Chapter 99- Connections
Narrator
As the days kept passing by, the smile on his face grew. It was dark and grimacing. His own man feared him and couldn’t look him in the face. They feared him more when he smiled the way he had been smiling. He gathered his soldiers and began his speech.
“In 2 weeks, we will launch our attack. We will be victorious and gain the power that belongs to me”, he spoke loudly and arrogantly. “Yes master”, they responded in unison. Their voices echoed in the room, leaving an eerie feeling in the air.
Lexy
“We are missing a piece of this puzzle”, I was speaking to a full room. As we were going over everything we had gathered when Riz walked in. “Sorry for the intrusion, my queen” she spoke up. “Is fine. Is there something happening?” I responded. “I might have information about this dark cloud hovering over us” said Riz.
That caught everyone’s interest. “The time I spent with Cecel he would seem to be talking to himself at time, but I could feel a darker presence in the room. I couldn’t help spying, but I didn’t want to get any closer. Even my wolf was on full warning mode the couple of times I eavesdropped”, Riz finished retelling. Her whole-body shivered at the end of her reporting.
“Thank you Riz. Please take a seat and join us with strategies. This new information might be able to take us one step closer. Riz, today you will take point in the conversation. I need you to go over every detail you can remember from those encounters”, I spoke out.
After I couple of hours of Riz going over details she could remember and strategizing, while we still couldn’t figure out who it could be, so I called it a day. “Eat, spend time with your families and rest. We will pick up where we left off tomorrow”. After everyone left the room, I sat back down and released a huge sigh.
“Come on muñeca. Let’s go eat and spend time with the pups. I will not take anything other than you getting up and walking with me or, me carrying you”, CJ said with a firm tone. I couldn’t help but smile and took hold of his hand. We made it back to our suite and the sight I saw sent me into a huge laughter.
Everyone was chasing the pups around the room and all their toys were scattered around. My laughter caught the kid’s attention, and they ran towards us. “Mami, papi” they said loudly and excited. I couldn’t help but smile at them and prepare myself for the embrace. Surprisingly, they were gentle once they got to me. Jr ran right to CJ, and you could hear the air almost knocked out of him. That made me chuckle.
“Hey kiddos. Did you behave with your grandmas?” I asked with a raised eyebrow. They all stiffened and looked around and lifted their heads with a big smile. “Time to clean up so we can eat”, CJ said with a serious tone. They all ran and began to clean quickly. That made everyone in the room laugh.
As we were eating, I noticed the food tasted different and Lala was nowhere around. After we finished eating, I decided to head to her room. I knocked, but there was no response. I knocked a couple of more times and still no answer. I was worried and opened her room door. She was on the floor unconscious. ‘Dr. Bennett, please come to Lalas' room. She needs medical help’ I mind-linked her.
‘Mi amor. Please help. Lala is not well’ I let him know through a mind-link. As I was waiting for them to show up, I kept trying to wake her. ‘Place your hands over her’ Lei spoke up. I did as she said and let my powers do the work. After a minute, Lala began to move. After another minute, she finally opened her eyes. I was crying from fear of losing her and then began to cry with happiness.
As she was blinking and getting her bearings, she placed her hand on my cheek. At that moment, Dr. Bennett and CJ walked into the room. Dr. Bennett took over and began to check on her. As I was stepping back I felt weak and began to lose my balance. CJ caught me and held me tight. The last thing I heard was CJ calling for Dr. Bennett.
CJ
I’m not sure what happened to Lexy, but she fainted right in my arms. Doc took care of her, and we took her to our room to rest. Doc let me know she was exhausted. She always knows how to worry me. Knowing she has our pup growing inside her makes me worry more.
As I was lost in my thoughts, our pups came into the room. “Is mami ok?” Alexia asked, trying to hold off her tears. I held them tight and kissed their gorgeous faces. “Mami is sleeping. She just needs to rest”, I told them gently. They all get me to put them on the bed with their mom.
The boys lay on each side of her and Alexia laid on top of her. As I observed them, I noticed them falling asleep with a smile. After a moment, they all began to glow. It doesn’t matter how many times they do things like this, it always amazes me. After a minute of the glow, it finally stopped. They were all sleeping with smiles on their faces.
Cecel
It is time to put the plan in motion and risk what I can’t control. Savyn wasn’t happy but understood why I had to do it. I kissed her and kissed her baby bump. “I love you both and will be back for you”, I told them. I turned around and walked out of the room. I met with my men outside and began to get things ready to leave. I know it won't be easy, but it is the only way I know to come out of this situation alive.
