I woke up later that afternoon, I felt like myself again, I’m sure my blood pressure was under control after that nap, or should I say I hope so. I took my phone and called Eva, I just wanted her to know everything was okay and maybe she knew an OBGYN. Her phone rang a few times before she answered. “Jenn are you okay?” She asked as a manner of answering. “I’m okay, now yes.” “What did the doctor want? I hope everything is okay with the baby?” “Yes, you wouldn’t believe it Eva, she called me in because I have an Iron deviancy and she wanted to tell me the risk of it, she could have told me that over the phone, I was so scared, I even went into shock.” “Jeez Jenn I’m so sorry, and now how are you feeling now?” “I slept for a while so I’m better but I blew up I was so rude to the doctor, I’m not sure I want to go back to her.” “Because you gave her a piece of your mind? Because clearly, she deserved it.” “No, I think she deserved that, I think I need someone else that won’t call me in for something they could have told me over the phone.” “I totally get it. Let me ask around and I’ll let you know.” “Thank you, Eva, I really appreciate it.” “It’s my pleasure Jenn, the other thing I wanted to tell you after we left chef he started on the cupcake and wine pairing, he is done with it, Jenn so if you can bring one of each cupcake in a day or two, he will finalize it. He was so excited to do something new.” “That’s awesome news I’ll give my manager a call and ask her to have the cupcakes ready for tomorrow then I’ll bring it over and we can have our lunch.” “Sounds like a great plan Jenn, see you tomorrow.” “Tomorrow Eva.”
When I was done with Eva I called Eleanor, “Hi Jenn how are you?” I wasn’t going to tell her the story as well so I just went with “I’m good thank you Eleanor and you?” “No complaints. How can I help you.” “Well, I spoke to one of Romeo’s chefs for the cupcake and wine pairing, he wants to know if we can have the cupcakes ready tomorrow then he can finalize the type of wines.” “Yes, off course what do you need?” “Well make 6 off each, Pomegranate, Pumpkin, Makataan, red velvet, carrot and the rich chocolate cupcakes.” “No problem I’ll have them ready say at 11 am tomorrow.” “Thank you, Eleanor, you are really a star.” “It’s my job Jenn, but it’s a pleasure.” When I was done talking to Eleanor, I followed my nose down the stairs towards the kitchen where Luna was making Lasagna and garlic bread. “Luna how did you know I was in the mood for this?” “Mr. Bianchi requested it.” “I love that man even more now, where is he?” “In his office.” “Thank you, Luna.” I walked to Romeo’s office “Knock knock” I said as I opened the door. “Hi angel come in.” He closed his laptop and got up from his seat walking towards me. He pulled me to him and gave me the best hug I had all day. When he pulled away I said, “Thank you I needed that.” “My pleasure, you wanne sit with me.” He motioned to the chesterfield sofa. He went to sit down then he pulled me onto his lap. “How was your nap?” He asked as he kissed me in my neck. “I feel a lot better thank you.” “that’s good to hear.” “I heard I have to thank you for our dinner tonight?” “Well, I didn’t make it I just know it’s your comfort food and after the day you had I wanted to give you that.” “You always think of everything.” “I try.” “I want to tell you about my day, before the doctor’s appointment.” “Do tell, you look even excited?” “It’s because I am.” "I had such a good day until the doctor called.” “Tell me angel what has you so excited?” “Well, I went to Eva today I have this idea of pairing my cupcakes with wine for the opening. Eva took me to the chef that did the catering for our wedding, he was just as excited when I told him about my idea, in fact I just talked to Eva he has all the wine ready, I just need to bring the cupcakes to him tomorrow.” “That’s awesome angel, I’m so happy for you.” “Yes, I even organized that he serve Hors deavour before the main event.” “Seems you have everything under control.” “I think I do, Eva is going to set the table on Thursday and chef is going to give me 3 waiters to help serve it seems I’m only going to show up and look pretty at this stage.” “And that is exactly how a boss should work. I’m so proud of you Jenn you came a long way from wanting to do everything yourself to actually delegating and letting other people do the work.” “Clearly I’ve learned from the best.” “Clearly.” I smiled at him.
Luna knocked on the door letting us know that dinner was ready. The Lasagna was just what the doctor ordered not to mention the garlic bread. I think I moaned with every bite I took, that was how delicious the food was. I saw Romeo giving me the side eye but he didn’t say anything, he probable just enjoyed the fact that I was enjoying my food. After dinner Romeo and I went to the living room, watching a bit of TV, it was so rare these days for us to just sit and do nothing, it was actually nice for a change. Nothing to worry about, no one was after us we could just relax and enjoy each others company.
