Chapter 20- Revelation

Sheera and I finished cooking dinner and she called everyone to the table. Sheera had me sit down next to her and CJ followed next to me. We cooked a couple of lasagna with white rice, homemade garlic breads and coquito (Puerto Rican drink). We also made dessert. After everyone served themselves, Mr. Skylar began the conversation. “So, Lexy. What would you like to ask us?” I put my fork down and began. “By any chance, do you know the name Helio Athanas?” The expression on Sheeras’ face threw me off. “Why do you ask?” She seemed nervous with her answer. “I found out he’s my father” I responded.

“Chulala are you okay?” asked Mr. Skylar with concern towards Sheera. “I’m good. I just haven’t heard that name in over 18yrs” she expressed to me. “How about we eat first since we slaved all day in the kitchen. And when we finish eating will continue the conversation” she said calmly. When everyone went back to eating Sheera whispered in my ear “I want you to eat before the motions won’t let you”. She was worried about me. I gave her the okay by graving my fork and began to eat. I got to meet CJ’s best friends and they are funny and rowdy. But really good guys. When we finished dinner and ate dessert the conversation continued.
Sheera began by saying “Please give us all the details and then I’ll answer the best I can”. I nodded to her. “The envelope my mom left contained 2 pictures, some bank information, and my birth certificate with some other things. In the picture is me and I man I don’t know. And my birth certificate that I had never seen had his full name, and apparently my real full name. Besides that, I haven’t found anything else significant yet. We still have the bag with the things I found in my mom’s room”.

It took a minute for anyone to say anything with all the information I just provided. I was about to start talking when Sheera beat me to it. “Well, by now you know that I recognized the name. Before I met my mate Angel, I was dating Helio’s best friend Cecel. This was all back in Puerto Rico. I was in my last 2 years of high school. I knew that Cecel and Helio were from another country but never asked exactly from where. I knew that before Puerto Rico they came from a pack in Miami. We used to go out and have a lot of fun. Right before my 19th birthday, Cecel and I decided to break off since we weren’t mates, and they were getting ready to move from the island. And that’s the last I saw or heard from them. I had no idea he had a daughter.” She finished with curiosity. I was left speechless for a moment. Actually, everyone was speechless at what she said.
CJ
I was surprised by my mom’s story. “Mami you’re going to lose your mind at this. We share birthdays” I say smirking. “Que tu dijistes? (What did you say?)” she asked with the expression on her face I thought she would have. I just nodded. Everyone’s mouths were all open. I chuckled at that. “On the year of the solar, mates will find each other sharing a birthday. Great things will come of their union. It is something my Abuelita used to tell me. Can’t remember the whole thing” mom told is with nostalgia. “What does that mean mom?” I asked with curiosity. She left everyone reeling with that statement. “I’ll contact my family tomorrow morning. See what I come up with” mom stated.

“Okay enough of that. How about we watch a movie?” My dad chooses to speak up. We all agreed and chose a comedy movie to finish the night. My friends fell asleep all over the family room and I carried Lexy to our room. She fell asleep on me during the second movie. I bet that was a lot for her to take in. Especially being one thing after another in the past 4 days. I lay her down and take off her clothes to make her comfortable in bed. She got comfortable, so I didn’t want to move her to put a shirt on her. I took of my shirt and went to bed with my basketball shorts. The moment I lay next to her, she clung to me. She wrapped herself around me and snuggled in my chest. Didn’t peg her for to be so attached. ‘I love it’ Xazul said quickly. I chuckled and responded, ‘Completely agree with you’. ‘We could stay with her like this forever’ Xazul exclaimed. Didn’t have to even respond. He knew I agreed with him whole heartly. I kissed the top of her head, laid back and fell asleep.

The next day I thought it would be perfect for our wolves to meet. Xazul has been hounding me since we mated. “How about today we go in the woods close by and let our wolves meet?” I asked cautiously. “That sounds awesome. Leila has been howling to meet him since what happened the other day” she responded looking down. “Don’t be shy about it, mate. Say it” I was winding her up. “Come on my Phoenix, say it”. “OK, ok mate” she finally spoke up but surprised me with a kiss. “Now shut up. Leila wants to finish connecting with Xazul and they need to stretch their legs”. I chuckled at her and began to get ready for our run. But first thing, breakfast time. We sat to eat with everyone. That included my bros that I had forgotten were still here. I couldn’t help but laugh sheepishly. We joked around a bit, and they kept telling Lexy stories about my childhood. Not cool at all. After breakfast my mom let us know that she would begin to make calls and let us know by the end of the day what she found. Her grandma is still alive and solid. Mom says even the Alpha doesn’t get on her bad side. The power of the chancleta. But she is loved by everyone.

“What are you kids getting up to today?” mom asked before we headed out the door. We’re going to let our wolves have a day. And don’t worry we will be close by. Lexy also needs some fresh air and a drama free day". "Asi es mijo. Cuidala mucho (That's it my son. Take care of her)"mom said very lovely. I could see that she was happy with the moon goddess choice for my mate. And I honestly couldn't ask for a better one. She gave her blessings to us and sent us off to a relaxing day. “You do know that your mom is an amazing, kind and strong woman” Lexy said out of the blue. “She’s my world. Like you’re my world” I responded. Then realize the sadness behind that statement. She was missing her mom. I held her for a moment and felt her snuggle into me. She held me tight, then looked at me and kissed me. When she released me, she said “Thank you mate”. My heart jumped at her words. I kissed her a light kiss and walked with her into the woods.
