more intrigued I am.
Knowing about how the kingdom came to be and the role it plays gave me a sense of hope. I will do my part to be prepare for what’s coming.
