Chapter 52- The Past
Helio
I didn’t want to waste more time and began to tell her my story. I want to bond with her, and I hope my story can help us.
“When I turned 18th I decided to travel with the approval of my parents. They thought it would be good to learn from other cultures. I couldn’t leave alone and my best friend Cecel. We were looking forward to our travels. Cecel picked Puerto Rico as our first destination. Per my parents rules I had to study every where we went. While studying we were also having fun. Cecel had a girlfriend from the Bora pack but can’t remember her name”.
Before I continued CJ spoke up, “That was my mom. Her name is Sheera”. That left me stunned. “Yes, Sheera. What a small world” I couldn’t keep the surprise out of my tone. “Your mom showed us the best spots and the best parties. She was a great friend”. They both smiled at me. “She is a great woman” Lexy spoke up smirking.
“After a year in Puerto Rico I wanted to visit Greece and study our heritage. The book you brought has been passed down through the generations. In Greece I learned to read it. After a year in Greece, I decided to vacation in Ireland where I met your mom. Your mom was part of an Irish/gypsy pack. Her free spirit is what attracted me to her. 2 weeks after we met was her birthday and we found out we were fated mates”.
“We spent 3 months together before she disappeared. We mated but never marked each other by her choice. She never told me why she didn’t want to mate. In the time we were together, I did tell her a bit of my history which is what you have told me that you know. When she left she took that book among other things. I didn’t understand why she did that back then but now I understand why. I think she knew you would come looking for me”. I kept looking at her face, not sure of what she was thinking or feeling.
Lexy spoke up and told me what CJ’s great-grandma told her of the prophecy. I was impressed with all the information they had already gathered. I guess I was showing it on my face because Lexy smiled proudly. Now I must give her the pieces she is missing.
“Good job in your research. But now I’ll tell you what you’re missing. You are a descendant of The Great Ancient Phoenix. The women are the rulers of our pack. The men can control fire but will never transform. When we don’t have females the males lead until a female is born. I became king of our pack 2 years after your mom disappeared. Our pack got attacked and my parents fought and lost their lives but won the battle”. I took a moment to take a breather before continuing. “We can take a break if you need time” stated Lexy. “Is ok. I just don’t talk about them much since it happened” I responded. I took a deep breath and chose to continue telling her.
“You will go through a transformation but I’m not sure how that works or what the transformation is. There hasn’t been a female born in a couple of decades that I’m aware. We the males are protectors, but I will help you with controlling your power and keep you and the pups safe. This is your home and your kingdom my child” I bowed my head at her. I heard her gasp at my gesture. “Please don’t do that” she said frantically”. I lifted my head and smiled at her. “Is that the reason everyone was in shock yesterday?” she asked me. “Yes. The history is taught in our schools. The elders will be here tomorrow to help you” I responded. “If you have any questions, please feel free to ask”.
Lexy
I have been in shock with every word that has left Helio’s mouth. But when he bowed to me, I freaked out. When he finished talking I thought of questions I could ask. “You said ‘males control fire’. What do you mean?”. Right when I finished asking him the question, he smirked at me and then there it was. He made fire appear from his hand and it was a fire ball floating from the palm of his hand. Right then my eyes began to glow along with the fire. I knew because looking at CJ, his face always gives it away. But my father’s face was a big tell. “Wow. You’re impressive my child” he spoke with pride.
“More awaits us father. We’ll need to prepare for what’s coming. We will get mom back” I tell him. He kneeled and bowed again. “Please don’t do that. Is so weird dad” I said subconsciously but the emotion on his face said it all as he stood up holding to my hands. “First thing, can we eat? I’m starving”. Everyone laughed at that. “The more they grow, the more they eat” CJ spoke up while rubbing my belly. “Yes, yes. Let’s go down and have lunch. You can tell me how life has been with your mom and about your mate and his family” Helio perked up.
This time he brought us into a smaller dining room. It was more private and comfortable. Lunch was brought and I couldn’t help but salivate. It was a chicken bacon ranch sandwiches with French fries and strawberry smoothies. One of my favorite meals. I began to while CJ and Helio spoke. I ate 3 sandwiches and drank 2 smoothies. CJ gave me my prenatal with a glass of water. I noticed Helio looking at our interaction. “What’s with that look?” I asked him
“I now understand why I met Sheera when I did. You 2 will be great” he spoke with pride and a strong aura. I couldn’t help but blush and smile at him. as they brought out cookies Helio asked me about my mom, and I put my cookie down. He could tell that something wasn’t right and didn’t know what to do. “Is complicated” is all I said.
