Chapter 12: Mystery Heat

“Wow, this place is amazing” is all I could get out. When I looked at him, he had a huge cheesy smile. He looked too adorable. Our eyes locked and my breathing hitched. I felt like I was going to burst into flames. ‘Stop drooling’ Leilas voice brought me back. “How did you find this place?” “I’ve always liked to go on runs and when I was 13 I stumbled to it. Nobody else comes here. I made sure. And it seems like no one knows it exists” he responded very smoothly. “But you brought me here? Why?” I couldn’t help but wonder. He smirked as he approached me and said “Because you’re my mate. I figured we could use a quiet place. And what’s mine is yours.” He pulled me close, lifted my chin and kissed me.
It was sweet and passionate. I couldn’t get enough of him and responded by wrapping my arms around his neck. Leila was howling like a pup. In the middle of this amazing kiss, I start to feel super-hot. That’s when I heard “ouch” and he stepped away to look at me. “Are you ok? You’re burning hot Lexy.” My breathing starts getting harder. I can’t catch my breath and I can’t respond to him. I’m looking around and I see the lake. I didn’t thing it twice and run towards the lake and jumped in. I just wanted the lake to swallow me whole and get rid of the burning sensation.

We were having a wonderful kiss when I felt my lip burn. “ouch” is all that came out of my mouth. One moment I’m trying to find out if she’s ok and the next she jumps in the lake. I’m trying to figure out what to do when I noticed she hadn’t popped her head from under the water. I decided to go in after her. When I got to her underwater, her eyes were closed, and her body was still hot but cooling down. The water around her was warm compared to the rest of the lake. I brought her head up for air and when she opened her eyes they were glowing orange. Like fiery orange. I tried to talk to her, but it was like she wasn’t there. Next thing I know she wraps her body around mines, and she wraps her lips on mine. My body responded to her. Good thing we weren’t too deep, and I was standing with the water reaching up to my shoulders. But all I could think at this moment was how sweet she tasted. I don’t know for how long we madeout, but it felt like an eternity that I didn’t want to end. But I was worried for her and wanted to make sure she was good.
I separated from the kiss and looked her straight in the eyes. Her eyes were back to her beautiful green eyes. “How are you feeling?” “I…umm.. I’m ok. I think” she responded shyly. I noticed during our makeout session in the water, her temperature when back to normal. “How long has it been happening?” I asked her. “Since my birthday. Since right before I got my wolf” she was looking down while responding. I grabbed her by the chin and lifted her head to look at me. “I want to make sure you’re safe my Pheonix.” “Pheonix?” she tilted her look at me. “Yeah. You get fiery like a Pheonix” I say with a smirk and then gave her a peck. She looked shocked for a moment and then smirked back. Before I could respond she pulled me in and kissed me deeply and then let me go. She started to walk out of the lake, but I pulled her back to me and kissed her again. After a while I let her go and just hold her in place. She finally came to her senses. She started to walk out the lake and I followed her.
We talked for a bit while waiting to dry up. After an hour, we began walking back to the truck. We were still wet when we got in the truck, but I didn’t care. It was worth it. We drive to my house so I can give her some dry clothes. I don’t want the family to make I big deal, so I sneaked her in through the back and headed upstairs to my room. I got her one of my T-shirts and a pair of sweatpants. I turned around for her to change and that’s when I realized my full body mirror was showing me her changing. I saw her taking her bra off from behind and I grabbed the first thing I found to cover the mirror. I heard her giggle and then said, “Thank you for that.” And she kissed the back of my neck. I heard her step back. I minute later she was done. I grabbed some clothes for myself. I took off my shirt in front of her and she gasped and then turned around. I chuckled at her reaction.

He just took his shirt off. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard something fall. When I looked at the floor I saw what he had put over the mirror, was on the floor. I looked at the mirror and saw his wide back and he was in his boxer briefs. I couldn’t help but ogle. What’s wrong with me?! I looked at the floor before I got caught. As I looked down he approached me, which made me jump a little as I turned around. “You’re red again. Are you okay?” he asked concerned. I turned to look at the mirror and indeed I was red, but I wasn’t feeling hot. He touched my forehead and said “You’re a bit warm. Let me get you some ice.” He put his basketball shorts on quickly. He then left and I just looked around his room. He had a wall with trophies and certificates where his desk is at. He had a pretty big bed. Looked like a queen bed. I couldn’t help myself and laid on it. It was so comfortable and smelled just like him. I felt safe and it felt like home. Next thing I knew I dosed off in a matter of seconds.
