Chapter 53- New Details

Lexy
After lunch he takes us for a walk around the pack. The whole time I’m thinking on how I didn’t know how to talk about my mom and the best way to describe it is complicated. I sighed and I noticed Helio was going to speak, so I stopped him. “Is ok. There’s a lot to unpack about my relationship with her and I. I love her but she hasn’t always made the best decisions” I begin to tell him.
He sits us on a bench and gets awkward. I could tell he wanted to comfort me but didn’t know how to and at that I smiled at him. I took the first step and wrapped myself around him. Helio got stiff at first but then placed his hand on my back and his whole body relaxed. He felt like home too but different from what I feel with CJ. After we let go of each other I looked at him smile and then sighed and began to tell him.
“Since I can remember we have never lived in a place for more than a year. We have lived all over the country. She had really bad taste in man. Every time things went bad with a guy; we would pick up and move. A couple of her relationships got violent, but I couldn't do anything when I was younger. Once I turned 13th years old I stopped paying attention to what she was doing. I didn’t make many friends since I knew we would move again”. I took a breather and then continued telling him about our life.

“Mom and I weren’t close like I hoped we would be. But when she got me a phone on my 13th birthday I used it to call the cops on the guy she was with. He was hitting her and was the only thing I could do. After that when she got into it with one of the guys she was with at the moment I would go out the window and come back a couple of hours later or the next morning. She didn’t even notice since her whole focus was the guy. But we did have good moments when she was single. I went sightseeing every time we moved, and she would take me to do something fun in the state we landed when we would first get there. In Stoner Valley Pack I thought things were changing and then all of this happened, but it seemed like she knew it was coming”.
I could see tears coming out of Helio’s eyes. It looked like he couldn’t believe everything that happened with my mom and myself. He kept opening his mouth and then closing it. I don’t know what came over me but then a question coursed through my mind. “I need to ask you something?” I say to Helio while looking at him in the eyes. He wiped away the tears and said, “Go ahead”. “You said you didn’t know about me, but I have a picture of a man holding me with mom and in the back of the picture is your name. How didn’t you know about me?”. “What picture?” he asked confused.
I stood up and began to walk fast to the room we were staying in. I could feel them following me close behind, but I was focused on getting my answers. I got to the room and empty my bag out. I moved things out the way until I found it. I gave it to him and the shock on his face was undeniable. “WHAT IS IT?” I asked frantically. “Th-that’s C-Cecel..” he stammered out. I gasped in shock while CJ held me.

Helio
I can’t believe my eyes and what I’m looking at. This really can’t be. How is this possible? I was brought out of my thoughts when Lexy placed her hands on my shoulders. “Please tell me what’s going on?” she spoke calmly. “I’m sorry sweety. I just can’t believe what I’m looking at. It’s Cecel holding you” I tell her. “But that’s not possible. 6 months after Xiomara disappeared Cecel died”. Her expression matched my disbelief.
“Your best friend Cecel?” she asks me. I nod my head at her in response. CJ led us to the seats in the room and we were both in shock. If he’s dead how was he holding my daughter after being born. Does he have something to do with Xiomara’s disappearance? So many questions and very little answers.

Lexy
“Why is your best friend holding me? And how is he holding me if he’s supposed to be dead?” I asked Helio. “I don’t know. But now I’m wondering if he has something to do with your mom’s kidnapping” he responded. I put my hands on his forearms. I needed to make sure for my sanity that he was being honest. CJ noticed what I was doing, and he gave me a small nod approving my decision.
I know Helio noticed my eyes and smiled at me. He smiled with pride. That threw me off until I noticed he was being honest. “Very smart using your powers to protect yourself” Helio spoke out. “I’m sorry. Just needed to make sure. So much information and questions. I just need assurance” I lower my head while speaking. He grabs my chin and lifts my head. “You’re stronger than you think. With your mate and my help, you will be more powerful”. That got me crying and smiling.

He held me to his chest and kissed the top of my head. “We got this. Ok?” he whispered to me. I nodded my head while he held me. I didn’t notice when CJ left the room, and I became frantic. Helio noticed and began talking to me about some of the powers that he knew I was going to have or already had. “I noticed you know how to use your truth power, but you can use it without the eyes glowing”.
I know my face was lighting up at his words. “When you use your power, what is going on in your head?” he asked me. “Is more of my feelings. When I use it all I think, and feel is my focus to get answers” I tell him. “You’re letting your emotions control it. I’m going to teach you to let your mind take control”. “Your powers are attached to your emotions and your mind” he continued to tell me. I hugged him again and held him tight. If I could control my powers, I can use them to help find mom and whatever fight will be coming our way.

CJ
I stepped out of the room to give them some alone time. So much information has been given and little time to process it. I wanted to give them enough time before returning. I took a walk around the packhouse and saw the guys returning from their tour. We went inside and sat down in the entertainment room. They began to talk about everything they saw and learned about. “One question, do you know that Lexy is royalty??” Yarielis asked curiously and with a big smile.
I smiled back and nodded as a respond. “I left her with Helio after some revelations. They need time”. “We will catch you guys up later about everything else. I’ve been away long enough from Lexy and our pups. I’ll see you guys later” I say to them while getting up and began to walk away.
