Chapter 30- The Incident

This past week and a half have been frustrating. I have had no shot at getting at her. The full moon is closing in and I need to get her to the pack by then. I will be a Deadman if I don’t complete this mission. I don’t understand why Alpha Ponike wants her this bad. I have no choice but to follow orders. I haven’t found a way to get her back. She hasn’t been to school and whenever she leaves that house is always accompanied by that mut wanna be beta. They went to the bank today and thought I would have my chance, but he was attached to her to the hip. And all they did was go to the bank and go back into the betas house.
I was losing my patience trying to find an opening to get to her. She never came out of the house alone. I was running out of time, but I didn’t want to make it obvious and get caught.
CJ
We went for a walk between my parents’ house and the packhouse. I kept feeling like we were being watched. I didn’t want to worry Lexy so I mind-linked my parents letting them know. Lexy had mentioned an unscented spray. I had a feeling the guy was close by waiting for an opportunity to take her again. I wasn’t going to let that happen. “Helloo!! Are you listening to me?” Lexy said loudly to me. That took me out of my head. “What’s going on with you?” she asked me with a stern look. “I’m sorry” I responded while passing my hand through the back of my head. “I know something is going on. Xazul told Leila”. She left me dumbfounded with that statement. “You do know they talk to each other. We are mated” she stated to me.
I didn’t think about that. Every time I speak to Xazul, we talk about her and keeping her safe. ‘Get out of your head and talk to me’ she said in a mind-link. I bet my face right now looks like a fish out of water because she was laughing hard. “How did you do that?” I asked her in a huge surprise. I was surprised that I even asked anything. I’m speechless with how impressive she is. “I’m not sure yet. Leila said we are powerful and need to start training”. “She also said my father is a big part of who we are” she said while looking to the ground. I grabbed her chin gently and lifted her face to look at me. I looked her straight into her beautiful green eyes and kissed her. Then told her “You are amazing. Never look down, always look up”. Her cheeks turned pink, and she smiled. I pecked her again and told her I’ll tell her everything when they got back to the room.
Lexy
A lot has happened, and we are just days aways from the ceremony. Alpha Trevor set his best tech guy to translate the book for me. Along with a professor of Greek mythology. While all that is happening, I’ve been talking more with Lei. Is what I call her and she likes the nickname. She’s also smitten with Xazul and his praise for her. He calls her his Fiery Queen. Xazul and CJ are so alike, is so cute. As Lei remembers things, she’s been telling me, and I’ve been writing it all down in a notebook. CJ has been helping me a lot. My heating has seemed to cease up. Has been almost a week since the last time. CJ just wants me to concentrate on the ceremony and then will get back to the research about my father. With Lei’s information I have been calmer and listening to CJ. He wants me to meet with my friends to shop for a dress and all the things that go with it. Of course, he’s going to be there to make sure that guy has no chance to get to me. Since I let him know about Lei saying we need to train he has focused on building a training routine for after the ceremony. I’m looking forward to it. I don’t like feeling helpless and CJ can’t always be there for me.
The ladies showed up at the house and I was so happy to see them. We hugged and began to talk about the dress when they went quiet. “OMG!! You’re mated. Why didn’t you tell us?” asked Rubi spoke up. “I thought you guys knew already?” I responded. “No. We thought you guys were dating not fated mates” spoke Eva with a shocked tone. “Oops” is all that came out of my mouth. I haven’t spoken to them much lately with everything and that thought made me feel bad. “Don’t worry girl. You’re going to catch us up while we shop” Rubi said reassuringly. “You girls ready to go?” asked CJ from behind us while jiggling his keys. We all nodded yes and got in his truck. We began talking about all the time we haven’t seen each other and what has happened to all of us. When I spoke about myself the girls got quiet and at the same time we arrive at the mall. They rush out of the truck and as I get off the bombard me with hugs. I saw CJ looking at me with a smile. I teared up a bit.
We hit a couple of stores while CJ followed closed by but giving us girl space to enjoy ourselves. ‘Thank you chulo’ I mind-linked him. ‘Love you muñeca’ he responded while cheesing at me. After 2 hours of walking through different stores we headed to the food court to eat and take a break. When we were halfway through eating I excused myself to go to the bathroom. Which the bathroom was at view from where we were sitting at. While I was in the bathroom Lei’s hair were standing on end and so were mines. Before I could react there was a lot of smoke coming in the bathroom. I got up from the toilet and when I opened the stall door there was fire in the bathroom. I couldn’t get out.
The fire got closer to me, but it didn’t feel hot. ‘Walk through it’ Lei spoke to me. I did as she said. I walked through the fire out of the bathroom and when I got out CJ was there worried and angry and then shocked when he saw me.
