Chapter 66- Excitement
Lexy
2 days have passed since CJ’s parents arrived and caught them up to everything that happened since we’ve been here. I also noticed that mom’s been acting weird and distant every time I’m with mama Sheera. I chose today to have lunch with everyone. Dad and mom seemed to be getting closer since their talk. Before we even sat down I noticed mom doing it again. I pulled her to the side and asked her straight.
“Mom what’s going on with you? Why do you get distant when mama Sheera is around?”. “I’m sorry Kashi. I guess I’m just jealous of the relationship you have with Mrs. Skylar. I know I have no right to act like that we the way I chose to take our relationship” she responded while looking to the ground. “Mom I love you and yes our relationship has been rocky, but no one can replace you. And I love mama Sheera. She’s been a great person to me and she’s family” I smile at her while reassuring her.
“Now let’s sit down and eat. Once you get to know her you’ll love her”. That seemed to put a smile on her face, and we joined everyone on the table. Lala brought in the food we agreed on and everyone was impressed. I had Lala make everyone’s traditional plates and by the looks on their faces was a success. I thanked Lala and asked her to join us at the table. She tried to reject me, but I made it impossible.
The lunch turned into a great family meal, and I cried a bit. CJ kept a hand either on my back or on the huge baby bump I’m carrying. I was days away from the 5th month mark and I’m so ready to give birth to them. After lunch the men went back to the training ground and left us ladies to entertain ourselves. I took this opportunity to get mom and mama Sheera to get to know each other better.
I was ready for my nap, and everyone could tell. I decided to lay on my favorite sofa in the family room. Hearing my mom laughing was my new favorite thing. I put a movie on and 5 minutes in I fell asleep. I was woken up by CJ placing kisses all over my face. I love these wake-up calls. “Come on muñeca. Dinner is ready” he whispered into my ear. I smiled and stood up with his help.
While enjoying a nice dinner with everyone we began to hear a commotion outside. Before we could even check dad stood up and told everyone “Is that time and this is not a drill. Let’s go. Women and children take the passages. Soldiers assume your positions”. I could feel the panic, but they were controlled. I didn’t like that I couldn’t be with everyone fighting and understood why I needed to hide.
I’m not sure how long had passed but I knew some were injured. I wanted to help so bad. Right as I decided to stop hiding I began to feel horrible pain. Dr. Bennet was with me and came to my aid. Before she had a chance to check me out my water broke. “You’re going into labor Lexy” doc spoke to me. “Not now. People need me and I need to help” I responded. “That’s not going to happen. I’ll report to his majesty while we get you ready to give birth”.
CJ
I was sticking to our plan keeping everyone inside safe. I received a mind-link that scared me to the bone. It was just a scream, but it seems to have gotten to everyone in the pack. Helio approached and said “Lexy’s in labor. She needs you now” Helio hurried me to go. If that was her screaming in the mind-link began to worry me.
I arrived where we set up Lexy’s safe space and what I saw had me rush to her side. She was in such my pain, and I could tell she was heating up. I held on to her hand and wow the strength she had during her squeezing. I took all of it to help her get through it. 30 minutes later she gave birth to our first son. He was a big healthy boy. “Welcome CJ Jr. mami and daddy loves you” Lexy told our baby. We gave him to Lexy’s mom while they got ready for our next baby.
Not even 5 minutes later Lexy was pushing again and boy 2 was here. The lungs on him were amazing. “Hi Elio. Mami and daddy love you” Lexy spoke to our baby. 10 minutes later and our baby girl finally made her appearance. She was a very calm baby. Barely made a noise. “Hello my Alexia Marie. Mami and daddy love you” she said it again. We brought all the babies to Lexy, and she kept kissing them.
Lexy
It was a painful delivery, but all my babies are here, and they are all healthy. I held them and kissed them as much as I could. Our moms and Dr. Bennet went to put down the babies on their basinets. “I love you my babies. I love you CJ. Thank you for always being there and giving me all your love” I began to say to CJ.
“I love you too my fiery Phoenix” he responded. I was feeling so tired and all I wanted to do was go to sleep. Lei was feeling like I was, but her tail wouldn’t stop wagging. It was a cute thing to see because if I had a tail I would be looking like her too. “I’m tired. Can I rest now?” I asked calmly. Dr. Bennet came to check on me and noticed my pulse was low. She removed the blanket, and I was bleeding out.
I felt sleepier as the time passed. I felt a strange feeling of freedom as I heard a clock ticking. I stopped hearing the noises in the room the more time passed.
