Chapter 50- The Deep Forest

It has been a couple of days, and we are getting ready to travel. After finding the location and speaking to Alpha Trevor, we set a plan and who would be accompanying CJ and I to the Deep Forest. CJ didn’t want me to go because he’s worried about me and the pups and thinks it might be too dangerous. But he has no choice but to accept that he can’t stop me. We got our things done and left our clothes out for the next morning. We had to be up at 4 in the morning to leave by 5. It was going to be a couple of hours drive.
The next morning, we got up and ready. Mama Sheera prepared us food for the road and packed me a lunch bag for once we were there. She gave us kisses and hugged us tights. Alex, Yarielis, and a lead warrior named Deker. After 5 hours on the road, we stopped for a bathroom break and so I can move around. I was getting bigger, and I couldn’t deny it. Yarielis along with CJ would help me out and made sure I stayed comfortable. We get back on the truck and keep going to our destination.
4 hours more and we finally reach Deep Forest. We park the truck and bring with us that we can carry. We first hiked through the marked path until I began to pick up an energy leading me into the unmarked path. I knew my eyes were glowing because CJ wouldn’t let go of my hand and I was glad. There was so much energy coursing through my body that I was feeling overwhelmed but the gesture of CJ holding my hand was keeping me focused. We stopped walking when we reached a waterfall whole. It was beautiful and fantastic. I couldn't hold any more and dropped everything on the ground and tears dropped down my cheeks.

Lexy began to cry and then her body was covered in flames. I told everyone to stay back, and I dropped the bags I was carrying and held her. Just like last time our clothes burned but not the area we were stepping on. I just held her and let her let it out. Once she calmed down and the flames subsided, I took her into the waters. As we began to come out of the water I noticed we were surrounded. Lexy had fell asleep after what just happened. The people threw some blankets at us, and I covered her first and then myself. I kept her in my arms the whole time while we were taking somewhere deeper in the forest.
After an hour we reached a huge pack and is only what I could see. They took us to a huge building that I guessed was the packhouse. They build it along with the trees. They took us into a big room and made us sit. Yarielis handed me our bag and I put a midthigh sundress on Lexy and then got myself dressed. After 20 minutes someone opened the door and the aura he gave off had me sitting straight. It was worse than Alpha Trevor. “Who are you and why are you in my lands?” he spoke with authority. I stood up and addressed him by first showing respect and bowing.
“My apologies. My name is CJ Skylar from Stone Valley Pack. Didn’t mean to enter your land. We are in search of my mate’s family and family background” I spoke respectfully. “Who’s..” before he could finish his sentence he noticed Lexy. “Who is she?” he asked me. “My mate” I responded. Before we said anything else, Lexy woke up.

After we got to the waterfall I fell asleep. When I awoke I didn’t recognize my surroundings. There was a scent in the air that felt familiar. When I looked up, I saw CJ and I man I didn’t recognize at first. CJ came to my side and helped me sit up and then stand up. When I looked at the man’s face something about it looked familiar but in an older face. I approached him and passed my hand over his face, and he flinched at first. He then allowed me to and without knowing the words came out, “Papa”. Everyone gasped in the room.
“What are you talking about child?” he asked with a serious tone. CJ looked at me and mouthed ‘eyes glowing’. I looked at the man again and he gasped at my eyes and then cried. He then did something I didn’t expect again and bowed at me. all his man that was in the room bowed behind him. He stood up and held me by my shoulders. “Welcome home child” he said with pride. “I’m King Helio Athanas. Could you tell me your story child?” he asked me. His people brought us food and drinks and I showed him what I had found in the deposit box and what mom left me. By the end of my story, he was in shock, but when I mentioned my mom’s name it all seemed to connect for him. Everyone just kept looking at our interaction, but I couldn’t stop staring at Helio. I realized I got my eyes and skin color from him, but my hair is definitely my mothers. The more I looked the more I noticed the similarities between us.
“Why weren’t you in my life? Why did you leave mom?” I couldn’t help but ask him. His reaction was weird at first. He opened his mouth to say something and then nothing came out. I was going to say something when he let out a huge sigh. “I know this will be hard to hear and believe, but I honestly didn’t know about you. Your mother disappeared a month after we started dating” Helio said dejected. “I tried to find her the first 2 months, but she disappeared without a trace”.When he finished saying that I was left dumbfounded that I couldn’t even respond.
