“You heard me she was in an accident with her driver.” “What happened, do I need to come down?” “No, it’s not necessary I’m here. Some lunatic drove them of the road, the car rolled. She has a severe concussion, she’s in a induce coma, she has a broken arm and a lot of cuts on her head.” “Why didn’t she have her seatbelt on? And where the fuck where you?” “I’m not sure why she didn’t have her seatbelt on and for me I was at home she wanted to get something at her apartment.” I couldn’t tell him she was probable lying flat on the back seat dodging bullets. And I was in the dessert taking care of the other men that was following us. “I’ll ask her when she wakes up.” “At what hospital are you I’m coming.” “No Brad there is nothing to do here you will only mess with your blood pressure. Like I said she’s in an induce coma I’ll let you know when they wake her up.” “You better keep me updated Romeo.” “I will.” “But I need to go.” I told him. “Before you go Romeo, this doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that you called me about someone following you, will it?” “No off course not.” “Don’t you fucken lie to me Romeo.” “I’m not. At 1 am, Lucas came back with two overnight bags one for me and one for Jennifer. “Thank you, Lucas, you go home and rest.” “No boss they still want you or Jennifer dead I’m staying right here.” “They won’t try anything in the hospital Lucas.” “Rather safe than sorry boss.” I noticed he changed as well so there will be no way I’ll be able to change his mind. “Thank you, Lucas.” “Rather me than Elijah boss I needed to beg him to stay in bed.” “You make sure he stays there.” “I will.” Lucas got a chair from somewhere and sat in front of Jennifer’s door. The hospital staff will definitely talk but I really don’t care Jennifer and her safety is the only thing I care about right now. I quickly took a shower and got dressed in some fresh cloths, I even felt better after that. When I got back in the room a recliner and a blanket was put besides Jennifer’s bed clearly Lucas had something to do with this because if it was up to the nurses I wouldn’t be here. I kissed Jennifer on the fore head then made myself comfortable in the chair, I had no idea if I would even be able to sleep after the events of the day but I must have been exhausted because I fell asleep almost immediately. It wasn’t a peaceful sleep as the nurses was in and out of the room the whole night checking Jennifer’s blood pressure, oxygen levels, fever and giving her antibiotics. I didn’t mind this at all as long as they look after Jenn, I will even stay awake the whole night making sure they do their jobs.
When I woke up the next morning Elijah was sitting next to Jennifer’s bed on the other side holding her hand. “I’m so sorry Jennifer, I promised you you’ll be okay.” He said to her unconscious body. “Elijah” He let go of her hand and looked at me in shock like I caught him stealing cookies out of a cookie jar. “Sorry boss.” “There is nothing to be sorry about Elijah you made sure she didn’t get shot, I’m at fault here I thought they where after me I never thought they will go after Jennifer I should have send more men with you. You and Levi wouldn’t have been able to handle them apparently, they were the real assassins not the 2 they send after me that shit in their pants as soon as we caught them.” “We all thought they were after you boss.” “I should have known Elijah this whole thing is on me not you.” “Thank you, boss. Is Levi, okay?” “Yes, his fine.” “Well at least that is a silver lining and the men that was after us?” “They’ve been taken care of.” “And do we know who they worked for?” “Sebastian that fucker and we can’t go after him because of the DEA but we will find a way Elijah he will die sooner or later.” Elijah and I were interrupted by the doctor that came in. “Shouldn’t you be in your own room Sir?” The doctor asked Elijah. “I’m on my way Doc.” “You need to rest Elijah.” “I know doc I’m going.”
When Elijah was out of the room the doctor looked at Jennifer’s stats, “Everything looks good I’ll wake her now?” “You sure doc isn’t it to soon.” “No, she had a good night all her vitals look good. It’s safe Mr. Biachi don’t worry she’ll be okay.” “What are you going to do?” “I’m going to gradually reduce the medication and she will slowly start to respond to demands then I’ll take out the ventilator that helped her to breath.” “Thank you for explaining doc.” “No problem.” The doctor started to reduce the medication; I had Jennifer’s hand in mine. After a while I felt her fingers move. “Doctor” I showed him. “Jennifer, can you open your eyes for us please?” The doctor asked. She slowly opened her eyes and then she started to panic because of the thing in her throat. “Calm down Jennifer let’s take this thing out. When I say now then you give me a big cough.” She was looking at me then at the doctor. The doctor started to pulled the ventilator out of her mouth, “Now” he said, she gave a big cough and then the ventilator was out. The doctor took a glass with a straw in and gave her some water. She took a sip then looked at me and said “Elijah”
